gaming GRID 2- The Race Returns

Well, GRID 2 just released in America the other day, and I haven't been able to get a copy off Steam yet. Basically, GRID 2 is a sequel to Racedriver: GRID, arguably one of the best console racers to date. It's taken a bit more of an arcadey style in GRID 2, but nonetheless, I've heard nothing but good reviews about it. I'll probably end up buying the game, as well as the Indycar pack and the MP4-12C pack as well. Don't think there's a game out there besides rFactor that lets you use the new DW12 Indycar. Anyone else like driving games and thinking of giving this game a shot?

I absolutely adore the original GRID, and plan on picking this up at some point down the line.

 

I'd be very interested in hearing how it is from anyone that has played it so far.

I'm mostly psyched for the Dallara Williams DW12, as well as the touring cars. My touring car fix mostly has been found in Race Injection/Race 07, but GRID 2's inclusion of touring cars has got me pretty pumped too. I just hope that they'll have more liveries for the DW12. No, I hope someone somewhere makes an official Indycar game!

I like driving games but it's too much $$$ for me lol. It sounds like fun though. I tried downloading another game but my game keeps crashing at the start. I love driving games though trust me

I don't think I will pick it up. I played a demo at the London comic con and when I was playing it I felt like the game was too easy. I managed to fall of the track many times and I still got 1st place. As fun as it was to play (the Alfa Romeo I drove felt great to throw around) I wanted a realistic racing game to punish me for failing.

 

I know it's bad to judge a game on it's demo (I mean look at Aliens : Colonial Marines) but I don't think I'll get it. It's probably me just being hung up about Gran Turismo 4 not working on my PS2. But either way I won't buy GRID 2. Sorry guys. :/

I've got a preorder down, but will probably pass. They butchered IndyCar, andthe game looks like its 90% drifting.

If you have at all a half decent PC, I'd recommend getting RACE Injection. It's a PC driving game focusing mostly on the WTCC, as well as including other forms of racing, like GT, Camaro Cup, and knockoff F1 cars.

It looks great and I'd get it if I had a good PC. But thanks for the recommendation!

Raceroom Racing Experience was awful. After the high bar that the previous Simbin games raised, RRRE was just a huge letdown. Physics just seemed off, the fact that there's hardly anything to it (you have to buy basically all the tracks; you only get 2 cars and 2 tracks), there's no singleplayer AI, and it just seemed... gimmicky. I just hope GTR3 is going to improve on RRRE.

I'm pretty sure that sometime, sooner or later, somepony's going to make a mod for the PC version which enables a cockpit view or something. It'll probably be a dumpy low-rez view using the car's exterior model, but still, I'm sure a mod will come up sooner or later.
