MLP censored

Treehouse has it Piston. But odds are they might pull it from the network and play it on a channel like YTV considering the audience has changed.

Huh, strange. I haven't seen any censored ones yet, but then again I mostly watch episodes in HD on the internet more than on tv. It would be kinda cool if they actually put the show on Ytv :)

Howdy all!

Are you kidding me??

And I thought the FCC in the US was strict but Canada's TV & Movie practices is really whacked out.

Pretty dumb move IMO.

See ya!

Wow. Celestia forbid that any negative word or idea make it into a kid's show these days. Because it's not like kids would be mean and cruel to each other if it weren't for TV.

Ah well. If you'll excuse me I must mail the Canadian network a copy of 'Lord of the Flies.'

Here you go guys. This is what it is like when watching in Canada. Clip from party of one.

It is definitely odd listening to this.

I was led over to "TOP 15 fails in foreign versions of MLP:FIM" youtube video after watching the clip. One thing was added in the Swedish version that wasn't an error. When Pinkie refers to Gummy as her "Toy Alligator" she doesn't mean toy as manufactured plaything. (By Hasbro) It's toy as in small, like "Toy Poodle" or "Toy Pig". It would explain why he doesn't grow and is the same size two years later.

Yeah, they blanked out every instance of the word loser because it was aired a preschool targeted station that found using the word loser as a insult offensive for some reason(apparently, even the station execs have the insult index of a preschooler, they probably call each other "poopyheads" when a meeting gets REALLY heated)

Censoring it makes it seem worse! What was the quote? "The only thing they'll call you is loser!"

It is now "The only thing they will call you is *****."

Genius, real genius.

Loser is a pretty harsh word. Don't remember that being used in MLP though and I live in the U.S. I mean instead of calling Twilight a nerd they call her an egghead but apparently loser isn't such a bad word eh....

I've heard of people bleeping out certain parts and making some things sound pretty inappropriate on Youtube but it's a little hard to imagine a TV network would censor such a show.

Yeah, some episodes were censored here in Canada. It's really annoying to watch the episodes with random bleeps everywhere, take a look:

I feel sorry for canadian people having to watch mlp like that. Exspecially since they make it sound like they're really saying a bad word like half the time :P.

Yeah, I'm sorry. No offence to Canada, but that's dumb. And I'm kinda surprised, because I remember when I was in junior high, the second gen of Degrassi was out. And it came to America, but I remember that a number of scenes were cut and some posters and stuff were censored in the version aired in America. Sometimes very obviously so. So I was always under the impression that Canada was more lax about what they aired, but... Losers? Wow. Just, wow.

Just like with Derpy's Original voice, it was probably aired normal, but someone out there complained and then it was censored and/or changed.

Parents just either don't care (buy their kid GTA and let them watch whatever), or if they could, wrap them up in bubble paper (wanting to protect them from even the fly on the window in case they get a disease or something, and personally I would pop all the bubbles because those things are so much fun!).......

You don't really see a balance in parenting often enough in this day and age, it's either one extreme or another, which is sad because it isn't going to get any better.  Why in the world would they censor anything in FIM when a plethora of other cartoon out there are just...wrong.  The plot, the jibes, the humor are all geared older and yet I don't see much censoring at all.  E.I The New Looney Toons show, I saw only one episode, and it was all about Daffy trying to get a human women for a date and with some classic gags and such, Bugs Bunny ends up with her....All I got out that episode was "bestiality for the win??????".  This is what western cartoons are for kids these days.  For younger kids it's all about learning your ABC's (look at the Noggin channel, there is almost no crisis in any show except for not knowing how to count to 10).  My Little Pony kind've falls in the cracks with this western marketing of the show.  It's meant for little girls between preschool age and later elementary school age.  And that is where you get either the "too mature" cartoons such as Original Show, Adventure Time and the like, or "learning orientated shows" such as any preschool show out there.  FIM digs deeper, and instead of numbers and letters, its morals and life values towards how to see yourself and others, and there just too few shows out that really teach  "LIFE".

I just don't think parents and tv networks understand this nor do they know what to do with it, because the teachings of this show are not plain as day "this is why you share, be polite, yada yada yada".  The values and lessons are subtle and thats why the problems need to be exaggerated (i.e. 'Party of One') so that kids can clearly see what would be a subtle lesson. Do I make any sense?
