did shimmers ever stand a chance if she beat twilight?

If shimmers made twilight and friends her personal mind slave zombies. You'd think she might have taken over equestria?

 

I have several points that make it a possibility.

 

1.) Celestia lost to chrysalis. Celestial isn't that powerful. The elements of harmony are stronger than her.

 

2.) The element of disharmony that shimmers created could put up a worthy fight against discord. Since the elements of harmony can beat him.

 

3.)shimmers can beat chrysalis. Since chrysalis can't drain love out if someone who has no love in the first place

It's gonna take ALOT more than a bunch of zombies to take over Equestria! These zombies I don't think were contagious. Besides, THREE PRINCESSES were standing on the other side of the portal, as well as the Mane Six! I don't think Shimmer would go that far. My only concern is: when is Ponyville going to open a Cheesecake Factory?

When they pass through the portal... would all the teenagers turn into ponies? Exactly how zombied are they? As in would any of them be capable of manipulating 'modern' equipment still, and would that equipment get modified by the portal in the same manner as the teenagers/ponies?

 

This had to have been a spur-of-the-moment plan, because I can't see this whole thing being Shimmer's Plan A. There's just too many variables.

 

Of course, depending on exactly how long Shimmer was on the other side of the mirror, and how much time she had to do research on current events in Equestria, she may not have known about Discord, Luna, Cadance, etc. She may have only had enough time to find out about Twilght and the Element of Magic.

It took all of the elements of harmony to defeat Discord, if Discord could be defeated with just Twilight's element then they wouldn't have had to come together to defeat him. Also I think the element was weaker when it was under Shimmer's control since there was no harmony in her or what she was doing, it seemed like the element was very unstable in that state. With those observations I am sure that Discord would have been able to defeat her easily. Not to mention that Discord would at least be able to take care of the teenage army for sure, and it was her plan to use the army, so her plan would have been thwarted immediately at the very least.

Crimzo's right. Discord + Chrysalis + the princesses could easily wipe the floor with Sunset Shimmer AND her zombies easily.

Not that I see Chrysalis helping much. But yeah, with the Princesses there, Sunset Shimmer and her zombies wouldn't do well.

 

Especially if Discord got involved.

Sunset Shimmer and her army would have gotten wrecked the moment they stepped into the pony world. There's no way in hell she could have won against the likes of Celestia, Luna, and reformed Discord. I think that the writers used the idea of Sunset Shimmer creating an army because it was a reasonable explanation for what she was doing in the human world. If you don't think about the powerful forces hanging back in Equestria, that army of mind-controlled teenagers seemed pretty intimidating.

Eh, I dunno actually, she might be able to, we never really got to see the use from all the others she had enslaved. And she is just her.

 

It kinda depends on how strong Celestia and Luna are, of course Discord could probably screw up them.

 

So eh, maybe, but I kinda doubt it, although Equestria would be vulnerable to other attacks without the elements.

Wouldn't she have just turned back into a pony?

 

After all, her transformation was a result of bringing an element into another world. If this were indeed the case - that the element of magic turns crazy teenage drama queens into demons on Earth, but remains the element of magic (one that is used with the other five for it's full power) in Equestria - then we can assume that it would not yield such results in Equestria since the crown that produces such power belongs to Twilight and is an element of harmony, not some demon spawning device.

If it were to turn ponies into crazy mutants like it did for SS in the human world, I don't see why she just didn't put it on when she first obtained it. But then again, the entire movie wouldn't have happened.

 

I hope I'm making sense.

 

Plus, as others mentioned, I feel like those zombie teenagers would turn into their pony counterparts. If anything, it would screw up space and time - or whatever Celestia mentioned in the beginning that I seem to have forgotten.

Let's not forget that Shimmer was able to turn anyone she wanted into those gargoyals, she demonstrated that with Snips and Snails, Celestia or Luna or anyone else would not stand a chance against an army of those. Make no mistake, Discord would be the only one who could defeat her. And defeat her he would, since he is so ridiculously overpowered... lol

 

What would have happened when they all went through the portal I have no idea. I would assume that they all would turn into ponies but they would still be in a gargoyal-ish form and the powers they had gained would remain.

 

To comment on what Razzmataz said, I think that Shimmer didn't really know what sort of powers she would gain from the element, and wanted to retreat back to a safe place so she could figure out what she could do with it before deciding on a final plan. Putting on the crown right then and there would be too risky of a move if she didn't know exactly what would happen, especially since she was in the middle of the castle with all of the royal guard and princesses and everyone there. This would explain why it felt like she was 'winging it' when she took control of all the people. Her intentions all along would have been to take over Equestria though, she just didn't decide on how she would do it until she knew what sort of power the element would give her.
