Actually, I'd like to see a shapeshifting battle ensue! That would be very interesting! There should definitely be a smaller team going after the queen as  well. I'm sure the agents can hold their own -- and like 00Pony said, let's see how well the agents keep themselves hidden.

@@Hypn0ticD,@@00Pony, You know guys... i am wondering something. Is shapeshifting truly... superficial? I mean... if you could shapeshift into another, wouldn't your brain cells shapeshift a bit too? Wouldn't you then be able to... learn about their memories? Their goals? Aside from that i think we've already established that since changelings can feed on emotions then they can actually "sense" if someone wants to do something good to them or not... like let's say they want to harm them... they feel it.

Random situation i am imagining right now... a changeling transforming into the president. Daaaaaaaaamn this could create some interesting situations.

I was thinking of it being superficial, personally. After all, in the show Chrysalis didn't seem to really know how Cadence should act (unless that was somehow part of her plan)

Maybe they could get a small idea of their memories/ideals and such if they turned into the person, after having known/observed them for a while and figuring out how they tick?

@@00Pony, Yea... i was thinking of that... i am thinking that she acted "mean" because she was "too much in character"? Like the "immersion" phenomenon... or maybe it was jut her opinion? She just didn't like AJ's cookies? Or she didn't like the way Pinkie Pie partied? Or she had greater things in mind and just... could not be bothered?

Guys... i wanted to talk this out with you before opening a new topic. I have an idea for an RP that i'd like to discuss. Here comes the wall of text...

I REPEAT THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS RP!!!
 

This RP idea was originally suppossed to be the pre-quel or pre-history to my Fanfic (link in the signature) which as you can see is still being written and very fluid in it's own advancement.

Flutterponies:The g3 version of the race of ponies with glimmering wings. Yes... i'm gonna use it so prepare for it.

There is one gene in the Flutterponies particular that is rather "tricky" baffling many scientists who study it. It is called "The Protean Gene" and it has three possible forms it can take. During a Flutterpony's life it will adapt, change, depending on the situation it is put in. Each position it takes on the genetic code allows the Flutterpony to excel at different sectors: Strength, Dexterity, Magic. Added to that an unique characteristic is given to the changeling by it. Muscular structure, thicker skin/natural armor, affinity with healing and countless others possibilities. They have much in common with normal ponies, but they are not a mix of races.

You will be able to choose one of three sectors. If your "strength" lies in magic then you will have limited strength and agility, 1/10th of an Earth Pony's Strength, and 1/10th of a Pegasus' Agility (speed and flight heigh e.t.c Stats may change). Now here comes the story.

5000 Years ago...

The Creator (whether you like this to be blank or you want me to put Fausticorn in here is debatable) swept by Equestria... a different Equestria filled with utter Darkness, demons, abominations of all kind. While the fight of the creator against this evil was successfull, the evil could not be permanently annihilated. It retreated below Equestria, in a large network of continental-sized caverns otherwise known as...

Tartarus...

The Creator had other worlds to save... many others needed help, but the work on Equestria was not done, and even the mightiest of creatures cannot function alone.  Luckily there was still some good in Equestria, the races saved during the Creator's fight wanted to help and so... they were granted the chance.

So it was that two sets of guardians were created. The guardians of the surface... the Alicorn Princesses of the Sun and the Moon carried the responsibility of repelling Extra-Equestrian invaders and protecting Equestria from evil emerging out of other worlds. They would have the aid of the three pony races... the pegasi, the unicorns, the earth ponies. They were gifted with the "Elements of Harmony":Loyalty, Kindness, Generosity, Honesty, Laughter symbols of unity, and in great emergencies weapons capable of pacifying even the greatest of enemies.

While they would be on the surface the race of the Flutterponies, the most versatile and mutable race on Equestria would be keeping the forces of Darkness at bay pushing them further in Tartarus until the point of extinction... The Flutterponies were led by King Proteus an Alicorn that could take the form of every material imaginable. Standing by his side was another Alicorness... Queen Metis the "Mare of Transformation" the first of the pony races to master the art of shapeshifting. They in turn were given...

The Flames of Balance...

Truth... universal, un-biased, purifier of lies.
Trust... un-shakeable, everlasting, protector of the weak.
Courage... persistent, uplifting, guardian of spirits.
Selflessness... the "richest" on the inside, the watchfull eye, willingly sacrificing one's self for another.
Compassion... sharing another's pain, healing body and soul, bringer of rebirth.
And last but not least...

Hope... the illusion of ignoring all probabilities, the dream for the best, the shining star in the dark.

I was thinking for starters that the RP-ers will be the flames, who don't know yet who they are or if they are... on some secondary roles there would be me as King and Queen. There might be others too... i don't know... currently i am brainstorming.

Past the evil in the dark you will be facing everyday difficulties. The whole race of the Flutterponies needs to be united and move togother. Thus you must find a way to feed in this harsh environment, you will meet others that lived in these areas, other kinds of creatures (many of which might come straight from the DnD universe). You must also build your city, fortify the front, keep your citizen's spirits up, everything a normal society in war needs(or would need... w/e). You will not be able to contact the surface for help... and you wouldn't do that...

All the normal rules apply... Alicorns (the King and Queen) will be present in this RP but will be kept to a minimum, and most probably handled by me... mostly to give missions to the others, to be leadership figures e.t.c.

So what do you guys think? Also... as a last note i don't intend this RP of having the "Ideal Ending" or the "They lived happilly ever-after ending." However if this all goes well... i intend to have this continue to even have a sequel.

I was thinking to get a few ideas out of the way between Jack's tire test and race, where whatever happens to him happens... Keep in mind, the Pony Snatchers will be on their collective asses at this point

 

-First, I wanna see Angie and Colette in a match over Halo, whilst the other girls/ Ponies watch and shake their heads or are off doing their heads. I see Dash trying get in on the action!

 

-Next, Dash should get into one of Colette's scary games record herself playing for her fans-- I'd suggest she start off with The House/ The House 2, but it's up to Dawn if he wants to do this or not.

 

- My last stupid idea for the evening combines several ideas. Colette gets a call from her band buddy Connor saying there's a concert the day before Jack's race, and, of course, Colette wants in. Rarity overhears this, goes nuts-- and before she knows it, Colette has an entire wardrobe for her next show, several pieces being skirts and dresses. Rarity, on the other hand, will have newly acquired experience in a style she's never worked with before.

 

This'll be a chance for Colette to show Fluttershy what she does, as well as it being an unofficial "date", but everyone is welcome to attend this concert, as it is a free venue, as its mostly for unsigned artists and bands to be scouted by labels. The agents, of course, should be able to get into the crowd, and up close to anyone/ anypony in attendance-- Save for Fluttershy, who'll have a backstage pass!

 

*Pripyat - also entertaining the idea of bringing harry back so she can play guitar/be the backing vocals. This'll allow Colette to truly go nuts on stage, but at the cost of showing off her skill at guitar.

He also has one of those synthesizers that fold and just need a plug to get music... plus the wine is still there. Hunters will be showing up.. Things will be so gloriously disrupted. This will be fun. Though, I don't think my Hunters will make much of a move till after some of the things (like the Halo match and such) happen. They'll be stalking, but kidnapping, perhaps not. We'll see

An issue I've been having with the forums is that it does not notify me when I am mentioned. It's an ongoing issue that hasn't been fixed by tinkering with the settungs; it says notifications for mentions are on, but they don't show up. Anyone else have this issue? It's really annoying, since it makes roleplaying quite a bit harder.
