so i have a acer laptop with a 2.4Ghz intel i3 processor and invidia geforce GT videocard.

problem is, i have no idea what this means, and i really like gaming.

i know my laptop can handle some games, it runs dead space 1,2 and 3 all on top settings without lagging and such. and i completed farcry 3 on it with just minor lag on max settings.

so does anypony have any game recommendations that my laptop can handle? i've been looking for something to play, but everything seems to need a 2.4Ghz or higher processor, is my laptop still qualified to play these games?

thanks in advance!

Question 1: How much RAM do you have? That's also important to know

Question 2: What graphic card do you have. You said that you have Nvidia Geforce GT, but what model?

To answer your question: Your processor is fine, it should run most game with good performance. Could you say what game you wanted to get but couldn't due to your processor?

Next time you're asked questions like these, go to the windows search button thingy and type in "Dxdiag.exe" in the field. A new window should appear with information about your computer (CPU, RAM, Graphics Card etc)

On to the topic: 4GB RAM is rather weak and so is your graphics card. I'm kind of puzzled on how you managed to play Farcry 3 on max setting without decreased performance, because your system is weak on paper. Due to this, I can't really say how well DMC and Remember Me will work on your computer, but be ready to sacrifice graphics to get a stable FPS.

You don't have a low end computer by any means, it's a decent system that should run most games with good in-game graphics, however, it's not optimal for gaming.

Also, how much FPS did you play Farcry 3 and Dead Space on? My guess would be around 25-40 FPS on higher quality

i tried finding that window you said, but i'm running on wondows 8 so i have no idea where to type  "Dxdiag.exe"...

anyways i think farcry was around 25-30 fps, but it had some minor lag isseus so i mostly played that one on medium settings.

but dead space was mostly in the 40-50 fps on best graphics.

Windows 8 huh? I don't know how well games can perform with that OS

Anyways, I think you'll have to play DMC and Remember Me with a lower setting or medium. I don't think playing with high settings would work at all. However, I'm still a bit unsure, so try asking someone else as well for their opinion

A game I've recently been recommending to everyone is Antichamber, if you're into puzzle games. It's an indie game with pretty simple graphics and probably doesn't even compare with a game like Farcry 3 in terms of system requirements.

It's not a game for everyone - but if you like challenging puzzles and games that don't necessarily hold your hand, it's really quite the experience. I'd probably describe it as a mix between Portal and Braid

Besides that - have you given the Day Z mod for Arma 2 a try? I played that for a bit and really got sucked into it for a few weeks. It's got a steep learning curve, but it can be a lot of fun to play with a few friends.

I've also recently gotten into playing old school SNES games on an emulator (zsnes). It's fun and has a nice tone of nostalgia, and there's a lot of great older games out there that I never played. Plus it's free, so that's definitely a plus blink.png
