I'm sticking to that head canon.

 

 

 

 

I've decided that if I'm gonna keep on using Illustrator, I should do some more practice with the program, especially with layer management and shading.

 

Don't have time to explain why Amethyst's cutie mark is incomplete. Also, a bajillion brohoofs to the poster who can tell me which Doctor's sonic screw driver that is. May have to click on the image to see it clearly, though.

I actually had a fun time doing this one. Not exactly good, but I think I'm getting marginally better.

Done with K-9. Sort of. I still have to add shading once I get the glow of the screwdriver in.

 

 

 

 

That scarf was a pain to vector around the neck.

 

I may be cheating by posting this in the pony section, but there will be a pony! Eventually! Quiet you, it's a robot dog with a British accent who plays chess, that should be enough for you!

Screwdriver is done. I just figured out how to reasonably use the gradient tool too. Opacity's and such. Any critiques on my shoddy vectoring are welcome.

 

I love the designs of all the sonic screwdrivers, but this is one of my favorites. Dunno why.

Maybe the "imperfection" you're looking for is the lack of ear/s. It seems like at least part of the left ear would be visible, and the right ear is very short and wide.

Funny thing, of all the background ponies in the show I happen to be writing about this one. A side character, but still. Random coincidence.

 

Well, the background could be better. I like everything about this besides your interesting color choice for the background.

I decided to go back and change it to a vortex more in line with the classic series.

Naw, I just suck. Never thought to call her Amy, though. Nice.
