writing Aging eyes

As far the ocean expands

So too is my desire to know

Upon desolate heights above the world

And to which I see but the earth below

My humble eyes to be made weary

By years of sights

By ages of things to see

And at the end of every day

My aging eyes to see

A simple thing, most grand

Of the eternal flame

And starlight’s greatest themes
