I don't know About you guys, but a Fanfiction where all humans are evil and must be turned into ponies to be redeemed sounds stupid. I read it but its totally wrong. when I look into the window I see some pretty decent humans that outshadow the bad ones. And Equestria Girls killed the theory that Ponies and Humans can't get along because Twilight was able to hang out with humans without that much trouble.

Yes, I hate the Convertion Bureau. They turned good Ponies into racist, unreasonable, genocidal monsters like the Darkspawn/Reapers.

 

I only like spins off like The Other Side of the Spectrum, United We Stand, and Not Alone and a few others that show Humans aren't monsters.

 

 

The Other Side of the Spectrum and United We Stand are my favorite because it's canon Ponies Vs TCB Ponies.

the only really good fics with humans in them are 'worlds apart' and 'MIA Equestria' to me

Haven't read any of them myself, but the premise sounds horrendous to me.

 

Humanity is evil, but ponies are saints? Really? That's the message of the story? If you're going to explore the evils of sentient life, then go all the way. Don't just half-ass it and say "this species is evil, but this species isn't." That's the thinking that got us shit like Avatar.

 

Strangely enough, the "deconstructions" sound even worse.  It's cute that they're attacking misanthropy, but by portraying ponies as genocidal monsters? Isn't that just the same dumb idea, but in reverse?

 

I'd like to see a TCB fic that attacks both of these things. Maybe instead of some dumb war, ponies and humans live in peace, and members of either species consider making the change for personal reasons. Just a rough idea, but I'm sick of TCB's bullshit about Earth and Equestria being destined for bloody, genocidal war. We can think of something smarter than that.

Yes, but what the creepy thing is the TCB Ponies actually thinking what they are doing is good. Sure, evil alter ego version of Celestia has placed many Ponies under mind control. 

 

Some stories explain how the Ponies became evil.

 

Some stories have Ponies fighting against other Ponies that wish to destroy Humanity. Such as The Other Side of the Spectrum and United We Stand, where canon Ponies come face to face with TCB Ponies.

Yes and no.

 

The "original" TCB fics I don't like. I feel the stories as a whole are just too weak to do anything, and the premise just isn't something that seems right, as it has some/most people just rolling over. Now, the dying and sick I can understand, as they get cured.
 But most of humanity wouldn't roll over and take it. I just don't like it.

 

 

Now, the Anti-TCB stories I really enjoy. It offers what I think is a better perspective on the humanity side of things, where humans are going all Wolverines (if you get this reference, you watched an amazing movie) on the ponies, more specifically, the terrorist group.

 

The only thing about them is that it pictures Celestia as a tyrant, except for one which has Tyrantlestia as Chysalis. I thought that was an interesting concept.

Mind control, tyrant Celestia, zombies, all of these things are pretty cliche'd, lazy explanations for why an author wants something to be evil.

 

Again, let's go back to Babylon 5. During the Earth-Minbari War, the Minbari hated the humans because the humans attacked one of their ships on first contact, and ended up killing one of their leaders. This was, of course, due to a failure of the Minbari to communicate their peaceful intentions.

 

Meanwhile, the humans hated the Minbari because the Minbari retaliation had swept through their empire, and left an awful lot of people dead.

 

That's a smart, realistic setup for a conflict between two "good" factions.

I've never read it, but it sounds awful to me. Ponies from a cute cartoon show being racist and genocidal and misanthropic? Seriously? Do ponies really have so much of an ego that they act like crusaders when confronted with humans? They sure didn't do that with dragons or yaks or kirins.
