Fleur Dis Lee - a mere pony?

Her look still bothers me, even though we know from MLP wiki that they used Luna model for some reasons, not caring too much about the consequences.

Nevertheless, this decision gave some interesting possibilities that could become canon. For example, it could be assumed that:

• she have some (real) alicorn genes
• she may be an offspring of a alicorn and a pony
• she may also represent a different pony race, like Zecora being zebra is equivalent of earth pony.

What do you think about this? Do you think that writers should exploit this case, or is it better if they leave it as it is and not bother with it anymore?

I think the artists simply wanted this supermodel looking unicorn next to Fantsy Pants and nothing else really. Yes, she looks quite a bit larger than other mares seen throughout the series apart from the Alicorn Princesses, but I think it's mere coincidence as the reason she was made to look like this (or at least why the model was used anyways) is so Fantsy Pants's consort would look exceptionally beautiful compared to other regular mares.

My headcanon is that She is Bluebloods sister and Celestias blood related niece, Why I think that? because like you said she is bigger than the other mares and seems important

I think that they simply chose the model for her because the alicorn model is more attractive than the standard mare. After all, a supermodel is supposed to be the best looking. I wouldn't read into it too far, but I guess it would be interesting if she had a backstory involving alicorns.

My headcanon is that most ponies we've seen are simply not fully grown yet. That would explain why there are some taller ponies, even if most are shorter. And this doesn't just go for mares.

 

For example:

 

Of course, it could be like with humans, too. Some simply are much taller than others because of genes. But I still like the idea of ponies being just younger and therefore shorter than others.

Yes, but what about Rarity? Isn't she enough beautiful to be supermodel? They could try to design different pony in Rarity style who also would be very pretty but not similar to her.

I think she is bluebloods sister and rarity is not taller or slimmer than the others because the wanted to make them look around the same age.

I think she's just a regular pony... And personally, I really appreciate the fact that they keep introducing different body types to the show.  I like seeing tall and slim ponies like Fleur and Inky Rose next to the standard ones.
