Moving Banners, Interactive Signature and More!

Hi there!

I Was hoping for a better looking forums than ever actually, I had some few features I request to add

 

Requests:

Moving Banners- I love how the creators make their banners! They're all creative (I wish I had the skill to make one lol). But it could be 20% cooler If it is moving, you know animations

 

Interactive Signature- I see Different Signatures, including Gif sigs lol, but we need to go to the next level and have SWF signature. Like Signatures that are small and simple 600x100 games. XD

 

More themed Website- Yes the banner fits color of links to forums, Extranet, community, Help and Subscribe

But under it is like its like its still the blue IP board style. So I was wondering like, If the banner is Twilight Sparkle, The website needs a magical sparkling violet look. Or maybe if the banner is Octavia, The website needs to have a classical look.

 

Live Streams on MLP forums- This one would be a great Idea like someone will see the handsome and Beautiful faces of the Admins and Moderators and give some message to them, or see popular users showcasing something to other people. We like to see any pony live!

This is a problem with mobile devices and those with poor computers and/or internet connections.

This is a problem with BBcode. It's not going to allow much of this kind of stuff.

According to the staff, changing the banner itself is a pain in the butt that takes a bit of time to do. Seeing as the banner changes weekly, this would mean tonnes of work. Tonnes.  There'd have to be themes done every banner change, which is absurd.

I don't understand what you're requesting. Streaming for what? Random things? We have sites such as Justin.tv and Twitch.tv for this kind of stuff.

Also, making a theme that goes with a specific banner would take up a lot of bandwidth and coding, plus it's just too much work for just a banner that will be only featured for one week, so I guess that this will not happen.

#1: You can make an animated GIF as your signature if you want, so technically, #1 is already implemented. Example is my signature.

#2: Somepony make that person with the tetris signature playable! ...well, still, this won't work due to so much coding needed.

#3: And for the current banner, we could have PINK COTTON CANDY CLOUDS! ...well, that would take too much work. For each banner we would need a new theme, and that is going to take a LOAD of time. So no.

#4: We actually used to have a live stream callled EQ TV. However, we're on intermission as they're making it even better than ever. Also, I think Marco has a livestream every Saturday...

As Yunkio has already said, these would slow down mobile devices and other low end stuff. As it stands the site is already pretty image heavy and sluggish on my netbook.

You can have animated signatures, I've seen plenty around, how you make them I have no idea.

 

However the banner being animated would kill my ipod browsing. Or other mobile devices or slow computers.

 

I have no idea how hard the coding is, but I imagine having to reformat the layout of the site for each banner would be difficult. No sure how much, but I imagine it wouldn't be easy.

 

While it could be interesting on occasions to see livestreams, I doubt it would be that popular a feature, probably annoying to some, its probably better to stream and post a link to it on a status update or something.

I'm pretty sure you have to compile a bunch of images and a text file telling the computer what to do with the image frames, and you should be able to use these to make a .gif but i'm really not too sure.
