"You keep pushing ponies away, Todd." Gardenia couldn't help but say. She was going to put a hoof to her mouth, but she steeled her resolve and shook her head, "I'll help you, but you need to help yourself, and not in a way that hurts other ponies. I'll go get Windy's side of the story and I'll try to reason with him, but you have to be reasonable, as well."

 

Gardenia let out another sigh, "talking with Todd is mentally exhausting. He's not going to admit to enchanting Minty, and he certainly would be the one most likely to do so, if he wanted to hurt Windy. But he is just... such a ninny!"

 

"Despite what you may think, it is not you against them. Even if Windy does hate you, and you hate him, there are others getting involved who are liable to become casualties in your personal war."

 

"Including me."

"Oh.. Well, it was a thought." Denim says, shrugging.

 

Denim smiles at him, "Of course."

Her smile turns to a grin, "I'd planned on that, silly."

She leans forward and pecks his nose, "That's pretty conveniently timed too. I guess this means I'll have to find something fancier to wear when the time comes, huh?"

Royal smiled.

"Yes, well... i'm here for a reason, aren't i? I can easily get you something nice to wear. We'll go out shopping sometime." 

He sighed happily, lightly bumping her with his nose before pulling forward to hug her.

"Yes, quite convenient timing. I just put it down to my luck, i suppose."

Denim giggles slightly, "Maybe we could incorporate that trip into the theater restaraunt trip?"

 

She smiles and hugs him in return, "Lucky old you."

She gently tightens the hug before releasing and leaning back, looking at his face, her hooves were still resting on his shoulders, "Any luck in getting yourself out of here a little earlier?"

Royal smiled.  "Of course. All in one trip."

 

He nodded, resting his hooves on her side. "I managed to get them to let me out tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, it's right after class, so i can't quite escort you." He shrugged. "Maybe after that." He said, then he looked over at his cards on the table.

"Maybe then i can show you my new trick."

Denim smiles, giving a sigh. The feeling of his hooves on her sides was.. Nice, "Well, that's something to look forward to."

She smiles, leaning forward slightly, "You are such a tease." She whispers, jokingly.

Denim giggles and smiles, "But all the same, I'd love to see it."

"Me a tease? I wouldn't dare tease you of such things." He said jokingly. "But as for the trick..." He trailed off, thinking about it's effects.

"It isn't quite a trick, not the way im using it."

He said sollemly. "Im even weary to use it, not quite knowing its effects."

Denim makes a slightly pouty face, leaning in so her lips are a hair's breadth from his, "But I like being teased."

She leans back, tilting her head curiously, "Well, now I'm even more curious. Sounds like it could be exciting."

Moving one of her hooves from his shoulder, she straightens out his mane, at least the best she can, speaking in a caring tone, "Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll work fine."

"It seems you do. I think any other mare would be driven insane by me."

He sighed.

"It's a bit complicated, but i think you'll be interested in the magical technicalities of it."

He nodded. "As far as i've done, its innacurate."

Todd narrowed his eyes in exasperation at Gardenia. She just didn't understand. She never could. "I'm not pushing anypony away! They are just choosing to stab me in the back and work to undermine me! I've been nothing but reasonable this whole time! Runner is the one who has been escalating things, and if anypony else is being dragged into this, its all because of him, not me! I didn't want to involve anypony else in our issue, but he's leaving me no choice. But thank you for your promise to help me. It means a lot to me." he said, his voice taking on a bit of a husky tone as he edged slightly closer to Gardenia.

She hums, tapping his chest a couple times, "I guess fate knew that I would be able to handle it."

 

Denim pull herself onto the bed, sitting down in front of him, "Sounds interesting. Maybe I would be able to help with it? After I see a demonstration of course."

She says, with a wink.

"I don't usually believe in fate." He shook his head.

"But this card 'trick' made me change my mind, at least partially."

 

"The magic needs little more energy then i can quite give, but the unpredictability comes from the magic itself. Things change easily."

Gardenia leaned backward, and narrowed her eyes. Her voice's volume dropped, and had a harsher tone than typical of her, "we've been over this already, Todd. You may have my sympathy, even my forgiveness. But, I am not interested in you that way, so, please, drop it."

She shifts her position to a more comfortable one, "The 'trick' is a bit of a gamble in itself then, with its outcomes? Do you think, maybe, there's a way that I could provide the energy? Not sure I'll have the necessary amounts either, but I could give it a shot."

Royal hummed.

"Perhaps i should give you and example of it, so you know what im up for." He reached over to grab three cards from the deck.

"Imagine, your life is represented in three forms: The past, present, and future. If i have the energy, i can use a combination of my specialty card magic with time travel energy to have these cards represent those forms. The backlash is the state of change. The cards can be inaccurate, as they take only snapshots from the future, and the words are often cryptic, so the future can change from what it says."

She drums her hooves on the bed as she thinks, "Sounds like an interesting concept. Wonder what we'll see. Though, if they aren't always to be trusted.. Hm, it is a bit of a gamble. At least in my mind."

Denim catches the letter in he magic, glancing over it as she sits, "That's.. A good thing, isn't it? He's contacting you.."

Saronyx had heard Agile's exclamation, but it didn't fully register to him until the last second. He turned to face the source of the voice, and collided directly with the incoming mare, smacking his head partially on the bottle in her mouth. Using his wings, he managed to level out and hovered a few inches from the ground, rubbing his head, "Ow.. Sorry about that. I wasn't fully paying attention. You alright?"

Agile was knocked back a centimetre or so by the collision, yet was almost conpletley unfazed by it. She looked down and noticed her bottle was still intact. "Ha ha! And the bottle remains unscathed!" She flipped it up and drank it down before realising there was a pony adressing her. "Oh!" She spat the bottle into her hoof. "Yeah yeah. I'm perfectly fine!"

 

 

Blaze got himself up lazily at around 11 in the morning. He had already missed a lesson or two and he didn't care. He tried to walk but crippled and hit the wall. "Stupid... Hoof." He mumbeld as she pulled himself away from the wall and left the building. "Gonna go talk to windy." He said to himself yet again.

She shivers briefly, before shaking her head to bring herself back to reality. She speaks slowly, "Understandable. I can see how some would be scared to have certain events come to light."

He glances her over. Sure enough, she looked fine, "Got a name?"

Why he was asking was kind of beyond him, but can't take back what was already said.

Agile popped open anothe bottle and drank that down in the time it took him to accomplish his sentence. She then threw both bottles in the bin. "Of course I have a name! It's agile hOOf!" She emphasised the hoof part of the name, before letting out a small cute little burp. "Ugh. Almost sounded adorable. Like a kitten sneezing. Bleh. Anyway, do you have a name?"

"That's why i haven't ever used it except once. I can never get any pony to agree to do it." He chuckled once. "For obvious reasons, i should think." He remembered the only time he had done it. The pony had hated royals descriptions of their past, and had broken down into hysterics from royals prediction of the future.

Agile stared at saro with confusion. "What is the point of flying upside down exactly? Now it means I have to nreak my neck to adress you properly. Or learn to fly upside down. And yeas. I have been in this uni for a few days. I was off to sit around and make some fratts house lok bad. Cause I just hate prissy fmrich ponies. Egh!"

Denim says, brushing her mane back behind her shoulder.

Saro flips around so he is properly aligned, "You're not a fan of the Frats or sororities either then? That's good to hear."

"If you're sure." He turned to take all the cards, and he shuffled them, before closing his eyes to infuse magic into them. His horn glowed brightly, and the cards flashed, no immediate changes being noticeable.

He fanned them out to her.

"Then take three."
