video Animations I gone done.

One of my last assignments at uni was to make a short reel of some of the work I did on the course.

It has both my oldest, and (almost) newest work. It was supposed to be 90 seconds long, but I found one of my first lip-sync tests from my second year and stuck it in after the credits. 9QvF1.png

Boring sort-of technical stuff you can skip:

- Character animation, cleanups, colour, and shading are done using traditional cel animation in Flash.

- Effects, composting, and motion graphics/cut-out style animation are done in After Effects

Anyway, I had fun. Clicky on the Vimeo link for HD.

Oh God, there's actually so much nostalgia for me in this...

It's also on my Youtube.

Now this thread is a thread that does not have enough replies.

Let me just start by saying that I would never be able to make an animation that good. It looks very smooth and realistic, like you put a lot of effort into it. All I can do is make some stick figure run across a surface and blow up.

These are very well done, I want to see some more. You caught my interest at 'Clockpunk'.

Is it alright if I commission a Steam Powered Giraffe animation? ;)

Your very own Victorian-styling, airship-flying, super-sizing, brass-lining, quick-drying, detoxifying, low-pricing, newbie-knifing, over-driving, sometimes-hiding, unsurprising, ninja-fighting, perfect-timing, always-smiling, never-lying, best at writing, also rhyming automaton!

Thanks. I still have a stupidly long way to go, but three years ago I didn't even know what a keyframe was, so at least I'm getting somewhere.  derpy_emoticon1.png

Also, that really ain't half bad, the explosion actually works rather well. The only thing I can really suggest is that you add some follow through when he stops running, but he's a little stick figure, so I guess that might be a little hard to do. You have some slow-in at the start of the run, which is nice, so perhaps adding some slow-out before he stops might also work. But, maybe the sudden stop at the end is what you were going for, which is fine.img-1369822-1-UNZJLhS.png

Clockpunk is best Punk.

I'd like to do something like that (SPG <3), but I don't have the software for it at home. ._. I have Flash (And Toonboom, which I still need to learn how to use dry.png ), but I don't have After Effects to create motion graphics like the Clockpunk thing, or anything else for post-production and to actually create and edit videos with.

Also, I think I'm supposed to be looking for... something... I can't quite... remember...

Oh right, a Job. I need to go out and get a job.

That.
