Satan, The Adventures of Mark Twain

Seriously, it's only a five minute scene, but it's probably one of the most disturbing visions of pure evil ever.

Oh, there's another one I think is worth mentioning too; the Coachman, from Pinocchio.

img-1365425-1-Coachman2.jpg

I can sum up how sick he is in three words - he tortures children. It's a Disney film! Twisted child abuse? Lulling them to a child haven, cursing them into donkeys and then selling them to the labour trade and the circus? The guy is terrifying. He's truly a villain.

You know what the most disturbing part of this character is? He gets away with it. He was successful in his plot to kidnap innocent boys, violently transform them, and to sell them into eternal slavery with no hope of ever being set free. He has done this before, and he will continue to do it. And no one can stop him.

The character responsible for this terrifying moment from my childhood is a true villain in my book.

Haven't seen this in like forever. Great animation of pure evil, no doubt.

And, for a huge change of gears, I've got to give a shout out to this lady, `cause she hasn't been mentioned yet:

Cruella de Vil, 101 Dalmatians

What's not to like about a bad lady modeled after Tallulah Bankhead?

Oh buck yeah, I love Cruella. She's frickin hilarious, has a great design, with the stellar animation to back it up, and she has one of the most sadistically cruel plots in film history: murdering 99 puppies! That's the most stereotypical you can possibly get, and what makes it even better is that I don't think it's even because she thinks they'd make great coats. She just wants to get back at Roger and Anita for standing up to her.

Now that's just petty.

I am surprised no one has said the Ice King from Adventure Time.

tumblr_mc41gnMdG21rhhfvuo1_500.jpg

He might be the most complicated villian in TV show history. Born a regular man, and had to lose his sanity to save him and a little girl he did not know in a post apocalyptic world.

Here is his whole story but warning, quite sad:

Princess Azula, Avatar: The Last Airbender

It's impossible for me to do this one justice in a few short paragraphs, so have bulletpoints:

  • Grey Delisle rocks.
  • Blue lightning also rocks.
  • She makes for a great adversary for Team Avatar, both mentally and physically. Every fight with her nearly ends with Aang getting killed. Hell, she actuary does kill him at one point!
  • She has a presence that no one else can match.
  • She orchestrated the fall of the Earth Kingdom and ruined the invasion plan.
  • She's so effective at outsmarting and out doing everyone that she comes of as a Villain Sue.
  • She enjoys seeing others being humiliated and degraded.
  • It was her idea to engulf an entire continent in inferno because a few villages didn't like the Fire Nation.
  • But most of all, what I love about Azula is the S3 realization that she is insane. And not just insane in the "power-mad" sense, but in the legitimate "holy-shit-she-should-be-in-an-asylum" sense. It puts almost all her actions and behavior in a tragic light once you realize that she's just as much a victim of her father's psychological abuse as Zuko, maybe even more so.

I'm not sure which one is best villain for me as I've seen so many, so I'm gonna post a more recent one I saw and that would be...

The Devil from Disney's Fantasia (1940)

Fantasia+-+Night+on+Bald+Mountain.jpg

Just look at him! That's just downright menacing. Also he's the biggest villain I've ever seen.

Living on top of Bald Mountain, he wakes up every night to torture dead souls, corrupt things... practically everything you'd expect from the Devil himself. And the music that plays throughout the entire part is absolutely amazing and fitting. And those eyes... by everything that's holy, those eyes... It actually felt like he was looking into my soul. The wings are very impressive too. And while he doesn't talk at all, he doesn't need to. His actions speak for themselves. This is pretty dark for a Disney musical film, considering how old it is.

As a side note and off topic, that movie also has a part that shows Greek mythology with mythical creatures. If you've seen this movie, you've seen this part and one part in the Greek mythology bit somehow makes me think of My Little Pony G1... and a bit of FiM. But I won't show anything on this topic since this is about villains and such.

  • 1 year later...

Aku, from Samurai Jack.

Aku_by_Mystic_Forces.jpg

Let's begin with his own introduction on the Intro of the series:

Why is he one of the greatest animated villains of all time?

HIS LAUGH:

He's incredibly humorous, golden humor right here:

Why else? He can be harmed only by one thing: The magic sword forged by the gods that once tried to destroy him while he was just a massive blob of darkness on the Universe at the beginning of creation.

One small part survived, and came to earth, in the form of a meteor, and killed all the dinosaurs. Aku manifested for centuries as a fore of nature, a virus that contaminated everything in seconds with black spikes and a dark goo that solified the ground into black, where black trees spread out.

When the Emperor of China tried to stop the virus with a poisoned arrow, that gave birth to evil, Aku was born. He put the emperor tied up to a tree to see the destruction of his home, along with his village and his pregnant wife.

A white giant horse untied him, and both went to a mountain were the three most powerful gods (Ra, Odin and Shiva) made three monks forge him a magic sword with all that is good, to save the Earth.

The emperor defeated Aku after a long battle, but years later, he resurrected, and this time, the wife of the emperor left their son to different races where he would train to become the most powerful man on the world, while the emperor got imprisoned by Aku, who ruled earth while the son trained for years.

Aku had trouble with the Samurai, so he opened a portal in time and sent him into the future, where he's the ruler of almost the entire Universe.

Now, the Samurai who was named Jack in the future, seeks a way to return to the past an destroy Aku before any of that future happened.

Aku is the best Cartoon Network villain of all time.

A lot of my choice were already stated, so I'll go with Eobard Thawne, A.K.A Professor Zoom. I specifically enjoyed his role in Flashpoint Paradox. The way that he is an equal match for The Flash and also makes him responsible for the events that happen in the arc is just amazing.
