writing Memory Paralysis

I am forgotten in this embrace that holds me

Trapped, insane, and out of place

But who am I to complain?

I am the one who put me here

For my own sake and someone else

 

I cling to these memories

Of pain, of joy, and common sense

Of better days and my regrets

I view them all so cautiously

After all, inside my mind,

They’re all I have

 

Trapped inside the confines of my own mind

The only escape being through these eyes

Yet to see with these eyes is to be shown my own reflection

My gaze fixated upon my eyes, and those eyes unto mine

 

I see myself, but do I see who I am?

 

The physical me has gone its way

It left me here detained and dying

Grasping onto these memories

Awaiting the day when I can be myself once again

For I am just an idea

And I have become lost with these memories.
