(OoC: Well.. I guess Swordpoint will eventually just decide that there's no point in fighting, anymore. It would fit with his character, anyway. It's not him being a puss, just him acknowledging that we're evenly matched. Why keep fighting when it's just going to be back and forths like this?)

Swordpoint yanked his lance from Sole's grasp and darted backward, avoiding Sole's strike. He proceeded to teleport multiple times around Sole in an effort to confuse him while swinging his lance wildly every time. At last, he appeared beneath Sole and jabbed the back of his lance toward Sole's exposed stomach.

((I guess that works, but sole might not wanna stop so easily.)) As swordpoint teleported around him, sole quickly focused on his magical energy. As he locked on, he began to parry and block the strikes "teleporting is no good in a fight when your opponent can still detect you." He said calmly, before sidestepping swordpoints jab, and pulling the lance to pull him close. As he did, he kneed him in the gut.

(OoC: Okay, I wanna get on with the story, and I feel like we're just holding it up.)

The impact of Sole's attack caused Swordpoint to stagger in the air. "Ugh... Well done. I believe that I have extracted enough practice here. Perhaps we should end this sparring match and return to our posts. I am certain that some sleep would be beneficial to me." He bowed lightly to Sole. "Thank you, Sole. It has been a pleasure sparring against you. Perhaps we can spar again another time." Swordpoint dove down to the deck and landed lightly.

Rainbow approached him quickly. "Holy moly... I I can't believe you guys kept up with one another. Honestly... I thought Sole was gonna kick your flank."

Swordpoint chuckled. "He is quite skilled, but so am I. I believe that we are evenly matched."

Sole sighed in disappointment as swordpoint ended the fight "aw c'mon dude!" He said in annoyance, as he flew down and landed on the deck "we didn't even get to finish! I was just starting to have fun!" He said jokingly, before shrugging "but I guess if you wanna stop, I'll hold. But we will fight again, ya hear!" He said cheerfully.

Crimson sighed in boredom as he looked out over the waters of the ocean, "I don't know why, but I have a strange feeling that were in danger...oh crap..." thought crimson as he noticed a massive storm cloud looming above the blaze of glory. Crimson cursed and sent a mental alert to all the crewmembers, "everyone get to the deck NOW! The ship is steering right into a storm! And where there are seastorms, there are usally also-" crimsons words died in his throat as the entire ship rocked as if somthing very large bumped into it, and a rather large tentical emerged from the water and hung over the deck menicingly. Crimson stared blankly at the tentical, "seamonsters..." mumbled crimson.

((For the sake of making sense, I'll just say that sole and swordpoints fight happened the night before...))

"You won't be able to best me yet," Cosmo began, his blade sliding to intercept the slice, "However, you're definitely getting the hang of this." Altair stopped an inch short, allowing Noctis to make contact with Cosmo's shoulder. "I'm not sure how much energy you have but these sessions can be exhausting. Unless you want to keep practicing, it seems like you've got some tricks to share as well," Cosmo nodded to the supplies Lyth brought with her, "Those books aren't for sword practice, so what are you planning to teach?"

"Cosmo, did you feel that?" asks Lyth, before he could answer her question, "It felt like we hit a reef." (Sorry, begged foor the PoC reference) She goes to look out the window and pales, "Um, Cosmo, we have a slight problem; we seem to be experiencing the phenomenon known as an attack by a sea monster."

Cosmo watched as Lyth went to the window. When she mentioned the sea monster he mumbled a string of swears that made Altair look at him with shocked amusement. "I don't know how comfortable you're feeling with your new weapon but for me, real life or death expiriences are the best training grounds!" Cosmo ran up, he didn't know if Lyth was going to join him but he didn't think there was any time to check. "Luna as my witness, if that thing breaks any part if this ship, I will personally make sure Coral cooks squid for dinner!" Cosmo thought angrily, once again regretting volunteering to be the ships carpenter.

If he says so. Besides, if I'm totally worthless with a sword, I could always burn a fire rune into a tentacle and make it explode... She follows him, readying herself. "Do you prefer back-to-back, or side-by-side?" she asks, coming up next to him. Her eyes were glowing purple with her magic. (I'm surprised you didn't notice the eyes changing color from purple to silver earlier Cosmo. x3)

Swordpoint groaned. "How is this happening? I plotted this course with my own eyes when I flew out over the sea!"

Rainbow bared her teeth. "Well it looks like something really doesn't want us getting there, which is fine by me! Just give me a weapon!"

Swordpoint spread his wings and began to glow with a golden aura. He conjured his lance for himself and a dagger for Rainbow. "Here," he said as he tossed it to her. "I know you are comfortable with small arms. Now, then, we must protect the ship. We have noncombatants on board." Swordpoint leapt into the air and flew toward the tentacle. He swiped at it with his lance, cutting it in half. "My, that was easy. But I don't suppose that it could really be that simple."

There was a loud screeching as the water began to bubble. The surface broke, and a large beast emerged from the sea. It resembled a squid, but it was practically the size of the ship.

Rainbow stared in awe. "... whoa." She spread her wings and tried as hard as she could to focus her energies. She at last began to gather magical energy, which she hastily used to launch a bolt of electricity at the creature. It struck one of the monster's tentacle's, but the creature simply shook it off. "... wow. I actually casted a spell!"

Cosmo thought for a moment, "I say back to back. I usually prefer flanking the enemy, but a giant squid will be able to attack us from any angle, so well need to act defensively." As they reached the deck Cosmo used Blood Wind to send hundreds of telekinetic needle blades into the nearest tentacles, trying to get the monsters attention.

Sole was training on deck when he felt the ship shake as if struck by something... something big. "Oh look, if it isn't tonights dinner." He said sarcastically, as he saw the giant squidlike creature surface "I wonder if you taste better grilled or raw..." he said, licking his lips and grinning, before slashing a tentacle off with a chaos slash.

"So, is it good to destroy the tentacles, or is it Hydra-esc in that the tentacles regrow with more of them?" she asks nopony in particular. She decides to stand back-to-back so he wouldn't be in the way of her draw-slash. Hopefully, it wouldn't come to a point where she had to blow stuff up.

"Either way, anything will die you hit it enough. Lets go!" Cosmo said he cast Shadow Dance on himself to increase his speed and reflexes, with Shadow Hide still active and buffing his defense. Cosmo's magic brushed against Lyth's as he offered these enchantments to her, only they would drain from her power instead of his. He then charged the nearest tentacle and cleaved it in a single slash. Pleased with the result but aware of its insignificance, he kept back to his position with Lyth, and waited for her to act.

She felt his magic brush against her, and accepted it. She let it wash over her, and she recognized it as lunar magic. Her eyes glowing purple, and her sword glowwing in sympathy, she slashed of a tentacle and re-sheathed the blade before a pony could blink. She watched for anymore coming near, while extending her consciousness towards Cosmo. She sighed as she analysed his mental defences; without Altair blocking his mind, he would be at the mercy of any mind-breaker ever to spawn from Tartarous. It didn't matter to much though because he was aligned to the right sign. She slowly trickled energy to him from her reserves, so he could preform stronger versions of his favorite spells. Because she was drawing from an amulet she'd been charging since she was around 8, it had multiple years of energy and was relatively easy to siphon off.

Crimson cursed as he dodged a few tentical swipes from the monster before jumping up and slicing off two of its tendrals using helios, after landing on the ground and dodging more tentical swipes, crimson noticed the storm was worsening and became worried, "what the hell is going on...swordpoints course should've led us into calm waters..." mumbled crimson before dodging anoather tentical strike and retaliating with a fire ball to its face, causing it to screetch in pain and lash out at the crew once more.

Umbra sat in his throne, surrounded by sillouettes of 10 ponies, staring at into a scrying bowl at crimson and his crew as they fought off the seamonster, with a psychotic grin, "this is very enjoyable to watch, thank you for the suggestion sin 1, but it seems they are beginning to get a leg up, so let's kick it out from under them shall we?" Asked umbra with a dark chuckle before his eyes glowed a dark red, causing the storm to worsen.

((Trust me, the sillouettes around umbra will play a key role in the story here, think of them like the akatsuki or the espada, only they're ponies...))

Altair felt Lyth's power flow into Cosmo and smiled at the pair. Cosmo sent a few bursts of Blood Wind to cut off more of the tentacles but he still didn't feel like it was doing much. Cosmo spoke loudly, advising anyone nearby, "We're still just attacking the limbs. This thing's body is beneath the ship, so we can't do too much up here..."

I've heard this stuff is a delicacy in some countries, she thinks as she strikes tentacles flailing around her, But we've got so much of it the weight could sink the ship. Not to mention that the living ones flailing around on the deck could break the mast. "Cosmo, we can't keep this much weight on board. It's getting hard to tell which of these are dead and which of these need to start dying." Her sword flies from the sheath and strikes another tentacle, cutting through it cleanly in accent. "Maybe if the water's bloody enough, we can get some other forces of nature to frenzy and kill this beast, but either way we need to get the tentacles off the ship. I leave it to you as to the amount I levitate off," she smiles.

Cosmo slaps his forehead and mutters, "How did I forget about that..." He grabs portions of the tentacles and tosses them over the railing, allowing gravity to save him some of the work. "Good idea. I think sharks would enjoy some fresh meat, especially if we can cut the main body. "Cosmo sprints to the rail and shoots some of his wind blades into the water noticing the red water darken for a moment, confirming he hit. If he thinks that any louder I'm going to go insane. We're in the middle of a fight, and the only thing he can think about is how he hates being a carpenter? Not only that, but if he thinks it any louder I'm sure ponies won't need a magic link to hear it. "Cosmo, what the buck does it matter that you signed on to be a carpenter. How does that hinder you in any way? Push comes to shove, and you're still out here pushing back. If it bothers you so much, I'll be carpenter and you can be whatever Crimson has me as. But stars at midnight, think about something other than you bucking wood and try to stay on the current subject of making sushi out of tentacles." She then realized what she said, "I mean- carpentry. But don't start thinking about the other interpretation either. I don't need that broadcast into my mind either. Gah, remind me to teach you how to mentally shield later. More important than your runes." She started slashing the tentacles again in an attempt to clear her mind in ignore his.

"If you think that's a workload, wait until I show you how many different dialects of runes there are. It would take many lifetimes, and I've had an unhealthy amount of time to master a few." She mumbled something under her breath and clenched a hoof, which made her sword glow. Twirling and pointing, she preformed five slashes, which left a glowing star in the air. "By the dark of the night and the black of the shadows, I pray for my strength. By the light of the moon and the shine of the stars I pray for courage. And by my blade, I sing of death," she mumbles into a gale, which is swept to Cosmo and carried off the ship. She twirls and kicks the star, which explodes outwards in a cone of silver, sufficiently downing about a forth of her oncoming workload. "... The night works in strange ways..."

Rainbow leapt skyward as the monster lashed out against them. "Aw man, this storm is gonna tear the ship apart! We need to do something quick!" As she said this, a massive wave crashed against the ship, rocking it violently.

Swordpoint was thrown off balance, but he quickly recovered with a flap of his wings. "Rainbow! We must attempt to clear these clouds!" He glanced at Sole and quickly formulated a plan. "Sole! Rainbow! Let us focus on the storm! Cosmo! Attempt to shield the ship from attacks and waves!"

Rainbow nodded and soared upward toward the clouds, but she was forced to dodge a lightning bolt as soon as she did so. "What the hay?! It's like the storm is aiming right at me!"

"Rainbow!" Swordpoint shouted, "I will protect you!" He hastily conjured a shield around her and himself. "This should hold against the lightning, but attempt to avoid direct strikes!" He darted toward the clouds, skillfully dodging the lightning bolts. Several of them grazed his shield, but it held as he breached the cloud barrier.

Rainbow followed behind him, easily dodging the lightning strikes. As she broke through into the clear skies, she glanced at Swordpoint. "That's a big storm cloud! How are we gonna take it out?!"

She looked around for anything to help her. She tried to get up, but her foreleg gave up and she fell back down. She then closed her eyes waiting for the boxes to crush her.
