"It seems i learn more about you each day my friend." Delia said. She then listened to Draco singing which made her think of her own homeland. She just nuzzled up to Draco and let out a heavy hearted sigh. "When this is all over I'm going on a leave of absence from my duties."

"Oh how so?" Draco asked as he looked into her eyes. "Tell me how you learned more about me I'm curious what you have learned," Draco said as he rubbed her back gently with his large wings. "I've always been able to sing ever since I trained my voice to appeal to certain crowds," Draco nuzzled her gently "Even if I have to die I'll bring everypony back this I swear,"

"Well, i didnt know your wings were so...versatile." Delia said as she grew annoyed with his last statement. "There is no 'If' Draco. You are too strong of a pony to die." Delia didnt like thinking about one of her friends and possible love interests dying or suffering. She already went through it once and didnt want to go through it again. "you should sing more often. Your voice is beautiful" Deli said as she attempted to stear the conversation to a less dark place.

Diamond had fallen unconscious when they entered the house but was slowly coming too. There were voices around her but she couldn't make anything out. She slowly opened her eyes and tried to focus on the two ponies sitting by her bed. After a moment, her eyes focused in to see Draco and Delia. "Oh he-" She was cut off as she leaned over the side of the bed, about to vomit. Luckily there was a bucket she quickly pulled it over and...well she threw up.

After a moment she lay back and groaned.

Acheron had been wandering deeper into Everfree as he slowly became apathetic to his negative feelings.

"When have I ever needed them? When have I ever wept at the sight of ponies turning me away?"

Acheron casted several spells, some cloaking stalking creatures in paralyzing shadow, while others strongly resembled an ability of the Seneschal of Greed as it twisted and reduced a creature into a subjugatedwraith thrall.

"The deeper parts of Everfree, said to be the death of anyone who ventures in. Yet here I am alone..."

He felt a slight tinge of hurt in himself as he said those words. Acheron had began to become accustomed to the company, yet now he was off as he had been for years.

"No matter," he said with a scoff. "This feeling can only be used for my advantage now..."

After a while, Acheron found a rather comfortable place to rest. Sitting down, he exhaled and rested for a while, setting up walls of darkness

To protect himself. When he awoke, he felt well rested.

"Time to finally read that 'book'..."

Whispering a few words, Acheron opened his pack and reached in. A few seconds later, he produced a rather large volume, leaving a seemingly endless space of darkness. The tome was gilded with gold resembling scales and had several dark gems decorating it. Despite its precious appearance, anyone could tell something was strange about it due to a rather oppressive red aura.

Acheron smiled as he opened the dark tome. The contents it held within were several writings of how to wield dark energy, but also how to manifest it to create effects of powerful arcane fire, lightning, and cold. The other portions consisted of enhancing the powers and effects of an obviously forbidden art, Blood Magic. The rest of the tome spoke of the secrets of the era it was written in and of other realms which none dared to investigate.

Satisfied, Acheron prepared to close the tome and dispell it, but before he did, something caught his eye; an engraving on the end page of the tome, barely visible. It read as follows:

"Admonition against Chaos- the magic contained here is potent, but because it derives from a more ancient source: Primordial Chaos. This Chaos is not to be confused with the magic of draconequui, for theirs is nothing but mere distortion, Madness. This Chaos we write about is malignant, corrupting and destroying all it touches. It breaks the wills of others, and is the ultimate source of magic used to subjugate minds and souls alike. Apophis, the Serpent of Chaos, was the first to embrace it, and became the avatar of primordial chaos. The magic in its raw form is extremely potent, but it comes wih adverse effects. It can potentially kill the user, even the most powerful of mages. Relics were made to harness its power, but these have been all but destroyed. Seek this power out at your own peril.."

It then gave clues of where to search.

"I think I might understand where..."

Dimitri was certain this time that he was heading in the correct direction. He thought that if he just kept heading straight he'd eventually come across something, anything that'd help him locate Fluttershy. He was alone with his thoughts for a while and he was getting increasingly worried and aggravated every time he moved. The haze in his eyes was subsiding though, and the ground beneath him stopped catching on fire.

Dimitri stopped moving and looked up into the canopy. "I can't submit to it again." He said out loud as he looked at the scenery behind him. Most of the grass and trees were charred, ashy, and some were still burning. "Magic is evil. It is what ruined my life, and nearly hurt her." He whispered under his breath as he started to put out a fire that was burning in a nearby bush.

"The power is tremendous. It helped me find her once before, but the things I did to obtain it, and the things I did with it..." He put the fire out and kept waking forward. "The others are useless, feeble, wastes of life. They do nothing but argue as I slowly suffer...yet they're still my somewhat friends. They keep stopping me from finding her. They don't care for me, so I won't care for them. I won't give in to the corruption, but I also won't go back to them."

The haze was now completely gone from his eyes. "I'm stronger than that. I won't submit to it again." He started to push trees down as he walked forward yet again.

Acheron began to glow with a tainted green aura as he began to augment and refine all his magical abilities. His lips curled into a cruel grin

as his dark magic developed and fluctuated between the arcane effects of fire, frost, and lighting. It's more "normal" aspects of forming constructs strengthened as well. After Acheron felt its refinment was complete, he switched it to Diamond's healing magic. Though it again reminded him of the schism he caused, those thoughts were overshadowed as he tainted it with blood magic to make it into an even more potent magic, albeit now noticeably more corrupted. Nonetheless, it could still be used for its positive effects without others noticing its twisted source.

"Now I a m prepared to advance... time to add to my knowledge and power once again..."

Acheron began to direct himself throughout the forest, and started making his way towards Appaloosa.

"The desert, much like the ancient land of Apophis due to its deserts. Most overlook the fact that it is a perfect place for practicing ancient and forbidden magic..."

"Are you alright Diamond?" Draco asked as he looked at the mare with concerned silver eyes. "Well I never needed to sing. I don't know but I have a strange feeling wherever we are going to go we're going to need to be prepared. I mean plenty of water, food, maybe something to protect us from the elements," Draco said.

"No this is better because you'll be safer here. Anyhow I needed to do some research on the next location," Draco said. "We can't go willy nilly into the fight,"

Acheron had finally made it out of Everfree and traveled back towards Ponyville. Judging by the position of the sun, it was only a few hours past midday. Despite the time of day, Acheron was tired from his long trek through Everfree and back to Ponyville, so he took up a room in a nearby inn and slept for a few hours before waking up around midnight. He thanked the innkeeper and left a few bits to pay and tip him off before heading off to the train station.

"To Appaloosa," Acheron said simply as he laid the payment before the ticket pony. Raising an eyebrow, the station pony took he bits and handed him his tickets.

"Not often we get ponies wanting to travel there this time of night... watch yourself out there," the pony told Acheron as the unicorn boarded the lonely train.

"I know what I'm doing," Acheron said as the train departed.

Dimitri finally emerged from the forest. It was probably a little past midnight, and he was relieved to finally be out. He thought that he spent too long in there when he could've been out sooner. His eyes felt a little heavy. He only had a total of three hours sleep from a period of about four days now. He didn't know where to go or where to even look. He was hoping that he would've found a better clue in the forest.

Dimitri regretted not asking more about the artifact before he stormed off, but he was optimistic that he'd find a solution sooner or later. From what he could gather about the Seneschal he still had no clue about a certain location. The mountains weren't a bad idea, and they were not inhabited. Underneath the ground somewhere populated could also be possible too. As he sat, still by the forest, he struck the ground with his hoof.

"Damn, damn me for not being better!" He sighed and looked at the sky finally noticing that it was nighttime. "Tonight is the night. Is already the next day, so in several hours I'll see it." He kept looking at the stars and gave another deep sigh. Maybe their comet could give a clue, or at least some morale. He was hoping that she'd be looking for it too in a dozen hours. "I feel so damn useless to her!" He hit himself on the forehead and drew blood. He looked at the blood on his hoof and thought for a second.

"I don't even know where to look. The others all helped, but also held me back and didn't care about me...." He was wrestling with the concept of the group. It was extremely useful to him, but also lacked the motivation that he had. The others seemed to seek personal gain from this, while he was the only one selflessly doing it. Saving the six would probably save the world, but he also needed his wife back. Without her he'd be a husk of himself. If anything hurt her, it'd be his fault and he would feel even more immense pain.

"Maybe Acheron...or..I don't know.." Tears welled in his eyes. "I just don't know what to do...." He whispered as he put his hooves over his face.

(He left for Appaloosa on a train by himself. You can make it to where Dimitri vaguely saw him and quickly boarded if you want. The next artifact is over there anyway xD)

Acheron finally arrived in Appaloosa a few hours later, still nighttime. Not long after he had unboarded and traveled far into the wilderness, he was assaulted by bandits.

"You look a bit lost friend, and a bit heavy laden wih all that junk..."

They soon tried to gang up on him, but Acheron quickly reacted by trapping them in freezing darkness.

"It works well," Acheron said cruelly as he allowed the dark frost to seep into their bodies. Acheron thought of something interesting. These bandits were most likely familiar with the wilderness of Appaloosa, it could be that they've seen strange ruins deep inside caves as they sought for shelter. Acheron's horn swarmed with his Knowledge drain tendrils as he imapled them all at once, killing them.

"It seems they have seen some stranhe things..."

The knowledge was a good pointer but insufficient, so Acheron had another thought. Using the blood of the bandits, he drenched the golden tome he had read in Everfree. Its red aura glowed brighter, and Acheron was soon being lead by it towards a far away location in the desert.

"Good...."

After what seemed like an eternity of nothing but dry land lit only by the dim light of Luna's moon and stars, Acheron finally arrived at a seemingly empty spot where the golden tome glowed strongest.

"Ah... I can feel a strange energy coming from this spot. To others a mere portion of desert ground, but to me..."

Acheron threw the book into the area, but instead of landing with a thud, it stayed aloft in the air as its red aura revealed the ruins of an ancient shrine.

"This place must have been sealed within time and space itself, much like how the Crystal Empire was cursed by Sombra. Definitely something not meant to be found by others..."

This only made the unicorn's desire to enter the ruins stronger.

When Acheron entered the temple, he found several corpses, now nothing but withered husks. They all bore a hieroglyph pendant around their necks, the same hieroglyph which was a motif throughout the temple.

"The ancient symbol for Primordial Chaos and Apophis, Isfet..."

A hissing voice whispered throughout the temple.

"Not many know of that name anymore, nor of the symbols of my ancient land."

An pedestal suddenly became more noticeable through the darkness, dust, and debris of the ruins as it glowed with the same energy of the golden volume. A small, blackened artifact in the shape of a serpent seemed to be its source.

"My history is all but forgotten, my tomes of magic all but lost as even the Alicorn sisters themselves hid them throughout outer realms. Yes unicorn, you are in nothing more than a strange rift between this realm and your own..."

The aura literally snaked across the air as it took on the form of a large, red snake.

"The forgotten Sect of Ra destroyed me and the followers of my ancient power, fearful of its use. They pledged themselves to guard my shrines to prevent anyone from relearning my secrets... even in death..."

The last words had rang strongly in Acheron's ears, and even more so as he saw the glowing apparitions of several ponies manifest out of thin air.

"You should not have come here, unicorn. Even the little you've seen is too much, we cannot risk you indulging your appetite for more secrets any more..."

Without another word, they immediately swarmed Acheron with their sheer numbers...

...

After what seemed like hours of fighting the sheer numbers of the radiant spectral guardians, Acheron was finally able to disperse the last of the ancient ghosts. He turned his attention back to the blazing pedestal and approached it, eager to see if he could extract its power.

"I am impressed unicorn, your power was enough to fight off the numbers of these Guardians. You expect a reward..."

The aura immediately snaked forward and enveloped Acheron, causing a feeling of strong fatigue and sickness.

"I would destroy you, puny unicorn, but sadly I, Apophis, sole true embodiment of Primordial Chaos, am fading away. My power lives on in others like you who have sought my knowledge and arts."

Acheron struggled weakly, close to the point of passing out from overexertion.

"Learn how to fight the ill effects of my power, and you will bask in a sea of knowledge of the ancient secrets of my land's history and magic..."

Acheron actually regret to have ever come in search for this knowledge and power, something which had never crossed his mind. The immense weakness he was feeling from the Primordial Chaos he was surrounded in was no doubt actually killing him, draining him of his life force.

Apophis's voice hissed in his mind as he drew closer to his end.

"It matters little to me if you live or not. Your death might be just what I need to gain portions of my power back...."

The coils of primordial chaos tightened around Acheron...

Acheron mustered whatever little strength he could find. His will to live, coupled with his ever burning appetite for more and more knowledge, seemed to return his strength, just a little.

"Y-you... won't have.. any part of me..."

Acheron produced whatever magic he could, but it seemed to only be lost in the red coils. Acheron suddenly thought of something. He had absorbed many of the ghosts, had he not? Releasing the energy contained within, he finally produced a more effective surge of arcane energy. The golden and black streams of magic were lost in the red coils, but this time they seemed to flow more freely within them as they became a part of the energy.

"I... I now own this... my life is my own... I am bound to none..."

The red energy finally began to die down as it dispersed.

"Well done... no easy task for any mortal, to take on the waves of the ancient spirit of Primordial Chaos. My time is over now, little pony, but first..."

The red energy flowed into Acheron's horn, filling his mind with thousands of secrets and knowledge acquired throughout millennia.

"Knowledge, the thing you most crave, and a final portion of my remaining power. I once gave this to the Draconequui, but they have twisted its use to do nothing but simple pranks of Madness. I give it to you in its raw form. Use it to destroy and corrupt all you desire..."

The energy finally disperse completely, and Acheron swooned. He was transported back outside the crumbling ruins, its secrets forever lost now. The energy he had observed became part of his dark magic, and gave it new properties. Acheron layed there, unconscious.

Dimitri was now in his house. Empty bottles of alcohol were strewn all across the floor. One, two, four, ten. They were all piled by the couch where Dimitri was laying. A bottle still enclosed in his left hoof. He was slurring and rambling in his intense drunkenness. "Hurt...her...done...useless." His eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep and intense alcohol consumption. He rolled off the couch and hit the floor hard. He looked up at the ceiling of the cottage and sighed. He tried to get up, but he fell back on the floor again.

"I just can't." He whispered to himself as he looked at the bottle in his hoof. "Courses I'm just a useless one." He slurred as he, yet again, tried to get up but instead slammed back onto the coffee table. He began to tear up as he looked at the locket around his neck. "What do I do?" He whispered again. Dimitri was a wreck. He shook his head and got up finally. He started heading to the door.

He left the cottage and stumbled into Ponyville. It was too late for anypony to be out. He didn't see a single being as he stumbled through the streets. Walking into and knocking over things as he went. A voice in the back of his head started to speak subtly. It was his own voice, but different. "You useless drunk. Drinking, defeated, and giving up? Why don't you just submit already. It can help you find her. Accept the darkness. Welcome and embrace your gift."

Dimitri stood himself straight and looked around him. Even while drunk he knew what this voice was. His mind was open, and the dark recesses of his mind were free to wander. He put a hoof to his head and spoke, slurred, out loud. "Is not good ideas. I not become that again." The voice responded back within his mind. " Evoke the powers. Use them for her. It's all for her Dimitri."

Acheron awoke with a headache and still lingering fatigue. How long was he out? Minutes, hours? He didn't know, and he didn't care either because at the moment, he was inwardly celebrating his success of obtaining the knowledge and abilities spoken of in his golden tome.

"My mind burns with the secrets of countless millennia!"

Acheron slowly began traveling away from the again empty site, hoping he could find a lodging of some sort, or at the very least some shelter so that he could rest himself once more.

"I understand what this new power can do, for me at least. A near inescapable'sea' of Primordial Chaos, much like of what I was trapped in. It can reduce a foe to nothing but a dessicated husk should his will not be strong enough to resist. My subjugative magic will also become stronger, as will my other forbidden arts..."
