Darling was, as you may be able to tell, born without a tail. It has always been the most defining detail that she has. Her missing tail is the main overall topic that is used to bully her during school. Her family, especially her parents, feel that they need to treat her with more respect than they do others because of this. However, she doesn't want to be treated like someone who needs an extra amount of caring. She wants to be treated like she was normal. When she gets treated like she has no tail, she remembers how others bully her, and she remembers that they say that she is worthless and so on.

She got her cutie mark after she first found love, or so she thought. It was at a formal event where she was wearing a dress that didn't reveal the fact that she had no tail. Anyway, she was lonely during the event, and a colt came up to her and began to talk with her. She felt like she was loved at the time, and the two seemed to fit well together. When she returned home from that night, she saw that she got her cutie mark.

However, the next time she met the colt, she wasn't wearing the dress that hid her tail-less flank. The colt then never spoke with her again, and whenever they met, he pretended to not know her.

She sometimes considers suicide, but tries her hardest to wait for someone who actually love her. According to her cutie mark, it can't be too far away.

She often dreams about a loving male unicorn who wouldn't give her up for the world, and even though she assumes that she will never meet said colt, she still likes to imagine it happening.
