@@00Pony, I'm going to mention three things. I see Chrysalis going feral against the agents even drawing blood if possible. I see her in general VERY angry...  especially if they manage to get their hands on a changeling. ((Not that you should make it happen... but if you hurt them she can be VERY cross like a mother tiger protecting her cubs))

I can honestly say I have no idea exactly what you are talking about... I do not expect the Equestrians to know there is a plot to nab them. I'm just saying that my teams are prepared to do what they must to get them. And if that means having casualties on their part, they will do it.

I think the party will just end up being another recon type mission. My second team might make a move against Chrysalis and David, but not to sure just yet. I think Hypno's plan is to have the party go fairly smooth, and then Jack's race, and then the excrement hits the fan. I think.

@@00Pony, Sometime in my thinking about the agents going on against Chrysalis i thought about her actually capturing one... that would be truly hard however. 

You should take the chance thought and give your characters some... flaws... because they sound too perfect if you ask me. I mean... nevermind... 

@@Hypn0ticD, I am also wondering what would happen if Queen Chrysalis took the form of the USA president and just used his power... oh i am SOOOOOOOOOO devious. Of course it would take more than just the form to be believable.  But she could take forms of lesser law officers and pave a way out of situations. Trust me... if given the chance i will go FULL BLOWN devious and break as many rules as possible...

I am trying to make them difficult. Two of them have excuses for being this knowledgeable. The rest are along for the ride. Really the only ones I've given much character are the leaders - save one - and through their skill, the others have knowledge. I will make them actually he a hard time once the ponies escape with their finders (or on their own, however it goes), but for now, they have the element of surprise.

@@Dawn Stripes, Yea but remember... Chrysalis might be a little bit softened... there's the added point of her being in love and the fact that she wants to keep this. If you pinch a hydra do you expect her not to react? If you piss of a dragon you expect something else than fireballs coming to you? Chrysalis might not be as evil as you would like... but make no mistake... she will feel no remorse if the situation calls for it. As i might have said before in the RP... she has killed her own maddened from hunger changelings in order to protect the rest. So she is not foreign to violence...

@@00Pony, The double-date idea sounds really fun... Dennis is in if you want him! But i guess you'd be talking about Fluttershy. Anyways...

On another question... what does it take to withstand a tazer? I mean... i've seen criminals on drugs (on tv) withstanding tazers.

The double date sounds like a good idea! We just need to be a bit more active… Maybe they can have the date whilst Colette performs at her concert??

 

I was planning on one last recon mission for the agents before they make their move -- and that would be at the party. This can also be where Twilight, Rarity, and Applejack can finally show their abilities. Both Changelings already have, but maybe they can do so again? The excrement can go flying right after Jack's race!

That's why i proposed a lesser law officer. Remember Queen Chrysalis impersonated with quite the big success Princess Cadence... but she did not attempt Celestia. Cadence was both in high-enough power position to influence other ponies but not in such a high position to be noticed or be needed as much as her... a perfect choice if you ask me. Shining Armor would have been an equally good choice but i prefer she didn't want to have the "jewels" of this stallion.

Except her reasoning for impersonating Cadence was to glean enough power from consuming Shining's love to be able to overthrow Tia. Likewise, Tia most likely would have been powerful enough to keep herself from kidnapped so easily as we must assume Cadence was.

 

Impersonation of any sort of government official, president, vice pres, congressman or otherwise, would still be reason enough for the agents to have all the more justification for nabbing the Queen and her subjects.

 

Really the only person in the government with enough power to make any sort of difference with law making and such would be the president, and that would require using the cheat of executive order (far to many of which have been made in the past five years). Impersonating a lesser government official would only add her opinion to the massive pool of existing opinions.

 

Intermission occurred. Hence this lengthy post.

Oh, I have nothing against how you play Chrysalis. It's different than what I would do, of course, but in no way less valid.

It's true that I would have played a much eviler Chrysalis. Much of my changeling headcannon comes from a fic called Mendacity.

 

And I don't know who would go on the double-date yet. 

 

And you know where the real power is, right? If Chrysalis really wanted to take over, she should replace the director of the NSA.

@@00Pony,@@Pripyat Pony, @@Hypn0ticD, I would like to mention here that we have not mentioned if Chrysalis has the crown on her. I would like for her to have it... it would be interesting at least. Maybe by lending the crown to someone else she could temporarily lend the powers of the "link" to the others wearing it. Of course she would still have it since the magic will have blended with her... To justify how none might have seen it so far i would like to say that she hides it under her clothes. 

Yes indeed that target seems likely. (Although i know next to nothing about what the NSA does and stuff) Anyways... 

My opinion is Queen Chrysalis is suffering from the biggest case of... "I don't give a fuck"... or perhaps this is just a defensive mechanism of hers to prevent her from the fact that she actually WANTS to feel and be better but is actually afraid of being hurt from it. That is why i am saying that she bears not true "hatred" towards the ponies... she simply sees them as boulders standing on her way.

It's funny how things work... some of the greatest and most imposing personalities in the world to have such psychological problems. Like denial, ignorance, ego... 

My opinion is that "This Day Aria" and her whole plan uncovers a big case of "Control Freak" upon Chrysalis... she wants everything the way she envisions them, she wants everything under her control. Maybe this was a result of her realising desperately that she DIDN'T have control. She couldn't stop the deaths of her own, she couldn't sit down and think calmly out of all the pressure, she couldn't succeed even partially at Canterlot. 

Last but not least i believe that Chrysalis is a person that follows the sentence "The end justifies the means"... she believes the end-the salvation of the changeling race and the end of their hunger- justifies any means nesseccary to achieve it. I could picture her even selling her soul to a higher power if it meant certainly achieving this. But on the other hand her "Control Freak" attitude prevents this.

All in all she isn't bound neither to good nor evil. She is a person that believes in the saying "I do... what i must." and perhaps that is why her heart has no room for Shining Armor's love... because she is more concerned about what she MUST do... maybe this is a form of her feeling "Duty" a term which is neither good nor evil. 

In the end she IS eligible for a proper redemption... and should be able to understand things like friendship, love, and all that stuff. Friendship doesn't always exists in the good side... it CAN exist in the evil side too...
