If I thought they would rape my children, then no, I wouldn't. However, I wouldn't assume that. If you knew that a family member was a gay male, and you had a 30 year old son, would you let your son near him?

im a headbanger, when other people are in the room i have to stop myself when im listening to metal.

i love violence, when i look at a game on steam i usually see how gory it is, not gory enough, not being bought.

my biggest fear is heights, i can do rollercoasters, but not many.

second biggest fear is the dark, well, what my mind makes me believe is in the dark.

i hate those weird windows you get in your toilet, i still feel like someone would be able to see you if the light was on.

when its dark and i need a piss, i leave the light off and sit down just because im more scared that someone will be at the window when i turn the light off (if its on) than the dark itself.

i believe in ghosts and stuff, but not heaven or hell.

i think it is possible the aliens are real.

i cant really think of much else.

I'd thank you to explain exactly why that isn't a good comparison, given that both are sexual behaviors biologically hard-wired into some people's brains. Yes, there is the obvious truth that homosexual activity harms no one, while child molestation invariably causes extensive mental scarring, but I'm not talking about whether one of these sexual behaviors is more or less harmful than the other; I'm just saying that someone doesn't deserve to be branded for a crime they haven't committed, or don't plan to ever commit.

 

Believe it or not, there are pedophiles with a conscience. I'm actually friends with a couple. They're rationally-minded people; they know their urges are immoral, they know that acting upon them would ruin a child's life, and they know the legal repercussions of acting upon them. Simple empathy keeps them from acting upon their urges. Whether or not I would personally leave my children with such a person is totally irrelevant to the fact that those who've committed no crime should not be spat upon as though they have.

You know I abosolutely get what your saying here. Some people, unfortunately, are cursed with pedo orientation, but they don't act on thier urges and shouldn't be demonized.

 

However, let's be clear on what the definition of Pedophilia is. It's someone who has an attraction to "pre-pubecent" kids. An attraction to kids who have gone past puberty is technically defined as ephebophilia (15 - 19)

 

Now in the case of Ephebophilia, illigality depends on where you live. The common age of consent world wide is around 16 years old, making Ephebophilia...pretty accepted on a global scale. If you're dating an 18 year old, you could be classified as an Ephebophile, but in America if they're at least 18 (17 in some states) then it's legit. I wouldn't condemn someone who had sex with a 16 year old teenager, depending on the situation, but if they got caught and went to jail for it, I'd say they were pretty stupid to put thierself in that situation.

 

Now as for Pedophilia, I don't believe there is any child under the age of 15 that has an adults maturity. Physicaly they're brain isn't even through developing, and they havn't experienced enough of the real world to make that kind of decision for thierself. I know how I use to think when I was 14, and I know how most 14 year olds think. It's a perpetual state of delusion.

 

Fact: Kids are gullible, naive, and generally more willing to believe in what they want to believe, than reality. They're easy to trick, and easy to hurt.

 

Please forgive me if I sound condecending towards kids under 15. I know a lot of adults that have the maturity levels of your average 15 year old, and I'm sure they're are some 15 year olds that have all the appearances of the average 25 year olds maturity. Back in the day people used to marry young (16-17) and they had to grow up fast, unlike our generation that has been essentially given an extended childhood (ie: college = daycare)

 

In a different era, in a different age, I might have had a different opinion. However, in this day, this age, and in this society, I don't see any consent between someone that's pre-pubescent and some one who's an adult and should know better. Ages 15-17 are a pretty grey area, but most kids around that age don't know what to do with thier lives to begin with, suffering from new hormones clouding thier judgement, naivity in thinking "I know everything I need to know", etc etc. Getting in a romantic relationship with an adult is the last thing they need to do.

 

But is there consent in those ages? Depends. For an experienced adult, it's still very easy to take advantage of that age group, because the youth's mind is still devoloping, they're still growing, and it usualy isn't until 24 that we begin to really cement ourselves in our beliefs and world view. Not saying that anyone below the age of 24 is incapable of consent, just saying it's really a fine subjective line, and each incendent would have to be examined case by case, to make a fair judgement.

 

But that would take way too long to do for every case, so we make a standard law and enforce it with religious zeal.

 

Now in the case for the pedo's who act on thier urges without remorse...I'm against torture. That's an ineffecient use of time. Execute them as soon as possible and get thier genetic filth out of our gene pool.
