I dont mean any bad but thing literally made it harder for any of us to get any rp... Since the goal of his is to destroy and it kinda became more... I don't see why considering Thing hasn't done anything to anyone except Glory Diamond and Gladius...

Thats not the point, the point is that Ashwings (current goal) is to bribe and corrupt the ponies but its kinda hard to get an idea that the thing have not done and i dont wanna be unoriginal.

Um...what ? You're blaming Thing because you cant think of any plans to mess up the city ? And again, Thing has hardly done anything. In fact, It hasn't even made a hint onto what its plan's are. All its said is to bring Vesta to the mortal world. No one knows anything else.

Yes I know my background indicates I was born in modern Equestria but I could just re-frame it a bit. In my case, I would like to be a gladiator.

 

If I may give some brief background for this version of myself:

 

I was born to a wealthy pegasus family and thusly educated in song, poetry, and literacy. (My knowledge of latin phrases will certainly prove a boon.) Unsatisfied with my pampered existence, I signed up to become an auctorati gladiator. My auctoramentum stipulated that I become one of the pegasi dimacheri. (The ancient gladiatorial class of two sword fighters actually matches well with my existing style. Except with Sicae instead of the more recent saber, which given the pegasi's cultural leanings toward Greco-Roman design, arguably makes more sense.)

 

Even the matches I've lost so far, I've always given the crowd a show. While nopony too noteworthy, I am starting to gather a cult following. If only to see how long before "Squeal Accord" goes flying back to his cloud home crying for his mother.

HOORAY! Ave Kennedus! Is there anything I should know about the current storyline or where I should introduce myself. Also, I only chose gladiator because it's a position I'm well versed in. If you wish, I could be one of the preatoriani instead. Guarding VIPs and such. Now that I think about it, my modern Canterlot job IS being Fancypants' bodyguard . . .

Either way is fine. We have two characters who are both gladiators and members of the military already. As for the story... there's been a lot going on. More than I can recap effectively in one post. The absolute basics are like this: Gladius (me) and Scar (Jolteon) are soon going to fight Ripper (also me) in the arena. Ripper is far and away the best gladiator in Rome, possibly ever, so even as a team they have little chance against him. A changeling has been found in the city, and there may be an invasion incoming. Changelings are already known and hated by the people because they invaded before a few years ago and the empire still hasn't really recovered. Ask Jolteon and Pripyat Pony about Thing and the storyline there. That's about all I can think of.

Well I don't want to occupy a spot that's already been taken or hijack an arc that's already started. So I think I'll go with the latter option. Better yet, I could keep my story intact, but make it past tense. Once a gladiator, now recruited as a preatorian bodyguard. What's your policy on me controlling the NPCs involved with my side of the story?

Of course, gratias tibi ago. That actually works out rather well. With the emphasis this setting places on infiltration, foiling assassination attempts by Changelings, sympathizers, usurpers and such will mean I still actually get to DO something while still not stepping on anypony's hooves!

Hey Steel since your a gladiator wanna have a go later (Ashwing is one... Though not in his true name but he could always be remembered even though he techniqually died in the battle... Errr, youll get it later.)

Also, rolle, Mariposa and Cicada are still out there in the city if any changeling wants to contact them; Mariposa only didn't reply before cuz she was mad at Ashwing but if she was asked for help, she probably would respond. Also, what does Ashwing think about Chicane being captured?

I know what you mean. It wasn't supposed to be this way, but that's how it turned out. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot I can do about that at this point.

No, it is going well, it's just hard for some of the players to really get involved. Anyway, I don't think getting rid of Thing would help much, and it would either be a major plothole or a massive retcon to get rid of it at this point.

I still have my changeling characters Mariposa and Cicada around if you'd like to have them bump into your character. They look like regular earth ponies at the moment so Vinyl wouldn't know of them. They could maybe go about with her, and perhaps she could guess that Mari is a changeling or something like that, and there'd then be this whole moral debate issue. Seeing as it was Vinyl who bumped into Chicane and was so frightened, she'd have two different viewpoints after hanging out with Mari and Cicada, cuz they're nice. XD Up to you, tho; get back to me.
