Swordpoint chuckled. "But you won't. Even she could kill you. I've been training her myself, you see." Swordpoint found a piece of paper at last that looked promising. This is... yes. A report on manipulating energy.

Swordpoint glanced at Umbra. "Oh, and you should be aware that the last pony to harm Rainbow Dash died painfully... as I tore out his innards."

Radio continues to knock on her neighbors door, "Hello?" Could somepony be taking out contestants outside the ring? If this pony does not answer the bloody door in about five seconds I am liquifying it and figuring what's going on in there if it's the last thing I do! She knocks louder.

Umbra grinned and chuckled sadistically, "and you should know......its not that my son can't reach me to kill me.......its just that he simply can't kill me! I can't tell you how many so called POWERFUL freinds of his I've killed only to have my own son gut me, drown me, hang me, behead me, burn me to ash, poison me, beat me, and even MAUL me to death........only for me to get right back up and ruin his life, over, and over, and over......until he no longer wishes to live..." said umbra before laughing like a psycopath.

Crimsons head shot up as he heard a knock on the door, followed by a voice, crimson quickly rushed to the door and threw it open, only to see radio giving him a suspicious look, "radio, am I glad to see you! Do you know where swordpoint is? I can't locate his aura and I must help him, he's in danger!" Said crimson hurridly.

"I guess that's one way to say, 'I'm fine..." she mumbles. "I don't know where he is, no. But I can look." She put her helmet on, a glow from her satchel imminent until she closed it. She put it on her head, with a light hiss as it sealed. "Are you coming?" she as she turned to leave.

Crimson nodded, "of course I'm going, but are you sure you know where your going? I couldn't locate his aura becouse my father has put up some sort of telepathic shield, and before you ask, yes, I just said my father is with swordpoint, trust me its a VERY long story, maybe I'll tell you some other time, but for now we need to find swordpoint." Said crimson before following radio.

Swordpoint pocketed the report and continued searching for more documents. "I see. Regenerative tissue. It would not be the first instance I have faced. Such problems are often solved by the complete and total destruction of the body." He tilted his head as he remembered. "I believe I threw the last one into Mount Cauldra. The lava took care of the rest. Now, do you mind? I'm a very busy stallion."

Umbra void growled, "your no fun......maybe I'll just go tell the tournament commitee about you snooping around in rails office......I wonder what they'll say......ignore me if you want, but be warned......I could easily tell them that your little marefreind, crimson, or even that freak rune breaker had stolen the documents..." said umbra with a sneer.

Swordpoint sighed. "Do what you wish. It's no concern of mine." He found a letter from a pony called "Big Shot" to Rail, which he hastily pocketed. "I will kill the committee if I must. They cannot stand up to me. As for you, I grow weary of your annoyance. Begone." Swordpoint extended his wings, and his golden aura surrounded umbra's apparition. He released it with a flash of bright light. "Banishing spell. Perfect for eliminating pesky summoned creatures and ponies."

Umbra hissed as the spell took effect, "have it your way then! But know this scorned one......just becouse I can't harm you now doesn't mean I couldn't kill you or your little marefriend when you arrive at my island......or......you could persuade my son not to search for me, I could lift that pesky curse for you.....just think about it and call me if you reconsider.....I'll find you..." said umbra darkly before dissappearing into the shodows.

Cosmo sensed a lot of magic around him, but he was unwilling to disturb Cinder. "That's the power I felt before Crimson asked us to join him. The power of his father... But that magic just now belonged to Swordpoint, so either the problems been dealt with or it soon will be." Cosmo watched Cinder, her head resting on his chest as a pillow. "I'll be fighting Standoff in just a few hours... Why does he freak me out..? I guess it's the home field advantage he has, being the commitee's puppet and all. He's more than an average earth pony, that's for bucking sure. But I'm going defeat him." Cosmo promised, thinking about his pact with Swordpoint, "If I don't, it'll be that much harder for Swordpoint to win this thing... But above all," Cosmo gave Cinder a faint squeeze, "I'm going to return so I can be with you, Cinder."

"We're going to go to the place where energy seems to be disappearing, which is impossible because energy can't be destroyed," replies Radio. She makes her way out of the hotel and quickens her pace towards the designated location. "Now then, you can spare me the family history lesson and get down to whether or not Swordpoint is in danger."

Crimson frowned, "swordpoint isn't exactly in any physical danger, more like mental and emotional danger, my father is very sick, twisted, and manipulative, he doesn't care who he hurts or how he hurts them, just as long as he gets what he wants......but trust me, as long as long as my father isn't actually there with swordpoint, then noones in any real danger.....at least unless they listen to him that is..." said crimson as he followed radio.

"I'm not one to talk about brevity, but you seriously need to cut back on the melodrama. I feel like we're in some sort of sitcom," she mumbles. "Does this void feel like something your father can do?" she asks, stepping in front of a locked door. She frowns at the lock as she morphed the keyhole so her key would work. Surprising lack of security for a lock...

Crimson raised an eyebrow, "that's strange......this is my fathers aura.....but it seems as though its dispersing......maybe he already left.....try opening the door, I hope swordpoints ok..." said crimson wearily, as he searched frantically for his fathers aura, but failed, "damn! He must be hiding his aura! But the good news is I can still sense swordpoints aura..." said crimson with a sigh of relief.

Radio opens the door, magic ready. "Well, there's Swordpoint," she says while scanning the room for traps. She steps inside, "He would appear to be in normal, though slightly distressed condition. End log entry, edit out the last couple of minutes and put them into a separate file labled 'Crimson Case.'" She begins to realize that her helmets functions would be unknown to her present company. "Apologies, my helmet was recording."

Swordpoint glanced up when the door opened. When he saw Radio and Crimson, he relaxed. "What are you doing here? And how did you bypass the lock? I trust you did not force it or break it, no?"

He took the papers from his pockets. "I've found two promising documents. While I have my suspicions, I must find Rail to confirm or deny them." He fixed his gaze on Crimson. "Have you seen him since he was in the stadium?"

Crimson raised an eyebrow, "no.....that's the last time I saw him......but one of his lackeys DID say somthing suspicious.....all he said was, its time.....does that mean anything to either of you? Becouse it makes no sense to me..." said crimson suspiciously, while leaning against a desk.

"Well," Swordpoint mused, "I cannot say for certain... but I have an idea. In addition... I've discovered that they do not yet have a portal to the nexus. However... I suspect that they intend to create one, and soon. These documents are filled with riddling information, which is why I must find Rail. Only he can confirm or deny my suspicions, and I need only speak with him." Swordpoint took a deep breath. "I realize that I will greatly endanger myself by doing so, but... I have no choice. The powers of the nexus are far too great. They must not be allowed to fall into his hooves."

Radio takes her helmet off, "Well, I'm out of the loop. I didn't break the lock, I changed it. I have no idea what this nexus thingy is. I think all significant parties are safe until further notice annnnnd," she sighs, "I have absolutely no idea what to do now." She absently takes the crystal out of her pack and rolls it in her hooves. The glow still hadn't diminished.

"What in Luna's name is so important that you ponies refuse to sleep?!" snapped the image of a sleepy eyed Cosmo, as he materialized between them. "Sweet Luna, there's no way I'll be able to go back to sleep now. Ok, so what is this Nexus thing and why are you here?" Cosmo's illusion asked Swordpoint and Radio. "I use a scrying spell to make sure you guys are ok and now I'm worked up about this stuff along with you..." the image muttered.

Swordpoint sighed. "Hello, Cosmo. I suppose I should explain somewhat." He cleared his throat.

"The nexus," he began, "is the void between space and time. It is what holds our world together. It is the very heart of existence. Within it lies untold power... the power to change the very fabric of this world. To harness this power requires a sacrifice of one's very being." He took a deep breath. "Imagine the nexus as a hallway which connects many places. Every time a portal to it is opened, a door is created within the nexus. However, there is one door inside which seldom opens... the door to its heart. Within the heart of the nexus lies the proverbial primordial soup. Should one step through the threshold, they shan't return... although they will gain the power to change anything and everything." His eyes narrowed. "I believe Rail intends to find a way to harness this power without sacrificing himself. I'm sure you can comprehend the possible chaos that would ensue."

Whistling, Standoff wandered around the arenas and subsequent areas. This was an interesting place. There were armories, a morgue, and, most interesting of all, a security room. This last article was where Standoff was now, and the goings-on in Rail's office were intersting, without a doubt.

(thank you for reminding me of that rule. Still here, people.)

Cosmo stared for a moment and nodded. "I just had to ask didn't I..? Ok so... Are you sure he's going after the Nexus? Rail seems a little laid back for a guy trying to become what sounds like a god. Not to mention the whole fatherhood thing he has with Topaz. I get the feeling he's clean... at least clean compared to the rest of this place. I think it would be worth it to check the other offices. I recall some of the security mention some pony named Big Shot, I'll check his office for info on this Nexus and tell you what I find." With that Cosmo's illusion disintegrated and carefully left his room, making sure not to disturb Cinder and leaving a note explaining where he went if she woke up. Sneaking into Big Shot's office was easy, given his skill set, and he soon came across some reports and letters from several ponies, many Cosmo knew as specialists in tracking magical entities. "Swordpoint probably won't like this..." Cosmo quickly finished his search, carefully putting everything back as it was, and reported to Swordpoint.

"A door to the big bang... A place that could change everything with little more than the sacrifice of one life..." The place I've been searching for my entire life, to make sure the humans never level Equestria with the nuclear weapons, and we never level Earth with our magical blasts...

Swordpoint nodded to Radio. "Yes... that is the truth behind it. It has been a closely guarded secret, known only to few. There was an ancient civilization which discovered it... but that knowledge died with them. That is... until the reapling invasion." He shuddered as painful memories flooded his mind. "I have seen the heart of the nexus... and I have stepped inside it. Even I do not know what force was capable of returning me to the living. Only imagine seeing everything that is, everything that was, and everything that will be... and being given the choice to rearrange it all."

Swordpoint turned to Cosmo. "Did you find something interesting?" He felt certain that there wasn't much that could change things, considering his suspicions. However, he was willing to hear any additional information. I must find Rail. He's certainly dirty... if only Cosmo could see this. Big Shot is merely a pawn... nothing more.
