Frost's grin widened. "Not bad. I see you have the singing down already." Everything seemed to be progressing quite smoothly as far as he could see, and that was saying a lot. "Next two are the F# Minor and A2 chords." Placing his hoof at the specific frets he was referring to, he played the F#m first, then the A2, and repeated them both a few times. "There are a few more that you need to know before I can show you a good song to play for her, but I think it would be better if you got a feel for the chords yourself." The pegasus handed Vesper his guitar, draping the strap around his neck. "Give it a go, let's see it."

"Okay...Vesper try." Vesper fumbled to put his hoof in the right place before saying, "G," and strumming a G. Then he did the same with all of the other chords. He did went through them over and over, making the changes faster and faster as he slowly progressed. After a while, he seemed to have it down.

Frost waited in anticipation, standing at the ready in case he needed some help figuring out which frets were which.

He looked at the sheet, then back at the guitar's neck a few times, trying to figure it out. Finally, he got it on a C. "C," he said. He then did the same with the other chords. He practiced them just like the other chords. He wasn't stupid or slow, he just tended to misunderstand things because he didn't know much about ponies. But this he understood. And he liked it.

Vesper listened and read the book closely, before trying to play the song. He played a bit slow and clumsily, but he was getting there. As he played, he read the lyrics. He didn't understand them all, but he liked the song. He hoped Violet would like it too.

Hop let out anervous chuckle aT Violet's comment about her last name. "Don't worry, I wont. I'm Hop, nice to meet you." she said holding out a hoof to shake. Hop turned to the bat pony and let a small smile form on her lips. "What's your name?" she asked before sipping her wine.

 

Violet shook Hop's hoof and looked over at Vesper...only to see him walking off with Frost.

She sighed and looked back at Hop. "That's Vesper. He's quite excitable...but very sweet none the less." She said. "So...uh...having fun? Here...at the party?" She asked, smiling but quickly stopping herself so her fangs didn't show. "Um...how do you know Eve?"

Frost nodded, placing the book down. "That'll do. You're not bad, Vesper, you just need...a little bit of work. It's up to you what you want to do next. Do you wanna push for perfect or do you wanna go play for Violet? As it stands now..." The pegasus rubbed his chin thoughtfully. Perhaps the batpony was all ready to go. "...I think you're ready. Just work on your hoof placement, strum a bit more fully, and you'll be just fine. But it's your call, bud."

Vesper sat in thought for a moment. "Hmm...Vesper want be good...for Vee-o-let...try more...then play for friend..." He practiced for a good while, before he was finally ready. "Ready. Play for Vee-o-let now..." He held up the guitar boldly, ready for his big surprise. "Thank you, Frost..."

Draco was watching the two from afar listening to the two and he sighed. He heard Vesper play as he nodded to himself. 'Vesper isn't that bad. ut the advice the stallion should be giving is different,' he thought to himself as he walked over "Hello Vesper I over heard you two. Well why not just be yourself then?" Draco asked as he tilted his head to the bat pony.

Violet looked up at Vesper and smiled...he really was cute. "I'd love to hear you play a song." She said...she knew exactly what was going on since he was holding Frost's guitar...and Frost had just pulled him off behind a bush...it was rather obvious...and Very Very sweet.

He smiled and got ready to play, somewhat awkwardly. Finally he was ready. He strummed the guitar, beginning to play the song. He opened his mouth and sung...surprisingly well. He played the whole song and finished proudly. He set the guitar down carefully before smiling at Violet, full of excitement, ready to hear how much she liked it.

 

Violet listened to Vesper play, her expression slowly changing to surprise as Vesper got closer to the end of the song.
When he finished her eyes were wide and she quickly clapped her hooves together. "Vesper that was really really pretty...is this your first time playing guitar? Because...that was very good...I'm impressed." She said, smiling.

When he finished her eyes were wide and she quickly clapped her hooves together. "Vesper that was really really pretty...is this your first time playing guitar? Because...that was very good...I'm impressed." She said, smiling.

He wore a wide, dumb smile on his facing, nodding like an idiot. He came bounding up to her like an excited dog. "Thank Vee-o-let! Yes first time guitar! Love music! Love Vee-o-let like! Vesper so happy!" He was practically panting he was so excited and happy. He sat down beside her. "Best friend now?"

Violet returned the...fang-y...smile and kissed him on the cheek before using her magic to fill up her wine glass...with wine...obviously. "So...is guitar your new favorite thing to play now?" She asked, sipping her wine and glancing at Frost's guitar. "I really am impressed, Vesper...you're really good at that considering this is your first time playing."

Vesper still had that dumb smile on his face as he nodded. "Love play guitar! Fun and good and make friend happy! Vesper like sing even more! Love sing! Thank Vee-o-let! You nicest pony!" he cheered, reaching over to pour himself another glass of wine. He forgot that Violet had told him to stop drinking wine today.
