Sunset Shimmers makes no sense :S *spoilers*

So she postpones the fall formals even though she wants the crown to rule in equestria, and by postponing it she prevents herself from coming back to equestria for another 30 moons, so why postponing it in the first place?

 

and besides.. once the principal finds out that twilight wasn't the one to destroy the fall formals, isn't she atleast tries to find who did it? or assuming that sunset shimmers did it and ban her from joining the princess competition ('cause she was the one to frame twilight)..

 

and how come the crown didn't have any effect on twilight's head?

 

 

i'm guessing they needed the storyline to continue :S

I am thinking that Sunset would have been OK with waiting another 30 moons as long as Twilight didn't get the crown in time to go back to her home. After all, she knew that she was going to become an all-powerful demon so it would just give her some fun and chaos before taking over Equestria.

 

As for Celestia, she probably fears Sunset Shimmer a little. You do not punish the queen bee of the school unless you are ready to face the consequences.

I don't think she wanted to postpone the formal, just get Twilight in trouble and prevent her from being able to attend, hence why she tood Snips and Snails to show a little restraint next time. I assume Shimmer was not blamed since it was said that Snips and Snails did it. Twilight later said Shimmer had them do it so, who knows. The crown not doing anything on Twilight's head, most likely that is because the other elements were not present at the time, which I guess they activated later. It did something on Shimmer because of the unexplained thing that happens when an Element of Harmony is brought into another world.

 

Just my theories at least. I thought it was a great film as well.

I think all she wanted was to get Twilight into trouble so she told Snips and Snails to trash the hall a little. But they got carried away and totally wrecked the place, so Sunset Shimmer was probably relieved that the dance could go ahead after all, and just had to alter her plans a little seeing as Twilight didn't get the blame.

   Snips and Snails were not supposed to trash the hall as bad as it became. Just enough so that Twilight could get in trouble, while still being able to return to Equestria.

She didn't want it wrecked to the point where the dance wouldn't be on schedule.  She just wanted Twilight out of the running.

As the others said she didn't do it and I guess S and S didn't rat her out. As far as Twilight, and the crown, it's her crown, so you wouldn't expect it to do anything unless she wanted it to. It's also stated that her element can work even she she isn't in control of it.

I have to agree with the fact that the crown wouldn't do much without the other elements... And then they activated. Although I cant say I understood why Sunset Shimmer turned into a demon, but hey, I don't care, it was cool.

Well, she didn't really postpone it herself... remember, later she's seen chewing Snips and Snails out for ruining the decorations so bad...

Remember how she scolded Snips and Snails after Twilight fixed everything? "You two were lucky she managed to pull this off. Next time, show some restraint." 

 

Her objective wasn't to delay the Fall Formal (after all, she needed the crown). Her objective was to get Twilight disqualified for vandalism so she wouldn't have to compete against anyone. Snips and Snails did the job too well, and almost ruined Sunset's plans.
