Compass was surprised to see that Novella was awake.She had been out cold for the longest time and Compass was starting to get worried. Compass Rose had just happened to hear her random mumbling. Too bad Plauge Doctor wasn't here, Maybe he knew what as wrong. 

 

"Good afternoon, Novella! I'm in a good mood right now, hooray! Do you want to come check out your new home?"

@@harmonyplus, Novella picks her head up from her hooves and looks Compass Rose in the eyes. Novella looks scared and her eyes look a bit wild.

"Um...Well I don't know...Sure..." She finally replies after a few minutes. Novella slowly stands, trying to put more weight on her other legs and not on her injured one. She is finally standing and blows her bangs out of her face. She looks back at Compass Rose with the same scared, crazy eyes she had before.

"Thanks. I need all the friends i can get in this world." He rolled open one of the bigger scrolls, one that had a mark. 

"This is a plan for....Well, as simply as possible, a flying ship. Not a modern ship, those are far too heavy. An older ship, like a pirate one. It uses the tech of hot air balloons and steam engines to move."

"god damn leaves." Kyz muttered under his breath, he had been chopping a path through the thick jungle for a while now. After he found the next clearing he decided that there was nothing else on this island except for him and the rest of the crew that made it. "Guess i better get these leaves back to the captain." He said to himself as he started to walk back. On the way he heard a twig snap, he looked around to see what caused it. When he was satisfied with his decision that he was completely insane he continued on his way back to camp.

"Welcome to the island, Novella. Gearbox over there is trying to build a ship to get us back home. I lit the fire with my own magic(Isn't that great!), Selune is helping Gearbox, Plague Doctor is meditating or something somewhere in the forest and Kyz went to do a border check. The hut-like thing is over there. Also, are you okay?" rambled Compass. 

 

She checked her watch. The time was 5:30, no time to waste.

@@harmonyplus, "I'm fine..." She whispered, mostly trying to convince herself that she was in fact, fine.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Novella whispered again, hoping that there was.

"You're fine. You're not crazy. The voices are wrong. You're fine." She thinks trying to convince herself because she knew that if she couldn't convince herself that she was fine then she would never convince the other ponies of it.

"Well, you do have a cutie mark in magic... I officially declare you as (Pause for effect) THE OFFICIAL FIRE-TENDER!"

Compass Rose made a "Bum-bada bum!" trumpet imitation and laughed. "No, seriously. You have to take care of the fire and feed it, we need that darn thing. Also, your special talent is magic, so I asume you are familiar with the fire spell, no? That is in case the fire goes off."

Kyz finally made his way back into the camp. He threw the pile of leave down on the beach next to the hut things. Then he walked up to the captain. "Ive got the leaves you wanted, good to see your able to stand up on that leg Novella," He said while looking out over the ocean just behind Novella

Compass smiled to see that Kyz was back,all it one piece. She levitated the leaves to the hut-like thing and stuffed them inside.

"Thank you for your help, Kyz." she said. She strolled up to a coconut tree. Hmm... she wondered. She levitated a coconut off the tree and carefully brought it down, not the easiest task, so it exausted her. Panting, she pointed at the coconut with her hoof and yelled "Hey! Lookit!"

 Novella perks up a bit.

"OO!" She exclaims in pure joy.

"How large do you want the fire? Bonfire or campfire size? I don't sleep all that much so I can keep it going all night!" She says excitedly.

"Oh hi again Kyznetsov!" She says noticing his presence.

Novella now has a goofy looking grin on her face, happy to help, but still has a crazy look in her eyes.

"Well...it would seem our little Novella here is a bit of a pyromaniac!" Kyz said jokingly, giving novella a playful punch on the shoulder. He looked back over at the captain "No problem cap...happy to be useful." He said heading over to the fire to get warm, he took his bottle of vodka our from under his shirt and took a quick swig. Kyz always seemed to think better when he was buzzed.

"You mean you can stay awake all night long? because there is only room for three in the tent, I mean you can sleep if you want, we just need fire until we complete the goals for today, also, a water purifying spell would be really useful right now" He said to Novella

"A peaceful night on this strange island." Walking on the shore. "I won't mind living in a place like this." Taking a seat on the sand looking out into the ocean. "Still need to find something that can fix my mask or I could make a tribal one." Throwing a rock into the water.

@, "I can do all of that! I don't really sleep a lot since I usually read or write all night so staying up will be easy! The fire and the water purifying spells will be simple. I could probably do them in my sleep!" Novella replies, still very excited to help.

She trots over to the fire and a soft blue aura starts to glow around her horn. She levitates a few logs into the fire and after a moment of concentration from Novella the fire bursts up to about twice its size. She then takes a seat by the fire, happy with her work.

Compass smiled. Everything was going according smoothly. Each crew member had something to do. "Alright, who wants to go to sleep for a little while and who wants to keep working? I can stay up and patrol and do stuff." She said.

Suddenly she noticed it was getting rather windy, so she took that into consideration.

"I'll stay up! I'm happy to." Novella answers. She takes out her research papers and a quill pen to get some writing done. She makes a few notes on the island and hears a twig crack from behind her. She turns and looks around. She doesn't see anything so she shrugs and goes back to writing.

"I could use some sleep, im really tired from all the rowing and building"

 

He walked towards the tent while saying "See you tomorrow and have a good night"

 

He got inside the tent and turned off the lantern, then he fell exhausted to the floor and he went asleep

"I feel i must mention one problem, captain." Gearbox awkwardly approached her. "But if this ship is going to work, we will need to...Well," He paused. "I can make adjustments to make this ship move without engines, but we still need sails, and rope. We could get some from the ship, but its miles underwater now. We wouldn't breathe or withstand the pressure."

@, "Hey! I'm joining you... seriously... this has been too much for a unicorn like me to handle. Its not like i am an Earth pony. Plus i think the effect of those heated seeds is starting to wear off." she blinked twice tears coming from her attempt to stay awake. "Sweet Celestia... my eyes. *yawn*"

``Well, I`m sure we can figure out something. I learned how to make ropes at my survival course. There`s plenty of things on this island.`` Said Compass. ``But why don`t we work on not dieing first.`` That seemed pretty logical, because putting all efforts in to making a boat would mean you are not putting any effort in finding food or water.

"Very well. Ill go to sleep for now then. I may stay up for a bit." Gearbox walked back to his scrolls and shifted among them, pulling out a quill and marking the pages, then took a fresh paper out and began to copy parts of the original ship schematics. It would be long work, but it'll take a while.

Novella was used to staying  up late and was fully awake. Her horn started glowing and moved a few logs in the fire making the fire spurt up once more. She flipped over on her back and looked at the stars. She tried to find various constellations to help try and pinpoint their location but the sky was to cloudy to allow her to do so. She went back to looking at the fire, trying not to be scared. "All alone...In the dark...Big scary island..." She thought, shuddering a bit. "Nothing to  be afraid of..."

Plague noticed Novella staring up at the stars. Walking quietly he stopped behind her, "Beautiful night isn't it?" speaking softly. "Care if I take a seat with you?" Looking at the fire. "This is only day one on this strange island, but it can only get better right?" A part of a smile could be seen through the crack in him mask.

Kyz woke up with a jump. He had been dreaming about the crash and how he was sucked under the water. He got up and headed over to the fire and sat on a log opposite Novella and Plague. "I dont like this place." he said to the two, "it always feels like im being watched you know? And all i can think about is how long it will be before i get to sleep in my bed again." He finished by taking another swig from his canteen.
