Tetris (any version)

Sooo... I'm pretty sure a forum like this has its pack of tetris players.

 

Do you guys play Tetris ? How often ?

 

Do you still play on your loyal NES on Tetris NES ?

Do you play some obscure arcade version of the game ?

 

Or do you prefer multiplayer on Tetris DS or Tetris Battle maybe ?

Personally, I'm got hooked by Tetris the Grand Master series.

Well, it's this game.

It's really hardcore. (And this guy is good too)

 

But it's so interesting, it's really different than any Tetris game, the rotation system and scoring system are amazingly well made. (No infinite piece rotation like in Tetris DS, you have little time to execute your moves and think about the next piece)

 

Basically, it's about getting grades. But higher grades are not just a matter of clearing lines. You have to be (extremely) quick, you have to avoid clearing single lines, you have to keep your game clean, and you have to be consistent in your overall execution.

 

Well I used to play Tetris DS too, but only for the multiplayer.

I tried Tetris Battle too, it's quite fun.

I played a lot of Tetris when I was younger. I had it on Game Boy Colour and was nails. Unlike some games nowadays where you can easily do the hardest in the game, getting to see the space shuttle launch (and Samus Aran playing a double bass) by clearing Type B: Height 5 Level 9 was an achievement you never forget.

 

I played Tetris DS recently and it was ultimately disappointing. On my 3rd go I was able to complete Marathon Mode. I stayed away from the Wi-Fi battles as I heard rumours of Asian Tetris Ninjas that beat you in a second.

I play online sometimes when I'm waiting for something. It is a clone of the original one to my knowledge in most ways or so it says.

Seriously, Tetris DS multiplayer is glorious. Go play it.

And if you want to a challenge because Tetris DS Marathon is a cakewalk, try TGM.

tetris huh? i used to toil away arranging the blocks, building walls, and tanks, and stuff like that, but then i upgraded to secret bases, For its HIP HIP HOORAH for the USSR.

Hell yeah. I've been playing Tetris since I was 5. My favorite version that I've played, though, is the GameBoy version. But that might be because it was the first version I played.
