Star Rain walked to behind and in-between Flare and Ruby, about to say something, then she heard the mare say,"Oh, I bet whoever you're helping can wait." In reality, both Star and Ruby knew which pony he was talking about. Ruby didn't notice the purple unicorn until Mrs. Hoofton said,"Oh you're here too, Star Rain?" Ruby then jerked her head around and gave a small scream. "OH MY GOSH, WHEN DID YOU GET HERE?!" Ruby screamed, going from frightened to angry.

Flare turned to see Star Rain behind them both. "Hey Star when did you get here" Flare said as he didnt notice Rubys change of attitude. "So anyways Mrs. Hoofton I herd music coming from inside you class room" Flare said. "Oh that I play the flute I didnt know you would be coming here for fith period" Mrs. Hoofton said. "No I dont have fith period here...speaking of class I need to head to my Biology class before im late I juust came here to get my drawing paper I left here" Flare said as Mrs. Hoofton gaver him his drawing paper. "I'll see both of you after school I guess" Flare said as he turned to Ruby and Star.

Corona payed no mind to the mares poking fun at her since she'd just gotten asked out by Sterling. Before Corona went into her class she noticed Snowdream walking the halls looking lonely. "Hey Snowdream...I was wondering if you wanted to hang out after school? I just moved here so I don't know many cool places yet." Corona reached into her saddlebag pulling out the Cupcake Explosion she didn't get a chance to eat. "Here Snow I want you to have this as a sign of us becoming friends ok." Corona gave a kind smile while she held the cupcake out with one hoof.

 

(OOC: Off to work will post from my phone when possible.)

Snowdream watched the many ponies moving about the school, mainly they seemed to travel in groups of three or four. Suddenly one of the faces seemed familiar. It was Corona.

"Yeah sure, I'd love to hangout after school. I don't really have any friends here so that would be awesome!" She said happily she accepted the gift corona gave her.

"I'd love to chat, but I'd better get to class. Been late to two of them already, not to mention the one I accidentally skipped completely." She said. She waved a hoof goodbye and went to find her classroom. She entered the biology classroom and found there was only the teacher and three other students in the room. Snowdream sat at a table in the middle of the room and waited.

Sterling sat earnestly to see what would happen on his very first class in music. Their music teacher was a green unicorn with a piano as his cutie mark, since he was a classy pianist himself. He looked pretty small for a stallion and had a small mustache on his face. However, Sterling didn't care much for his looks; he just wanted to see how this class would begin! The music teacher introduced himself as Mr. Fasthooves. It was his nickname because he was well known for his jazz and classical interpretations; his virtuosity was unmatched by many ponies in the known world.

 

Mr. Fasthooves was a friendly sort of pony; you could tell he wanted to get his students to be involved with music and its diversity. He showcased all sorts of music from different periods by playing it on the piano: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, even Impressionistic music. However, one particular song caught Sterling off guard; it was a song he heard in a movie. It was a personal favourite of his because it left him with great satisfaction once the movie was over; he knew the power of music in musical movies like that one. It apparently was a particular favourite for Mr. Fasthooves because it embodied the best of jazz music that grew in New Orneeighs. "You know, I'm actually from New Orneeighs, the home of the great Louis Neighstrong. I heard him play the trumpet in some of the many concerts held there. It inspired me to be involved with music all my life!"

After Mr. Fasthooves introduced the music class, he introduced a very special guest: Octavia. "Now class, with me today is a very special guest. She is a professional cellist at the Canterlot Symphony Orchestra and is actually a friend of mine. We met in New Orneeighs when their orchestra toured here for a jazz concert. Now, please welcome with a warm applause, Octavia!" Sterling was so excited to hear Octavia speak about music. Her life embodied the type of music he loved the most: classical music. It would be a music period he'd never forget, especially since Octavia winked at him, signalling how pleased she was to see a talented musician in the school. He heard Octavia speak for much of the class about music and how important it was for the lives of everypony.

Corona entered her next class after she got an okay from Snowdream. This was turning out to be the best first day for her. Somehow she'd gotten a date with a cute stallion and was going to be hanging out with a new friend. "Oh boy I can't wait till I get out of school and hang with Snow and then Sterling." Corona's voice swooned on Sterlings name. Mrs. Hoofton was quiet the kind teacher and she had them all start with a short essay on their first day. Writing was something Corona loved, she could write stories and poems all the time. Corona was having a great day and nothing to bother her...well almost nothing. Sitting in the back Corona had caught site of some ponies that looked to be trouble makers. Corona knew she'd have to be on guard cause they were staring right at her.

Star Rain checked her timetable and much to her delight, she had biology next as well. It was in a different room, but it was along the way. "Flare, wait up!" she called out, rushing up to him. Without realizing how more freely she was talking now, she said,"My biology class is along the way. Wanna go to our classes together?" 

 

Unfortunately for her though, Ruby was also in her class. She followed the two, with a smirk at Flare and a glare at Star.

Wherever there were new ninth graders, there were bullies out to get them. And unfortunately for Snowdream and Corona, these ponies wherever they are are armed with spitballs and straws to fire them out of. A blue mare wearing an amethyst necklace fired one into Corona's mane while a red stallion, one of the few male students who are more than willing to pick on mares, shot a spitball that hit Snowdream's ear.

Snowdream jumped as she felt something hit her ear. She turned in her seat and saw a red stallion, armed with spitballs and straws smirking at her.

 

"Quit it." Snowdream said, not amused in the slightest. She turned back in her seat and hoped that the stallion would stop.

Rudolph walked into Room 420 for Equestrian Literature with Professor Spellcaster. He was a sharply dressed young stallion with a brown mane and a freshly groomed white coat. The professor welcomed him kindly to the classroom and continued with his work. Rudolph sat in the front of the room by the window. He gazed outside to the bright shiny sun. He began to daydream about what he was going to do after school that day. He stopped...

 

"I don't have much to do... Nopony has really said anything about hanging out... What exactly do these ponies do outside of school?" He wondered out loud.

"So uh, what's your home like?" she asked a little shyly, unaware of the mare that was trailing them to get to her biology class, the one she's going to be sharing with the two.

Mr. Bio spoke with care to Flare, "Don't worry about it Flare. All you missed was just a wicked explosion I did to introduce my class to the students!"

 

Mr. Bio then addressed the class with love and excitement, "Hello class! I'm Mr. Bio, your science student for this school year! Today, we will be talking all about cells!" Mr. Bio then proceeded with the material he taught the morning science class: prokaryotic cells. He eventually made the class go through some staining techniques to see the prokaryotic cell at work.

Mr. Bio was still lecturing about prokaryotes when Star raised her hoof in a large panic. She asked to run to the cafeteria to get her saddlebag. Mr. Bio was slightly annoyed, but he didn't let it get to him; after all, he was quite forgetful when he attended high school. "Sure Star. Just make sure you do it quickly and that you don't let it happen again ok?" He let Star be on her way before continuing his talk about cells.

Corona wasn't paying any attention or knew that there were spitballs in her mane until she felt a few hit her ear. Corona turned around and whispered. "Please quit it." Corona sank into her seat a bit trying to pay attention to what the teacher was saying. Again the spitballs hit her more and more. Soon she could hear some other ponies snickering, her mane was a mess with spitballs. She looked over at Rudolf with pleading eyes before she sunk her head under her textbook to cover her dirtied mane.

Rudolph noticed Corona's plea for help and considered what to do. Finally he turned around to face the rude ponies and hissed:

 

"Was ist dein problem? Es gibt keinen Grund sich so zu Verhalten!" Then he raised his hoof and innocently asked Professor Spellcaster:

 

"Excuse me sir, but I do believe there is a draft here by the window and I believe Corona here is catching a bit of a cold" he said, gesturing to the poor mare slumped in her chair, "Do you think perhaps that I may accompany her to the back of the room to get her out from this cold air?"

 

Professor Spellcaster stopped his teaching to listen to Rudolph's inquiry. He eventually granted permission for the two to sit in the back of the room, behind the rude ponies. The two gathered their things and headed back as the Professor continued his lesson. When they sat down Rudolph whispered:

 

"No more wads of saliva in your mane, yes?" he smiled

Mr. Bio came up to Flare while everypony was working to tell him something. "Flare I just got a message that your in the wrong classroom and you're supposed to be in a different Biology class" Mr.Bio said as Flare packed up his stuff and left the classroom. "Great the wrong classroom...this is a bit embarrassing" Flare thought.

Corona was now sitting behind the bullies trying to keep a low profile. She knew that her new location wouldn't help her for very long. All she could do was wait and wish that she would be done with this class and the day so that she could hang out with Snowdream and Sterling.

Star Rain got back to class, this time with her blue saddlebags. She almost collided into Flare, who was walking out of biology with his bags. "Oh, Flare! Where are you going?" she asked after skidding to a halt. She took a step closer to the door, her indigo eyes still on the red stallion before her.

The bullies couldn't do anything now, but they stilled flashed their smirks at the pair. It was the kind of look a predator would give to its prey...

While the other mares and stallions were enjoying their other classes, Octavia's speech about music in daily life had just completed in Sterling's class. As such, a question and answer session ensued for Octavia. Sterling had so many questions to ask her, especially since he was an admirer of her skills. At the same time, he didn't want the other students to think he was some sort of teacher's pet or nerd.  

 

He then thought to himself with determination, 'This is a once in a lifetime chance for me to ask something I've always wanted to know to Octavia, so I'll ask...' Sterling raised his hoof, and Octavia noticed. Sterling then asked politely, "Umm... who's your favourite composer to perform from?" Octavia answered, "Well there isn't a particular performer I like to play from because every composer has something to share. As a performer, we strive to convey to the best of our abilities to show what the composer wanted to share. At the same time, we can add our own little flavour to make the music original and alive. A performer's dream is to balance the two perfectly." 

 

Even though some of the other ponies began to snicker at Sterling's interest in classical music, Sterling was pleased with her answer. It wasn't something he ever considered when performing pieces.

Much to her delight, it looked like she was going to be seated near two of the kind ponies she met in the cafeteria. The bad news however was that she was sharing the same TABLE with Ruby! And the vain mares and self-absorbed stallions in her group was giving her, Corona, and Rudolph look that plainly said,"I'm out for you."

"Psst Star." Corona slipped Star the note and watched her open it. Inside the note was a question Did you wanna hang out with me and Snow after school? Corona looked over at Ruby catching a glare from her. Oh hayseeds what did I do to her?

She jotted down some notes, but quickly got bored. She wanted to leave already and see Flare. Why don't I know any time spells?
