DLC and Preorder:

=DICE][/u]
With Battlefield 3, we want to make sure we can increase your library of maps quicker than we did for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. We also want to give you something special for pre-ordering, as pre-ordering is basically your way of saying you believe in DICE and Battlefield 3. When we announced that everybody who pre-orders Battlefield 3 would get an entire future expansion pack at no extra charge, I knew we had created a very generous pre-order offer.

Back to Karkand is a massive, themed expansion pack available a period of time after the base game, developed by a separate team here at DICE -- the same team that brought you Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam. If you played Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam, you have a pretty good idea about the scope and ambition of our expansion packs. This is so much more than just four remixed maps.

If you pre-order Battlefield 3, you will be able to play Back to Karkand at no extra charge as soon as it is released, but it is not day one DLC and it is not on the base game disc. We think it’s a sweet deal, and it’s available to everyone everywhere. If you do not pre-order Battlefield 3, you can still buy Back to Karkand separately and play it as soon as it is released, the very same date as anyone who pre-ordered. In other words, there is no segmentation of the community when we launch the base game.

Cheers,
Karl Magnus Troedsson

I would buy it, but every time I try to play a battlefield game, I try extremely hard on my first game, like I am in the army.

Then a guy with an auto-sniper runs up and guns me away.

Damn. I was gonan get it on PC but my 6870 can only run on high. So I decided to get it on ps3. Plus I know more people and will have a better squad if I play on ps3 :/

The topic seems weird, some things are underlined that shouldnt be, and I dont think the vids are showing up.

Well I can't see embed videos anyway so I wouldn't know. But (if you did set this up)

It looks nice.

Nah its one of the less quality game threads I have written. Just decided to do it since I am so hyped at the moment. Going to add info on the guns, unlocks, and maps this weekend.

Yeah, but you still did a good job.

You must be extremely hyped though to write this much :P

Just finished a few games of squad rush online, and I'm geeking out about one thing:

YOU GET TO BASE JUMP! :o

No joke, I got to base jump about 300 meters to get to the next objective!

Lady Rarity is Displeased

SPOILERS

-The campaign is rather dull and attempts to put realistic gameplay in an action movie type scenario.

-I hate to say it but missions directly copy and paste from......that other shooter

-Jet Mission was boring, popping flares and firing 1 rocket at a time is not very fun

-Tank mission started out nice but turn into what was to me a slaughter of poor AI controlled tanks

-While the pacing was drastically improved over BC2 it still feels very breakneck and overdone

-Story is dull and is similar to......that other shooter

-Graphics are quite ugly looking on console, to me it appears as if they were imported and dumbed down from PC as apposed to optimizing the console's abilities.

-Servers are messed up on consoles, I am still receiving errors that they say they are fixing

-The beta played more like MoH which at first I didn't like but I adjusted to but then the final game plays like BC2 after I was expecting it to be like MoH. All these twists and turns have made me lose interest.

-Weapons feel clunky (and I'm not talking about the realism aspect of them).

Sorry for the TL DR inspiring list and no I don't hate this game I just don't feel like putting it in the tray when Halo is sitting right there >>>

  • 8 months later...

Well, I wasn't sure if it was okay to revive a reeeaaally old BF3 thread from October, so let's just make this the unofficial discussion thread for BF3 :) (If it was, can we just keep this one? The other one is long forgotten).

Basically, this thread is for BF3 bronies to discusse their opinions on the game, some news, cool things that happened to you and/or someone else, BF3 commentators (Like the great iPwnstar4hire :D), gameplay, class setups, etc., etc.

For those who haven't played it, I bet you know BF3 is one of the big 2 shooters out there, along with MW3. BF3 is a good example of the phrase "Quality over quantity", though. It's gameplay is MUCH more balanced than MW3 and is generally much more enjoyable, so it is considered a much better game than MW3 (I think it was pointless that I told that, though). I personally didn't enjoy it the first 6 months I had it because I found the game very underwhelming and slow-paced. Thankfully, EA and DICE decided to release a DLC geared towards fast-paced combat called Close Quarters. QC DLC is what made this game enjoyable for me. This is mah go-to game whilst I await for Black Ops II's arrival :D I'll probably play BF3 while doing BOII, but I can't say how much I will do. I play this for PS3 (I would get the PC version, but mah laptop can't really handle that kind of quality :().

Anyways, I prefer the fast-shooting weapons in BF3, since I play mainly CQ TDM, and that means I get a lot of small maps made for fast-shooting guns. The 3 guns I mainly use are the AEK-971, F2000 (), and A-91. I will also use the AN-94 quite often and the AUG A3 on some of the more open maps ;).

Post away :) (And like I said mods, please keep this thread. The other one is reeeeaallly old and has little replies to it, so it's mostly useless)
