(WIP) Nero Bellum Ponified!

So I was recently thinking, and by recently I mean last night, I want to practice vector-like stuff. Since I am a huge fan of Psyclon Nine, I thought "Nero, Pony, that sounds neat." The result? I made a ponified version of Nero Bellum. For those who do not know, that is the person in my avatar. This is currently a work in progress. There are many changes that can be made and there are many additions I need to make as well, such as maybe clothing and altering the tail and mane, among other things. This is a nice base version though, so I though I would share it. I will update this post when I have done considerable alterations.

You really made him ponified! This is a great ponification, @Kyoshi, I love how you made this turn out, anyway you used a mouse or other devices to design Nero Bellum pony?

Thanks. I used Photoshop CS5. There are many other things that I want to do, mainly with the tail and mane. I am not sure about adding clothing at this point, perhaps that can be a separate version. I could change the pose up a bit...Maybe. Options I suppose. It is nice to see positive feedback like that, I always think everything I make is a bomb of not good. Edited July 21, 2013 by Kyoshi

Being a stupidly big fanboy of P9, ermahgerd i can't wait for their next album I highly approve of this. The drawing itself is very good. As far as the design itself goes, it's mostly works. The only changes I would make is his weight. Nero's a fairly thin chap and you've drawn him a tad bulky. 

 

 

I'd also really like to see some of that liquid latex stuff around his neck, that would be awesome.

Thanks for the feedback. Amazing image choice by the way. I see what you mean there with the weight. I did this rather fast and it basically is now a blueprint. I will be adding other stuff and changing things over time. The liquid latex sounds like a good idea.

I have updated the original post with V1.5. In it I added the liquid latex that he uses, I adjusted his belly and chest size, and added a bit of clothing to start that off. I will be making more additions and whatnot over time. I really want to do a lot more.

This is looking really cool! I love the latex and the texturing! I think it's coming along really nicely. 

 

One thing I just noticed that looks a little off is the horn. I'm just nipicking, but it looks a bit too bent down in my opinion, I think it should be facing up a tad more. (Hope I'm actually making sense) The way it rounds off at the bottom before it reaches the mane seems a bit off as well. It's hard to explain exactly, but the way it's drawn here is a bit more streamlined.

I think I know what you mean here. I am actually having a difficult time properly fixing the problem though. I guess it will just take experimentation. My brother suggested no horn overall, but I really  want him as a unicorn for some reason.

 

Thanks again for the constructive feedback. I am trying to get better with this vector stuff and with shaping, the horn is proving to be a challenge, only because it is a bit more specific.

I have updated the original post to include the latest version. I have made changes to the horn (which may still look awkward), added more clothing, altered the mane slightly, and added Nero's Übermensch tattoo. Not too manyadditions/changes this time, but I still think it is coming along nicely. My new avatar might give that away.
