open Happenings in the Everfree RP

" Don't let your fears get to you, everypony! You're all strong enough to get past anything, even this!" Lyona called out, before coughing. She glanced at Silver." We have to get everypony out. We won't survive long in this fog." Is there anything more that could go wrong? 

 

  Silver Note nodded to Lyona the took the air,  he flew several gallop steps from the group and retrieved his music bag, Grabbing out his bugle he sounded the retreat call, it echoed through the forest loudly.

 

 

 

He flew back hovering over the group, ready to guide the earth bound ponies out if he needed to.

 

"I hope this acid does't burn my feathers again" he said.

 

"RETREAT!"

Red watched the events unfold in horror: the voices muffled, unclear but doubtless the same ones that had tainted him from the afterlife before... Chastising him for abandoning them.

 

He looked at Lyona, Silver and Cinderblock. At Impetus, Fireblaze and Minty...

 

They had to get away, get to safety. Quickly. He couldn't: he had a job to do - an old wrong to right.

 

"Go!" He choked, flailing a hoof towards them as his eyes watered.

 

"Get out! Now!"

 

He wasn't going to abandon them this time. He knew what needed to be done.

Silver swooped down and grabbed Cinder in his fore legs and carried her, flying low through the tree's.

 

"I'm not leaving you" he told her. "We can get out faster with by flying." he glided easily through the tree's unsure if the others were following or not. "I really need to go higher but I'm afraid  my wings will fail like last time." He told Cinder.

 

He glanced over his shoulder to see if the others were following, not catching sight of any of the in the thick fog.

 

"Just keep flying east" he told himself, glad that Pegasus generally had a good sense of direction.

As the smoke and gastrous acid filled Minty's eyes and she inhaled the vile air, Minty quickly fell to the floor. Ever since she was a little filly, every time she inhaled a dangerous acid, she'd get in a coma for three days, tops. This coma though, was life-threatening. "Go.. Redwave.." Minty said to him weakly.

"No! Lyona! Somepony! Get Minty out of here!" Red attempted to bellow: it came of as more of a spluttering choke, but the general meaning was preserved. He glared at the abomination before him.

 

"I have just about had enough of your games!" He spluttered.

 

 

"Ouch!" Cinder strapped back to reality with a start as Silver hoisted her into the air: the pain of the bites magnified by being suspended.

 

"I'm fine, don't stop!"

"No! Lyona! Somepony! Get Minty out of here!"

 

" Red?" Lyona swiveled her ears back to the source. She turned around as quickly as possible, and spotted a minty shape lying on the floor through the fog. With a quick flap of her wings, she swooped in and placed Minty on her back before flying above the fog.

 

" What about you?" Lyona called.

'' So now, what are going to do?'' Fireblaze scratches her head in confusion, looking over at Minty. '' Well, I'd better go with you guys.'' Trotting out to the fog, looking over at Gmork as she passes by him. '' I'm pretty worried about Minty, I hope that she pulls through this.''

"I, my good lady..." He coughed again. "... am going to ear my pay. I shall ensure this filth does not follow you." 

 

The visible reddening of his flesh was clear through his white coat. Hie eyes burned and itched something fierce and his legs felt weaker than ever now that the his body was growing accustomed to the adrenalin rush.

 

Still, against all odds he managed to maintain his smirk.

 

"Fear not, the seas need Redwave alive and unscathed. I shall find you all shortly."

" C'mon, Fireblaze! We gotta leave. Redwave will be fine." Lyona sounded as if she was trying to reassure herself as well. " Minty's not going to get any better on my back."

 

 

 

"Fear not, the seas need Redwave alive and unscathed. I shall find you all shortly."

 

" I trust you on this, soldier. Make it out alive, okay?" Lyona gave one final salute, and she was off.

'' Oh right!'' Running away from where Redwave is, walking along the side with Lyona. '' I guess that Redwave will be okay, since he just has to take down one enemy. Looking back at Redwave. '' I guess we will be okay, since Red has it covered. Now, that we are escaping we will be fine.''

" Fireblaze, you have a strange way of thinking." Lyona managed a smile.

 

All around them, the forest grew louder, more insistent. One glance behind her shoulder revealed a whole army of enemies, from timberwolves to several other strange creatures. Lyona looked at Fireblaze, terror creeping into her green eyes. " Run!"

 

The same creatures that were currently chasing after the two fleeing ponies cornered in onto Gmork, yowling and growling. There was a moment of silence, then they all leapt onto him.

 

(I kinda forgot that I was supposed to be controlling the forest  )

Redwave watched the wolves tear into the abomination with a painful smirk painted on his muzzle as the others fled. He didn't have any intention of going out without a fight... but he was starting to feel very light headed.

 
'I should have told Kingfisher to go to Saddle Arabia if I didn't come back.' He chuckled. '... could take Minty  - she would probably like the place.'
 
A trace of a heart shaped aura, barely an outline, shimmered around Redwave.

 

"Come on dogs, finish this so that I can leave!" He muttered towards the Timber Wolves under his breath.

 

 

So, new picture for Red to commemorate the occasion! I fancied giving him a new picture, he's going to have a new after the adventure too but I wanted to make one for now as well

Gmork howled as the animals all fell upon him. A dozen parasprites joined the other animals and bit into him. He fled towards the woods but the tree roots seemed to be deliberate tripping him, branches grasping at his fur and tail, stopping him in his tracks. It was as if the forest had turned on him.

 

He scowled at Redwave. "This body may die, but I will find a new form. You haven't seen the last of me!"

 

What he didn't tell Redwave, was that it would take him many years to recover and find a new physical form. He'd become a wraith, locked between two dimensions until his dark energies became strong enough to re enter either realm. He'd been there before, and he knew the agony of loneliness with in it. Yes, the Dire Wolf suffered from the hallow emptiness of being alone. He knew nothing of the magic of friendship.

 

Using the last of his energies, Gmork raised one paw causing a black halo to fall around him in an eerie glow. The animals backed off the bleeding Gmork but remained surrounding him, waiting for his magic to fade so that they could finish the job. Gmorks eyes glowed red.

 

"At least I finished one of you... You won't see your precious mail mare again."

 

Gmork felt weakened and his body was fading. He was unsure how long he could keep the dark magic going or if his body could recover from this wounded state.

Redwave strode up to the dire wolf and glared at the dire wolf, the ghostly aura of the heart glittering around him as he did so.

 

"Be silent!" He ordered, raising the golden hued sword so that the point was mere inches from the wolfs throat. A final act of mercy for one who wouldn't have offered him the same benefit. Who wouldn't have offered Minty the same benefit.

 

He snarled, glimpsing the dark metal of his scimitar on the ground. Hurling the golden blade aside, he snatched it up and turned back to the wolf, plunging the blade into its stomach instead, twisting it as it entered.

 

"I hope that was exquisitely painful." He snarled as he pulled out the blade. The aura vanished. The heart shattered and Redwave dropped to the ground alongside the wolf. He gasped for air as the fog clung to him, searing at his wounds. He squeezed his eyes closed as tightly as possible and tried to stand, hopelessly.

 

A twinkle caught his eye. A red gemstone was laying next to him, twinkling in the same was the 'friendship heart' had been. He reached out a hoof and dragged it towards him, for no reason other than 'why not?. As he touched it, he felt his heart beat stronger. His muscles tensed as his vision focused...

A terrified howl echoed through the forest.

 

As the dire wolf died, the fog of the forest began to clear, the animals retreated quietly, going back to where ever they had come from. the birds began to twitter in the tree's, almost as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened at all. The suns rays shone through the tree's, causing a dappled effect to fall over the blood stained body of the wolf, and the red maned earth pony beside it.

 

All seemed peaceful.

Everypony was at the edge of the forest now, Ponyville could be seen through the trees.

 

Lyona landed on the floor, panting. Her tail had several bite marks in them, and she was covered in scratches but none of them deep. She coughed in between of taking deep breaths. Feels like I'm going to hack out a lung or something... 

 

The sun rose steadily, bathing the land in much-needed light and warmth. Lyona closed her eyes, still breathing deeply. It's over. It's finally over.

Red stumbled through the forest. The fog was gone, and he could breath again. His eyes still felt irritable and bloodshot and the wounds felt dry: the bleeding had stopped, leaving the open cuts like chasms across his stained coat.

 

"I should have demanded greater payment..." He muttered to himself.

 

Wrapping the sparkling gemstone in the bloodied rag he had been using as a bandage, he tucked it safely by the scabbard of his sword.

 

"By the sisters... What have I done to myself?" He trembled as he picked his way slowly through the forest.

 Silver spotted Lyona at the edge of the forest and landed next to her, gently placing Cinder down first.

 

@@LittleRawr, "Are you ok? Where are the others?" He glanced back into the forest.

 

"Somethings changed,  the fog is gone and the forest is peaceful. I hope the others are close."

 

He pulled the two mares into a hug. "We made it"

 

((A little epilogue for Derpy in the spoiler if anypony is interested.))

 

 

 

---------------------------meanwhile in another dimension--------------------

 

A certain Brony turned to Derpy Hooves

 

"Its working!" he said. "With a campaign this size Hasbro can't ignore us. They have to put you back in the show, and look! your lines are all back"

 

"That's wonderful, thank you so much, but how am I going to get back to Equestria, I can't stay here. I miss everypony. especially a certain somepony...." 

 

Derpy had no sooner said the words when a wooshing sound filled the air, a blue box materialized in the corner of the room.

 

"Doctor!" Derpy said over joyed, she ran to the TARDIS but to her surprise, a non pony stepped out...

 

 

Derpy gasped. 

 

"This is going to be rather hard to explain," The Doctor said

 

Derpy blinked at him in surprise. "Who are you? What have you done with the Doctor?" her eyes began to fill with tears.

 

"Well you see, I actually AM the Doctor," the Doctor told her. "You see in this realm this is what I look like. I'm pretty sure when we return to Equestria I shall revert to my pony form"

 

"You sure sound like him" Derpy said. "But I just don't know...."

 

"Look I'll prove it to you." The Doctor said. He retreated inside the TARDIS and came out wearing a fezz. "Now come on Miss Hooves, Allons-y!"

 

 

Derpy ran into his arms and hugged him "Lets go home" she said. Turning over her shoulder to the brony Derpy said "Thank you"

 

"My friends are never going to believe this" the brony said as he watched the blue box disappear.

'' It's a good thing that we survived, peace has been restored back to Equestria. And now, everypony is safe and sound now that Gmork has been defeated I hope.'' Hugging the whole group with her arms, in a group hug. '' I know that we are safe, so I'm guessing that we should celebrate?''

Cinder winced again at being back on her feet: the pain was starting to dull: whether that was a good thing or not remained to be seen but for the time being it brought her some relief. She still had full mobility even if she did feel as steady on her hooves as a foal.

 
"It's over...? We're alive?"

 

It all seemed too much to hope for. They had survived. Not just the creature of the Everfree: more trials than she could even recall: It was like one of her old adventures, but all rolled into the course of...

 

"How long were we in there? It cant have been long but... it feels like months."

 

A weak smile broke onto her face: they had lost so many of their number in the forest but at that very moment all Cinder felt was relief. There would be time to mourn later.

" I'm fine. I'm still alive." Lyona allowed herself one more moment to breathe, then she went back into commander mode.

 

 

 

' I know that we are safe, so I'm guessing that we should celebrate?''

 

" Not quite. Minty's in a coma, and Redwave's missing. We find Redwave and then head to Ponyville infirmary as quickly as possible."

 

 

 

"How long were we in there? It cant have been long but... it feels like months."

 

" Around a week and a half, maybe more. I haven't really kept track of time..." 

 

Lyona got up, stretching her wings. " I have some basic medical supplies in my bag, patch yourselves up which I go look for Redwave." She flew up into the air and over the forest, scanning for any sign of the pony.

 

 

 

"By the sisters... What have I done to myself?" He trembled as he picked his way slowly through the forest.

 

 

" Redwave?" Lyona landed softly in front of him. " Are you ok-" The words died in her mouth. " C'mon, let's get you to the others."

"Fine, I'm quite fine." Redwave smirked. It didn't quite hold the same jauntiness it used to - more like a cynical sneer towards the world and everything it had thrown at him.

 

"Nothing that won't heal in time, It feels better already. I told you that I had no intention of letting them best me."

 

He chuckled to himself under his breath.

 

"Are the others unharmed?"

" When we get to the others I'll patch you up." Lyona promised. 

 

 

 

"Are the others unharmed?"

 

" Well, Minty's in a coma and others have a lot of scratches and burns. I think my hoof's dislocated again. We'll all get through though. " Lyona said, fluttering alongside Redwave. She then noticed something wrapped up in a bloody rag. " What's that?"

"I don't know, and quite frankly I don't care. Whatever it is, it's the reason I'm still standing and not taking a long sleep somewhere back there." He jerked his head back in the direction if the ruins. Or at least in when he thought was the direction if the ruins. "I know a colt in Saddle Arabia who can identify it."

 

He tried to shift the topic as he trotted, limping slightly though no worse than he had been: far better in fact.

 

"How far back to town? If I never see a tree again it will be too soon..."

Lyona managed to crack a smile. " Not too far. The forest is clearing out already. I think that I can see the others already..."  

 

I do wonder, what is he holding? He implied pretty heavily that it healed him, so it must be magical... A mystery for later. She decided.
