Luna is real and Celestia (I think) made the Earth

Luna can mean Moon, as in latin terms. Also, Luna, in the MLP: FiM series, she has a picture of a moon. So you could say Luna has a picture of Luna. Also, Celestia I think, means Sun. And everything in our solar system first started out as star dust. So Celestia and Luna is real.

This thread appears to be discussing MLP:FiM in some way, shape or form. Thus, it has been sentenced to Show Discussion.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

You're... Joking, right? This is casual Show Discussion, but I'm not sure.

Their names were intentionally relevant to their occupations, however you're off with Celestia. Celestial means something that pertains to the heavens, making her name practically The Heavens.

Also, Celestia and Luna aren't real. It's not possible. Celestia and Luna move celestial objects around Equus, whether they are simply maintaining a steady orbit or actually controlling them entirely. This implies a Geocentric astronomical model, which is simply not the way the Solar System works.

Image is totally relevant.

Celestia originates, like the english term "celestial", from the latin term "caelum", which means "sky" or "heaven".

Find Celestia's development here http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Princess_Celestia

It is also used to describe not just celestial bodies (moons, planets and star) but also "heavenly" aspects. It doesn't necessarily mean that Celestia made the world the ponies live on. We still don't know how and when exactly they came in existence. And in terms of simplicity, I think in the end the explanation will just be that Celestia controls the sun, but didn't create the solar system.

Well, I think anything's possible. Also, as stated by , Celestia may not have made the sun, but she rather controls it.

But like I said, it could be possible. If it was, it would totally be a huge middle finger to science, but... yeah. mlp-twut.png

I'm confused here, are you talking about in the show or in real life? Oh, just wait for the religious debates to pour in... Well I mean, it's a cartoon that's obviously fiction.

Okay, I'm not saying that the ponies are real. I'm saying that Celestia is the sun and the moon is Luna. I'm saying that the sun is Celestia because of the nickname. I'm saying Luna is real because the nickname for Moon is Luna. Or maybe sometimes, I do think they are real and they control things. lol but I know mainly just about anything about space.

So then I basically said it was only 1000 years old, as 100 centuries = 1000 years. 1 century equals 100 years. So I do see your point. But everything even us, is star dust. Where else would we come from, is the main question?

Luna is based on the term "Lunar" which refers to the moon. Celestia is based on the term "Celestial" Which refers to well, space and that stuff.

So Luna does mean Moon yes. But that doesn't mean that Luna is real, as she is a pony in a cartoon.

Celestia's is technically not as accurate, but she is a cartoon pony still.
