Swordpoint grinned. "I have already taken precautions against Knightfall. He is too weak to take over again. My supression magic made sure of that. The healing of Rune's horn was an unexpected side effect."

 

He turned to face Crimson. "But... who is this other pony of whom you speak? I must know if it is--" Swordpoint felt the presence once again. He turned to the sky and stared. He swore he saw a glimpse of blue among the clouds. "... I must cut this short. I will return." Swordpoint extended his wings and took off into the sky.

 

He closed his eyes and searched for it again. Oddly enough, he felt it from inside the tournament building... from the spectators' area. He glided down toward the doorway into the spectators' lobby. As he entered, a crowd of ponies gasped and began to point. He heard muttered insults, and whisperings of "traitor" and "worthless." But he felt her. Rainbow... or somepony just like her. He scanned the room and found a pony in a black robe. He approached slowly, but the pony noticed him and quickly galloped toward the exit. Swordpoint tried to follow, but the spectators refused to move aside for him. He'd lost the mysterious pony. "Damn!" he cursed.

@@Umbreon, Standoff staggered with the relief of the shadows leaving, but steadied himself quickly. He walked up to Lite and looked down at her sadly. Then, his face hardened. "Forfeit this." He raised his hoof and brought it down hard on her throat, then took her head by the mane and tore it clean off. Tossing it to one side, he waved to the crowd.

(Sorry, Umby, but Standoff knows when to put on a show.)

 

"...Oh my god it was... So beautiful!" Topaz said in shock. "Blood and guts squirting everywhere! As if from a burst tomato! I'm sure any audience member that caught that head is going to cherish it for years to come!"

 

The ref gingerly made her way to the stage and looked at the bloody mess. "Eww! Who's going to clean all that up? It's not my job, is it?"

 

"Juri, can you please declare the winner?"

 

"Right!" The ref piped up and grabbed Standoff's hoof. "Lite Shade is down and will not be up by a ten count! The winner by death is STANDOFF!"

 

"You heard it right here, fans! Standoff is moving on to the Semi-Finals! And I must say, I'm really starting to like this pony!"

 

As a few tournament workers began removing the mess from the arena, Juri held her mic out to Standoff. "If you have anything to say, now would be a good time."

@, Standoff smiled at Juri. "Thank you very much, Juri." He took the microphone and looked to the crowd. "Well, I think this was a good way to start the day off. And let me tell you! I have two more fights to win! This mess is just getting started!" He handed back the microphone, and said to Juri, "You know, I used to know another Juri. He ran a circus. I think you'd like each other." Thus said, he walked out the way he'd come in.

Swordpoint glanced at the monitor in the spectators' lobby. He saw Standoff tear Lite Shade's head off, and he felt rage boiling inside him. "She was unarmed, and she had surrendered! I promise you, Standoff, I am the last pony you want to face, now. Your end will not be pleasant, for your crimes have condemned you." He turned and exited through the door to stadium three.

 

Rune Breaker and Crimson were conversing amongst themselves, looking confused. He gently floated down toward them.

Rail was no longer in his box seat. Instead he was walking about the hallways outside of the rings, seemingly aimlessly, with a bored expression and a cigarette in his mouth.

"Yeah, the great thing about it is it's runic, so the longer you have it the more powerful it will become, like some big battery you can store in or draw from," Rune Beaker yawned his eyes drooping, "just don't absorb it all at once like you did the last one or break it cause the alchemy circle is in there somewhere and I don't know what it might do to you..." His head was bobbing up and down eyes slowly closing falling asleep standing up, "but it's made of my magic too so," a large yawn, " since my magic is getting better at resisting Knightfall it should," yawn, "slow the curse and be more fire resist....." Rune fell asleep then and there.

 

However his eyes slowly open and shook his head back forth, his irisis blood orange and oval pupils. "Heh, Swordpoint good to see you again, got any questions about that curse of yours? Cause if not get out of my way I have work to do," Knightfall grinned cruelly. Rune's body remained almost the same except for his tongue which had become slightly forked.

Crimson chuckled at runes sleepyness, "you need more sleep my friend, why don't you go get some sleep before mine and swordpoints match begins?" Asked crimson patting rune on the back still chuckling, "besides, I need to talk to swordpoint alone....its not that I don't trust you, i just don't want that freak sharing your body to hear what I'm about to say...." said crimson darkly.

He gestured to a sign above his head that said 'RESTROOMS' and pointed down the hallway. "You seem to have taken our last conversation very literally." He said. "One should be always oblivious... Or is it aware? I can never remember." After speaking he put the cigarette back into his mouth. "There's something that's been bugging me. Can you tell me who exactly was responsible for Lite Shade's death. Think hard, now."

@, Standoff looked into the distance, and then frowned. "There are a few answers to that question. I could say I was responsible, but that's way too obvious. A better answer would be to say she killed herself. She could have gutted me easily, but that isn't it either, is it?" Then he smiled. "I know who killed her. You did. Money runs this contest, and you've shown me you've plenty of that." Standoff leaned forward. "So what's your motivation, eh? Not the goodness of your heart. There isn't any. You're too smart to have bet too heavily on me. So, what is it?"

That's what we do. Eat and destroy until nothing is left but piss. And naturally, those without the power to kill have to settle with watching it."

Swordpoint ignored Knightfall. ”Come. We must return to the lobby. And Rune... Sleep. Do not weaken yourself.” He led them back into the lobby and made sure that Rune got a bed in the infirmary.

 

As he entered the hall with Crimson, he stopped. ”what do you need to discuss?”

Crimson sighed before looking at swordpoint with a serious look, "the other pony who wants the nexus.....I know who he is.....but you wouldn't believe me if I told you....." said crimson sadly before punching a wall, leaving a large hoof-shaped crater, "even if you did believe me.....you would never trust me anymore...." said crimson, now leaning his head against the wall.

Swordpoint was distant and distracted. That pony... Could it be her? I pray that it is. If I could just know that she lives... My heart would not be so fearful.

Cosmo watched with shock at the monitor in the waiting room. He was so focused on Lite's corpse that he almost missed his fight's announcement. "Standoff... You just pissed off the wrong Unicorn..." Cosmo thought, he wasn't in love with Lite or anything but ponies with powers like hers were very rare and almost always fascinating. Cosmo reached the first arena and looked at Goldre, his next opponent. "If she dies, she dies." Cosmo thought with a cold certainty that he hadn't felt in years. "If she's smart, she'll surrender."

Cosmo prepped his enchantment spell, gathering magic around his hooves for quick reactions and unsheathed Altiar, levitating it for the moment he heard, "go."

My riseing emotions caused my magic to activate, and let me read your mind while you were gazing off.......I'm sorry swordpoint, but the pony who's here isn't dash......its....my father...." crimson then sighed, "he remembers the night I eatched him kill my sister and wants satisfaction in seeing me die in this tournament, then after my death, take the wish as a bonus prize......his name is "umbra void" and he's possibly the most evil, greedy, ruthless, and powerful pony to ever curse equestria.....and he's here at the tournament.....waiting o make his move...." said crimson darkly.

Crimson raised an eyebrow, "then I'm sorry to inform you that you've been seeing the wrong stalker, I know he's here, he just hasn't shown himself yet.......and no.......he can't be saved.......I made the mistake of giving him that chance once.......and he used that opprotunity to kill my sister......he was born evil.......but I wont be like him......no....I'll kill him and send his black soul to hell where he belongs......I swear on my sister.......I swear on violet rose.....I will kill my father!!" Said crimson ominously.

(Hey guys sorry for that delay that made my response so strange haha had a work shift that got in the way)

 

Knightfall let the two ponies lead him along, he could at least pretend that Rune still had some control but he was so far off in his dreams that nothing Knightfall did right now would rouse him.

 

After they left he got up, 'Now time to go have a little talk with the ponies running this show.'  He trotted out of the infirmary and set out to find the Tournament Committees box seating.

Goldre moaned at the mention of her name, but kicked off the cloud full of energy.

'I feel so hyped-up!' she thought.

She spread her wings and sped straight towards the arena, only to stop inches from the floor and land as gently and as gracefully as a butterfly.

"Golden Dreams reporting for duty!" she said. "Terror Night's here, too!"

Seeing Goldre's graceful entrance cooled Cosmo's anger about Lite enough to regain his composure. He smiled and gave his opponent an up nod. "I hope you aren't planning on me being defensive this time. Bad Dreams and I are connected so killing her would've been an issue, you and I are not. Though I'll gladly accept your surrender, I won't hold back a killing blow if it's necessary," although he could live with doing so, Cosmo didn't want to kill anyone this tournament except Standoff. "The bucker likes decapitations does he... Arh! Focus Cosmo, Golden Dreams is your opponent!"

Silver Storm directed his attention to the other arena. He saw Goldre enter so he knew it was time for her next match. Both her and Cosmo were both ready for thier match to go underway. "Yeah! Go Goldre!" Silver shouted In encouragement. He was curious to see how things would go down so naturally he was excited for it.

Knightfall had found his way to the committee's private seating, several groups of different creatures and ponies stood outside the door, obviously the bodyguards of the committee.

 

Knightfall approached cautiously, these were dangerous warriors and he was still weak and the committee inside was not something to trifle with. "I would like to humbly request an audience with the committee, please inform the Black Black Club that Knightfall will be joining them to watch the remainder of this rounds fights." He stood waiting as a Minotaur turned to speak into an intercom.

Swordpoint calmly walked out of the lobby through the winding hallways, casting a tracer spell. He found exactly who he was looking for. Standoff should be just beyond that hallway... Are those voices?
