I just thought of something regarding this yellow guy

No need to introduce the yellow guy, so here is what I thought of:

 

What if he was Shining Armour and Princess Cadence's future son?

 

I mean, we all can assume that they are going to have a child some time.

One connection I can make between Shining Armour and the yellow guy is the shield on their cutie marks.

 

It wouldn't make much sense age-wise, considering that the yellow guy seemed to be about Twilight's age... but you never know!

That is way more likely then him being a love interest. Everyone keeps saying hes a love interest but if Twilight was to be distracted from her goal by a love interest it would be massively out of character I still say it could just be Shining Armors human counterpart.

Honestly, I dont see anything wrong with seeing him as a love interest whether minor or majorly, and anyone who seems bothered by this or people thinking this strike me as people who are inlove with a non-existant pony and are jealous of her non-existant bf.

 

As for OP, no thats just way too farfetched, for starters why would a movie like this go so far to explain something so benign. Secondly we already see characters like the CMC at their appropriate ages.
