looking back to the stage, Bowen nods again, "Yeah, she can play. She didn't show you yet?"

 

He glances back at Rainbow, shrugging, "I lived down the street from her most, if not all, my life. We never really hung out very often outside of school though. But as you can see, she does have friends." He gestures to the band as he says this.

Colette waved to the group as they joined Bowen, eyeing Rainbow the entire time-- what was she facepalming for??

 

"Welcome, welcome students!" A voice suddenly rang out over the loudspeakers. "Another year has come to a close here at Case High, and so closes another chapter in all of your young lives," a stout middle-aged man began "this is especially true for our seniors! Congrats to you, class of 2013!" He added, all of seniors whooping and cheering loudly in response. The man let them cheer a moment before putting the mic back to his mouth. "It was truly an honor to be your head principal, and I wish you all nothing but the best in wherever life may take you! For the rest of you, your studious efforts have advanced you thus far, and you've all earned a well deserved two and a half month break from all your teachers!" Another pause for a cheer from all of the students, then he spoke again. "Well, you've been waiting long enough! Let's kick things off with our cheerleaders!"

"That, my dear Fluttershy, is the sound of a super fast response!" Shawn answered.

"Looks like Rainbow's really worried about you! I'm gonna reply but I think I should take a picture of you first, to help put her at ease," Shawn said, pulling out his phone. "Just sending a message won't be enough. Maybe you can say something as well? I'll type it down and send it to her."

Debating whether or not if it would be rude to ask, Stephen erred on the side of caution and didn't ask… He could ask later if he wanted! "Well that doesn't sound like much of a reason to not negotiate to me--Unless draining their emotions weakens them…"

 

Having finished his dinner, Stephen took his plate into the kitchen. "Well, it's getting late, and I have work in the morning, so why don't I straighten up my room so you have a place to sleep? I'll ask my brother how his imaginary date went when he gets back."

 

"Thanks," Cicada replied. "And just so you know, emotion draining doesn't weaken them at all, unless you get greedy and take too much at any one time. My queen made that mistake once, and we all learned from it. If you just take a little bit here and there, the pony isn't even aware of it."

Fluttershy croosed her arms over the table and set her head down on it. When it came back up, she was smiling. "Thank you, Shawn. Tell her I'm okay, and not to feel bad. And ask her how everypony else is doing, if you would, please." Fluttershy took another bite of salad, but slowly fell through intertia, on a path that led to her folding her arms in her lap and smiling at nothing in particular.

Harry felt a little bored; this rally was starting to become all speeches and not enough action. She walked up to Colette. "Fancy a guitar duel?" she asked. "We can just stand up and challenge each other in a moment, and begin. It'll liven this place up a bit, get everyone started."

Stephen raised an eyebrow. "Oh??" Refraining from saying anything more on the matter, he went to his bedroom. "I'll be back out in a minute."

 

It didn't take long for Stephen to get his room in order, as all he had to do was pick up tfe few odd items lying here or there. Once he was done, he called out to her. "Cicada, my room's ready!"

((Before any of you ask, asked me to post Chloe's cheer routine! I also got lazy and posted the same video from the OOC thread. Sue me.))

 

At the cue, Chloe led the squad into the center of the gym floor, waving to all her friends, who loudly cheered her on.

 

Chloe stood stock still as she got into position, the other cheerleaders following suit. Time to remind Jerome I. Case why their cheerleaders are the best in the world!

The cheerleaders kept their formation tight, the girls spacing themselves as they executed their flips, Chloe catching some big air as she was sent flying, spinning on her way down, earning screams of adoration from the crowd.

 

The cheer squad shifted from this formation to that, building their way up to the finale, a crown formation pyramid-- sending the already raucous crowd into a frenzy.

 

Other cheer squads can go eat their hearts out!

After sending the message, Shawn looked at the clock on his clock, and saw it was getting late. "Fluttershy, we should head on out... I'll let you know what Rainbow Dash says. Do you work tomorrow?" He asked as he powered down his laptop, putting it back in his backpack.

"It's beyond me how these girls can pull all that off," he said.

At the pub, Jack quickly sent Charles a message.

"Sorry," he said to the group, first, "normally I don't text at the table, but I have to let Charles know what we're up to."

 

Hey Charles, we're at La Bella's Italian Pub right now. It's right nearby the mall. How are things going with you and Rarity?

The waitress came around, and took drink orders.

"I'll take a Coke," Jack responded.

"I guess I'll just... go with a water," Twilight responded, after seeing all sorts of unfamiliar drinks in the menu.

Jack then turned to the group after they ordered their drinks.

"Don't worry, guys, dinner's on me tonight," Jack said to the group. "In other words, get what you want."

"Well, that's quite easy," Mrs. Dean answered, applauding the cheerleaders for their performance. "Most of those girls have been cheering for most of their lives. Of course, a little more practice never hurt anyone!"

"Looks like the cheerleaders beat you to the punch!" Colette joked. "Ask the the principal if I can join you during your set!" She added as she applauded for the cheerleaders. Though cheerleading was not her thing, Chloe and company were DAMNED GOOD.

"Indeed, it will be until we figure out a way to get you home!" Stephen called from the bathroom, as he was changing into his pyjamas. Once done, he stepped out, allowing Cicada access should she need it.

 

Stephen then turned his laptop back on, in the hopes that either Blaze or Sunday Girl sent a response. Sure enough, there was a reply from Sunday Girl! "Well, I'll be damned." Stephen said aloud as he read it. "Sunday Girl corroborated your story, Cicada."

Does Diliges know where Queen Chrysalis is? Has she got into contact with you at all?

"Let's hear it one more time for our lovely cheerleaders!" The principal said as he made his way back to the gym floor, joining the audience in applause as Chloe led the squad off makeshift stage floor.

 

This gave Colette and crew their cue to set themselves up. Colette looked up to the bleachers, frowning. Rainbow Dash was far too busy playing around on her phone!

 

"…And now, give a warm welcome to our next performers, Unnamed*!"

 

At that, the band began to play, the first of their two song set, earning a few cheers from the crowd:

Although she would've like to gave taken the lead on, Zach did an excellent job playing, allowing her to play rhythm as she sang, occasionally going up to the crowd, earning even more cheers for the group.

Rainbow made a decent conscious effort to let herself be distracted by the performance, giving Colette a cheer when she came onstage, and even stomping while she clapped--why the hay not? No one would notice anyway.

She was pretty good, at that. Rainbow smiled as the music filled the walls. Too bad they didn't have anyone like Colette in Ponyville. She'd miss the girl.

But... something was missing. A purpose, a cause. When he became a brony he though he had found one, and although he was sure it was here... he had a hunch that he hadn't found it yet. He followed the signs that his instinct showed him that perhaps he could find it in the new girl Rachel/Rachelle. That or he was just crazy and one huge pathetic a-hole. 

"Enjoying the show? I believe we haven't been introduced... my name is Dennis nice to meet you." he said offering his hand for a handshake.

Rainbow twisted in her seat. Some high school boy, lookin' to say hello. Well, she should. Why not? Friendship is as friendship does.

She stuck her hand--useful for texting, she now had to admit, though it lost so much against hooves--and shook his arm. "Rainbow. Nice to meet ya', Dennis. The show's cool, I got a pal on stage."

Cheerleading wasn't entirely something that interested Bowen. While yes, the moves they managed to pull off were impressive, he felt the uniforms were lacking severely in modesty. Yes, you can do very acrobatic movements, do you have to be half naked to do them? It was all a manner of respect in the boy's head, really. Case's weren't as bad as some, but the manner still stood.

 

But all the same, he clapped. 

 

He heard Rainbow addressing someone, and he turned his attention to see who it was, recognizing Dennis. He gave him a small wave, whether he saw it or not, before turning his attention back to the stage. Colette and her band were about to perform.

Jack turned to Applejack to answer her question.

"You see, a Guiness is a type of beer, beer being a popular beverage in our world," Jack said to her, "However, due to the fact that alcohol, a somewhat dangerous substance when in large amounts, is in beer, you must be at 21 years of age or older in order to consume it."

Jack laughed a bit, as he knew that he had consumed alcohol before, despite only being 19. He wasn't proud of it, but it is what it is, he always thinks.

"Rainbow. Nice to meet ya', Dennis. The show's cool, I got a pal on stage."

 
 It wasn't the name Colette mentioned. He widened his eyes just for a split second but then changed to a smile so he didn't look weird. 

"I know her... and we met earlier. You did a victory sign at me i think." he allowed her a moment to remember.

"I don't know if you have read a book... it's called "The Thirty-Nine Steps". When a spy or someone is general pretends to be someone, or hides his identity, he/she does not forget the name of the person he/she is impersonating... Rainbow." he said winking at her but otherwise remaining quiet.

The bass and melody of the song filled the air, silencing the crowd for but a moment before more cheers erupted as Colette began to sing, strumming out the rhythm tabs as she ran around as best she could:

 

"Step by step, I've come closer to reaching the top/ Every step must be placed so that I don't fall off Looking down to see about how much higher I am Another cool wind comes through and brushes my skin/…"

 

Colette crooned to the crowd, not being able to help but smile as she heard loud cheers. She spun around and marched in place as she came to one of her favorite parts of the song, kicking her knees up as high as she dared without hitting her guitar:

 

"Although many failed, I must now prevail with no question/ Have no time to stop Onward to the top of the mountain/ Oooh, and I can't turn back now Its so very high but I can't turn back now/ If I keep it up, I'm gonna make it

 

I'm so very close can't you see---"

 

The cheers reached a crescendo after Colette delivered a powerful note. She took a dramatic step back towards the rest of the band, her eyes scanning the audience as she did so. Was Rainbow paying any attention??

 

The song ended, and the entire group took a bow, basking in the energy of crowd as they cheered and whistled. "Who wants another song??" Colette asked, garnering another loud cheer. "Can't hear you! What was that??" She teased, getting an even louder cheer. "Okay! One more! Can't keep the other acts waiting, ya know!"

 

With that, the group was off and playing again, their music once again filling the air:

Colette was once again out and about on the gym floor, strumming the rhythm tabs as she worked the crowd again, leaning into the cheerleader squad a moment before running out to the middle of the gym floor

 

"I open up, you ignore me"

 

Colette's eyes met Rainbow's the very instant she sang that line. Good, it looks like she's paying attention! Colette then ran over to Connor as they seemed to have a mini duel, Colette jumping back as if she were being struck, Connor jumping and advancing as if he were pushing her away.

 

Colette then ran back to the center of the gym floor, in time to deliver the final lines:

 

" Washed up on the shore/ Given me one last chance to try some more/ But, let's end it on this Let's end it on THIIII-------S!"

 

She loved that last line! She sang it with as much gusto as she could, which paid off as the crowd went wild yet again. Taking another bow, the group took their leave, Colette blowing kisses and waving to the crowd.

"It's okay, my dear Cate!" Shawn said as he paid for the tab. "Meet me here round noon tomorrow, and I'll tell ya what Rainbow. I'll try to get dome information outta her, too! We need to know where she is so we can get you two reunited!"

 

Shawn led Fluttershy out the door of the cafe, leading her back to her home. "This is a rather stupid question, but do the humans you live with know that you're a Pegasus??"

Pinkie wanted to know if anypony had found her friends and if they'd replied on the video that Blaze had put up. She was very impatient.

Rarity was in her element trying on different clothes; some fancy gowns, and some casual clothes. All the clothes that Rarity picked out were stylish and tasteful. She again wished that her friends would let her make them over.

Clare sent off one last message before shutting down the laptop; she'd been showing Diliges some more MLP shows when her laptop beeped to tell her she had mail. She messaged Stephen to tell him her exact address as well as adding that Diliges had been in contact with the Queen and so had Cicada cuz they had a messaging system called the Hive Mind. She suggested Stephen ask Cicada about it.

Cicada went to bed; she was yawning and feeling tired so decided it would be best. After calling out a goodnight to Stephen, she went to bed and fell asleep almost right away.

Harry had asked the principal, who agreed at once. So when Colette's set was finished, she would join Harry. The song that Harry was going to play was Freebird; it made her wrists ache a little, but was very impressive, guitarwise.

Rainbow hollored for Colette, watching her canter around the stage with a laugh, while listening to 'Dennis' pledge his assistance for...something. Not a creep, she forced herself to think as she plastered a smile on her face and watched, regretfully, the band leave so some cheerleading routine could get going. It wasn't nearly as interesting when it was all mares here on Earth. Don't auto-react to every brony who comes up to you, you have a public image to work with here.

"Well thanks, dude!" she leaned over the back of her chair and grinned. "I'm doin' pretty cool right now, though, you know what I'm sayin'?"

Then something struck her, and she blinked. Well, there was--nah. No way.Just cause some boy was offering to help didn't mean he wanted to do something like that. She banished the thought.

"Oh. Well. Um..." Fluttershy shrugged a little and stared out the window, thinking of Alex. "They don't exactly--care about ponies, I guess? I--I mean, it's fine! I'm a human right now, and that's what's important, and they've been very nice, really they have." She didn't mention toxic love triangles or shattered hearts moping around the apartment like a mangy dog all day. Some problems should stay private.
