movies/tv Any TMNT 2012 fans?

I was watching the new TMNT series on Nick this morning. I actually really like it. I was wondering if anyone else agrees. I've never seen the older series'. Are they better in any way? Any crossover ideas? Who's your favorite turtle? Mine's Donatello. A lot of girls have crushes on him. I think I have one, too. I'm an April/Donnie shipper, though. Enough about my turtle opinions. Come on down, and talk about turtles!

I love the new TMNT! It's one of the only good things left on Nickelodeon that isn't LOK (Legend Of Korra).

The best part is they actually make the turtles look AND sound like.. Well, TEENAGERS! Mikey even has freckles! (:3) 

The only thing disappointing is that they got Raphael's original voice (Classic TMNT) actor to play Donatello, not Raphael.

Yeah, Nick is really sucking. The only things that I like (or would like) anymore are Winx Club, Korra, and TMNT. I barely like Winx Club.

I really like all the turtles, but I've never heard Rob Paulsen as Raphael, and I like the voices just the way they are. Were the previous series' better?

Looks like another reason for them to make a triumphant return. Glad to see them yet again coming back to the public. I remember when they were just a black and white independent comic book (and going for hundreds of dollars for the first issue) and then later when they did the tv, movies, and toys (my friend and I raided a toys r us back in the day of the first run of turtle figures, bought some sets of them, and then sold all of them a few weeks later for double price at a flea market when they were the go-to toy(likely those would be worth even more now)). I saw a bit of a recent episode and it was really pretty good (my son like Ninjago which is pretty fun and a good storyline as well). Wish it luck and appreciate that a whole new batch of fans can get into the turtles.

Well, it depends on what you thought of the original series in 1987. But right now, I think the new actors work a bit better then the old ones.

I like the new TMNT but i actually prefer the original series. I liked the look and voices of the original better but many prefer the new look.  I grew up with watching the original series so im  kind of attached to it more then this new series. But it is good to see them making a comeback

I grew up with the classic 80's and 90's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and so far I am liking the new series. It combines the silly humor of the classic series and some of the darker elements of the 2003 series and the original comics quite well. I like the original series because it hold sort of that special place in my heart but with the exception of the short lived live action series Ninja Turtles The Next Mutation I like all versions.

I do like the 2012 TMNT

in truth in it lets us see the

Turtles grow up a bit in front of us

and such,  and I like the humor

they use and plot lines  but it

is light heart if anything.  They style

has a good flow for CG.  Personally the 03 cartoon is

the one i love the  most and got me to love

the TMNT guys all over again!

So? I never said I didn't like their love, I just said it was mildly disturbing.

It's hard to figure out how April/Donnie will work. But knowing Nick, I'm not sure where they'll go. And I think Sparity is cute.

People shouldn't overreact about interspecies shipping. Donnie stands upright, he has the brains and morals of a human. It's just that he's green and has a shell that makes him inhuman. The turtles are incredibly human.

The new TMNT isn't too bad, The fight scenes are pretty cool and fun to watch and the plot is alright.

The only thing that seems to bother me at times is the humor but, not all the time.

 

Overall, Its a good show.

Are they better in any way?

 

The animation here is pretty good. Reminds me of the TellTale games. It's dark and smooth. In the older show it was dark animation, but it was goofy, because obviously the show was for kids, and sometimes older audiences.

 

They're...different. Can't say which is better, though the 80s TMNT is in my childhood. At least I can say it's better than the boring 2003 cartoon.

 

Any crossover ideas?

 

Crossovers? For what? There is no way of connecting the TMNT to any other superheroes. Sure, they met the Power Rangers once, but, that was not canon.

 

Who's your favorite turtle?

 

I simply can't choose, all of them are bad-asses.

While I prefer the 2003 series, this one has lots of charm and the turtles acting like awkward teenagers is a strong point to me. I don't watch much of it because I barely watch TV these days
