"Flare heard coughing and turned around to see Melody under a blanket and Delia next to her then trned to Draco. "Thanks Draco...It was alittle foolish for me and Melody to go a scout ahead this wouldn't have happened either" Flare said as he sat down on the ground.

Delia trotted over to Melody and bent down to check on Melody. "It would seem that you are sick. I tried to keep you warm with my body heat and that blanket. I suggest you try to get as much rest as possible." Delia then got up and turned towards Draco. " I will tell you my plan now that the time has come."

  Delia trotted to the center-most part of the cave and cleared her throat. "It would seem some pony does not want us to continue this quest to find the stolen item. Their warnings will not deter me or the group from our goal." Delia said with a commanding tone in her voice. "I don't want to be blunt on this part but my people dont like putting things in a subtle manner, Who do you like or find attractive in this group?" She said as she looked around.

"Um one question while me and Melody were coming up here we saw some random pony came out of no where and said something about love and how it will kill us....what is that supposed to mean exactly" Flare asked still remembering what happened before they both passed out.

Melody swallowed a lump in her throat. She couldn't tell if she was blushing or her cheeks were just red from her cold that she had. "Well um....I really like..." Melody poked at the cave floor with one of her hooves. "Flare." She was quite surprised that she admitted it to everypony. She wasn't one for sharing her feelings to a large group she still didn't really know all that well except for Flare and Delia. Melody's ears perked up hearing Flare tell Delia about that weird pony they saw earlier. She wasn't really sure what to think having just opened up about who she liked.

Flare heard what Melody said. "Y-you like me" Flare said turning to Melody. "W-well I like you too" Flare said blushing a bit. "But what does that have to do with anything at all that happened" Flare asked still blushing after what he said. "Its just normal for two ponies to like each other" Flare said

Draco chuckled slightly to himself. He has closed his heart off "I have to choose who I like I barely know those two ponies," Draco thought. "Tell you what Delia you tell us who you like and then I'll tell you who I like if she feels the same way if not oh well," Draco said smiled a smiled as he looked into Delia's eyes almost challengingly. "But until then I'm just a friend to them. Oh well," He then looked to Pia and sighed "Pia are you going to be alright I can carry you if you'd like,"

Delia's heart skipped a beat. "Hmm, this mysterious pony could be a suspect.If we ever cross paths with him i must detain him/her for questioning." She said.

Delia tried to rally the rest of the group. "do not be shy, I must know for it could shape the plan i have laid out in my mind."

Draco looked up from Pia "Plus don't you think it's alittle early to see who we like? I mean think about it we barely know each other how can we like each other if we're just starting this nice journey. What does that note say anyway?

Honestly Delia asking such a question so early. Sounds almost like a bad romance novel and trust me I've read a few. Anyhow if you must know then you and Pia then,"

Delia stared at Draco. "Your question confuses me. I'll restate the question if thats what you need to understand my question." Delia then closed her eyes and began to think. She then nodded her head and opened her eyes. "Which of you likes who? By that i mean who would you stay with after all this is over?"

"I'll tell you when I've decided because really it's to early to tell," Draco said as he thought about Melody and Flare. He shook his head slightly as he watched the embers go out. "Tell you what Delia tell us who you like then. A leader doesn't need to be emotionless. Maybe I like you Delia,"

Delia blushed a little at Draco's response. "I like everyone here. Oh, this cold must be getting to me." She said as she quickly covered her whole face, leaving an opening for her eyes, with a scarf she dug out of her bag. She then made some noises to shake off her embarrassment.

 

Delia had a lot of mixed emotions in her head. All of which was taking a toll on her.

"You're afraid of showing emotion aren't you milady. Don't be afraid," Draco said walking up to her and gently nuzzling her. He will do what he could to help her. "Now Delia can you show me the note you found or can you show me what it says?" Draco asked with a smile on his muzzle as he looked at Delia.

She felt the nuzzle of Draco brush against her. Delia's body trembled a little, and her legs began to shake. She galloped in place to shake it off. "Oh, this note? it is nothing more then a foolish,ill-thought out threat. We needn't be worried about it."

 

Delia walked to the outside to some trees. She broke off branches and fashioned a crude sled. She carried it inside the cave and set it down next to Melody. "@, Flare, put Melody on this sled and pull her along until she feels better. We must get going." Delia said as she quickly turned around and began to walk to the outside. She stumbled a little while doing so, but she tried to make it unnoticeable.

"Alright" Flare said placing Melody on the sled Delia made. "Anyways what is your plan by the way Delia" Flare asked as he was pulling the sled Melody was on. "Cause Draco had a point there saying it was a bit early to even ask who we like and then you said it will help shape your plan so I'm a bit curious"

Melody felt Flare pick her up and place her on the sled. Her heart skipped a beat, being pulled along by Flare was too good to be true for her. Feeling him pull her along he heard his question to Delia, and it was a valid one at that. But it was quickly brought down by the fact that she had been holding everypony back. She quickly buried her face in her hooves starting to cry "I'm sorry all I've done is slow everypony down. You should just leave me behind and continue the mission. I'm nothing but dead weight."

"I don't believe that a leader has to be a robot. You are a pony you need your emotions," Draco said as he walked behind her and whispered "A strong leader shows her emotions and let's others see moments of weakness. If you believe that a leader needs to show no emotion. Then show the one you like emotion," Draco looked into her eyes gently.

Melody felt a little better hearing Flare trying to talk her down. She still couldn't push the thought out of her head though. All it did was remind her of her young filly days when she was picked on. The other ponies telling her she was useless and couldn't do anything right. It only served to make her cry more. I should've just been left behind. Suddenly Melody remembered what her parents told her. It was that it's when one gives up on themselves that they become useless. It was crude advise but it helped her feel better. Melody wiped the tears away from her eyes and perked her ears up. "Well since I can't do much *cough* right now to...*cough*...help. I can at least give us a song while we continue." Melody took as deep a breath as she could and started to sing a gentle lullaby her mother sang to her as a foal. It was far from perfect though having to stop and cough and catch her breath.

 

(last post of the night gotta work early tomorrow morning so then *yawn* off to bed to nurse my carpel tunnel in my hands from typing so much. Lolz)

Pia awoke in a daze as she felt Draco stir above her. She stretched out her hooves and yawned just as Delia walked back in the room to make an announcement. Who do I like? She hadn't considered this before now. She glanced around at the other ponies in the room, trying to imagine herself with one of them. Melody and Flare choose each other, a surprise to nopony.  

 

Jolt is strong and confident but Draco is kind and understanding. I don't know how I could possibly decide. 

 

In a quiet voice Pia answered Delia's question "It does seem soon to decide these things. But give me a little time and I'll have an answer."

Delia took off her scarf and smiled at Melody. "Dry your tears, you are not slowing us down. If anything its the weather." She said turning her attention to Flare.

"Like i said my people are blunt with their words. I will explain to you my logic: I read that love powered this item that was stolen. Im guessing the more love we emit, the easier it would be to find it in this snowy terrain. Though, it is just a hypothesis" Delia said feeling like she wasn't herself while saying what she did.

Delia didnt know how to respond to Draco's and Flare's statement. She thought a little bit and responded. "I will try to show more emotion if that is what you wish. She said.

Draco chuckled as he paced he looked at every pony here. He heard Pia's statement and smiled slightly "Exactly it's a little early  to decide who like's who or who love's who. I closed my heart long ago. Now then you're talking about changelings yes? I heard about the attack a year ago. Canterlot needed repairs so they called on all the courier businesses' to help them. Mine was one of the top ones to deliver lumber. What I'm a business man too you know. Anyhow I'm thinking that changelings are involved but we'll have to wait till they rear their heads," Draco said then his eyes went completely cold. His voice held large amounts of venom "If they so much as imitate the dead I'll show they why I'm not a very good pony,"

"That might be better" Flare said as he turned to look at Melody and heard her singing. "Maybe you shouldn't sing since it sounds like your voice is straining" Flare said worried about Melody and saw the snow picking up and spreads his wings to block some of it from hitting Melody

Delia tried to go closer to Draco without appearing awkward. "It would seem that you are strong as well as wise just like one of my brothers back home." Delia said. She thought about what she just said and realized the wording was wrong. "NO WAIT! I meant like my father. I mean..just forget i said anything." She said as she sighed heavily.

From the corner of his eye, Jolt saw Piacevole stretching. Jolt smiled and wondered over towards her.

 

"Welcome back Miss. Pia. Have a good night?" Jolt said, keeping the smile on his face.

 

[she's so cute and kind. I think she's the one I like.]

 

Jolt turned back to Delia and the note.

 

"Say, Miss. Delia. You haven't told us about the note yet.

Draco chuckled slightly and said "Well aren't you cute when you're awkward. Any how I understand what your saying. I've lived a hard lot in life struggled but in the end I won. Anyway it's not that bad out there but it's still snowing. We pegasi males will block the snow from the lovely ladies with our wings. I want Delia on my left side while Pia get's my right. Jolt you'll stand next to Pia with your wings spread out like we did before. Flare are you well enough to have your wings spread out while we walk?"
