So, not to long ago, I went hunting for PMV suggestions. In private message, I received one from GolgoXIII that sounded like fun to do. And believe me, it was! Smooth sailing throughout for this video:

This is really well done, I liked it.  

 

How long does it take you to find the specifics clips from the show that coordinate perfectly with the song? 

You said it was "smooth sailing" for this PMV, so did it not take you much time?  I think if I made one of these, it would be a hassle for myself to look back and try to find the proper scenes from the show to use in the video.

This one looked kind of trickier to make than the others, guess I can't call them at all XD

 

In any case, very good work. Clip selection was phenomenal and I enjoyed it a lot

It depends on the clip, but not very long. Sometimes, I already have something clear in mind before even beginning the video, so I use that. Usually, though, I make it up as I go along, planning ahead 2 steps half the time and none the other. My strategy is to look at the audio and think:

 

A. What's a scene from an episode that fits the idea? I then search the scene for a part that works well.

B. What's the general look of the lip sync (I highly recommend "MLP Animation Analysis: Talk is Cheap" for a great explanation of the various mouth shapes of certain sounds)?

 

I also use people like Kyrospawn and SunnySandStorm on Youtube for inspiration when I can't pull anything off the top of my head.

 

This PMV took me a few days, working in the mornings and after school. The more PMVs you make, I find, the more extensive your knowledge of the episodes becomes and the faster it is to find what you need.

I see.  Well, this is really good.  There's a nice flow to the whole thing, and you made it seem as if MLP was meant to portray the song.  It's a neat talent you have there. I'm excited to see your future projects.
