Pondah left the even bigger group to get to know the new arrival. In the meantime, he had snuck upstairs and ran a sink of hot, soapy. Although they weren't particularly dirty, it just didn't seem right to leave these towels for Sky to clean up. It wasn't his fault that Pondah used them.

As his hooves plunged into the water, Pondah winced. Once he had become accustomed to the heat, he began to rub the towel down. Trickles of filth washed away from the towels and in a few minutes, they were clean. With a fling, he hung the saturated towels on a railing above the bath and went back downstairs.

'I need something to do...'

Skycoaster

Sky was on his third pass around Baltimare. He was leaving a streak of orange behind him as he hurried to get the clouds thinned in time for the show. He was just slightly ahead of scedual when he noticed the large storm cloud that remained in the middle. "I'll save you for last buddy." he said, hurrying to get the rest of the sky clear.

The sky was now red as the sun was beginning to set. Sky looked at the cloud again. "Your time now!"

Sky charged the large could as fast as he could, needing plenty of speed to bust it in one shot. If he didn't, he would have a mess on his hooves.

@, @, @@MichaelRogers, @@Aerodynas, @, @,

As Sky made contact with the large storm cloud, a bright flash of light filled the sky, a gigantic boom of thunder shook the weather office. Skycoaster had cleared it...it had only taken over five minuets longer than he though it would. It was now a beautiful evening in Baltimare. No thunder, lightning or rain what so ever.

Sky flew down to the door of the weather office and opened it. Just standing there looking at everypony. His fur and mane had a slight smoke coming off of them from that last thundercloud, his eyes wide open...trying to catch his breath from the exhaustion of flying.

Harry Rogers let out a sigh of relief after finishing his "duty". With the task completed, he went back into the main room.

"Anyone brought cards?" asked Harry, "I feel like we're gonna be waiting a long time 'fore the storm ends." Harry could not help but feel a little bored.

Sunny trotted up to Sky and proceeded to pat down a small flame that had sprouted on his back. She was doing her best not to laugh at the humorous looking stallion, only snickering a little as she addressed him. "Get 'er all fixed up did ya?" Sunny asked between snickers. "Here, let me get ya some water." Trotting happily back up to the restroom with a cup, Sunny filled it with as cold water she could before returning back down and holding it out to him gingerly.

Sky held out his hoof to accept the water. All of the flying had made him parched. He extended a hoof to accept it, his hoof was shaking a bit from the ordeal with the thundercloud.

"...thanks Sunny..." As he gulped the water down. He began to walk a few more steps into the office. Staggering a few times before he collapsed from exhaustion.

"...well, it's clear for you guys to set up...the storm of the century is over..."

Sunny, reacting quick to Sky's sudden fall, trotted over and pulled Sky's left forehoof over her strong shoulders. She then lifted him off the ground with a kind wink, "Now, we can't be havin' you layin on the floor like a rug ya know. Here, let me take ya upstairs to somewhere you can get ya some fine rest." Without giving him a second to respond, the jolly mare began to carry his weight and take him towards the upper portion of the office.

Rut-light hasn't said anything in a while, he used to never be like this; always having things to say.  'Maybe there really is a limit to stuff like that, having a limit on how much you can think of to say.'  Then he noticed something, it had stopped raining entirely, he couldn't hear single drop of rain and could not hear any distant thunder.  "Hey, the storm stopped," he said with a happy tone of voice, "Well, it was nice to meet you guys, and you too Sunny."  and with that, he waved goodbye to everypony then took his leave and once again started trotting the streets of the city, wandering aimlessly and just enjoying the fresh smell of past rain.

Sky was amazed by the strenght of the mare. She had just thrown him on her back, a full sized stallion being carried by a mare...how could this little pony be so strong? He could not figure it out. "Thanks Sunny," Sky said as they climbed the stairs to the upstairs apartment. "You know Sunny, I'll have to repay you somehow...Maybe when I'm rested up and not so sore, I could...sky wright you name so ponies in Baltimare would know that your in town, singing," Sky said with a fatigued smile. "Somepony has to wake me up before you sing. Promise you'll have Pondah wake me up, will you?"

Pondah stared in awe as Sky entered the building in a blaze. He wanted to help but seeing his boss, his leader in a sub-normal state had glued his hooves to the ground. Helpless, Pondah watched as Sunny carried him up the stairs. Eventually, when Pondah had overcome the shock, he dashed upstairs.

At the landing, he could see Sky was still on the back of Sunny. "Mr. Sky!" Pondah exclaimed, trying but failing to hide his shock. "What happened? Are you ok? Should I get help?"

Sunny nodded, "Oh, I wouldn't have you missin' me and Emb's concert for nothin'. Doncha be worryin' about payin' us back for somethin' trivial. We'll be alright." As soon as her words finished, she heard Pondah racing up the stairs and stammering in a panic. The mare then turned so Sky could see him but more so from her own confusion of why he was so terrified.

Sky turned his head to fave Pondah, almost to tired to do that, attempting to smile. "Pondah, I'm fine....Just tired. I may have flown a little to fast into a lightning cloud and got singed a bit...nothing more. Just sore and tired. If you could fill the tub for me, I'd appricate it. Sunny...to the tub!" he said, trying to make a wise crack, not trying to offend her. "Just soaking in this hot water is going to feel good on my wings!"

Sunny chuckled a little at his epic humor, "Alrighty commander...away!" She couldn't help but laugh a little more as she helped him to the restroom where she had dried Pondah's mane, releasing him lightly so he could sit while Pondah got the water going.

Pondah bolted into the bathroom and turned the taps on the bath. Water surged forth and splashed into bath, fillling the room with a mist. With the taps at full, the bath filled in a matter of moments. "I... Is there anything else that needs doing?" Pondah stammered, still trying to get over the shock of what had happened to Sky. "It feels wrong just standing around. I'm supposed to be working and that's what I must do."

As soon as he was given his orders, Pondah shot out of the bathroom and ran downstairs, completely forgetting what happened last time he didn't pay full attention. He took a seat behind one of the two smaller desks and pulled a quill and ink from one of the draws. He placed them on the table and watched with eager eyes as he waited for someone to turn up.

Sunny hadn't been realizing she had been staring at Sky as she listened to his commands to Pondah. She blushed a little as she turned to exit the bathroom. "Alrighty, Sky...I guess if ya need anythin' just holler," she piped somewhat embarrassingly before turning to wink at him.

Pondah waited at the desk for a while and no one came. His attention start to wane, despite his attempts to keep himself focused on his work. Soon, Pondah was slumped in his chair, his imagination going beserk.

"How could Mr. Sky get hurt like that?" Pondah said aloud, so deep in his own thoughts that he didn't realise he was talking. "He can do anything! I wish there was some way for anypony to make a cloud and turn it to run without having to fly around and get hurt..."

Picking up the quill-pen and after gathering some extra sheets of parchment, Pondah began to doodle and brainstorm ideas. Rather quickly, a crude design had been drawn up for a canister that could create a cloud.

"This seems simple enough, but getting the canister into the air will be difficult." Pondah mumbled. "I'll need to find a good method of propulsion and possibly a way of making the canisters more effective."

Satisfied with the basic model of his invention, Pondah's mind began to wonder. He stared into the distance and zoned out as his thought ran wild.

'I hope nothing got broken in that storm. Otherwise, Sunny and Ember might not be able to do their show. Everypony will be scared of getting hurt. Still, I would like to go to that show...'

Pondah sighed.

'And I know who else would. This may be the best chance of making things up. I have to take it.'

Slowly, Pondah got up from his desk and went upstairs. He knocked on the door to the bathroom and pushed the door open. "Mr. Sky," Pondah whispered. "I've just thought of something and now may be the best chance I get to do it. I'm sorry that I'm wasting work time on personal things. I'll leave consequences to you and try to be back quickly.

As silently as he entered, Pondah left the bathroom and out of the office. The air was still moist from the storm and puddles still littered the ground. Pondah galloped towards a building he'd commited to memory.

Bubble's hotel.

'Just play it cool. She'll probably be mad but she has every reason to be. If ever you've needed luck, make it now.'

In a small amount of time, Pondah was in the foyer of the hotel. He slowed down and crept up the stairs. Soon, he was at the door to Bubble's room. He waited a minute and took a lot of deep breaths. When he felt as calm as possible, he knocked.

'Here goes.'

"Uhm... One minute!" Came the muffled reply - water seeping slightly out from under the door of the hotel room. There was a pause - occasional punctuated with sounds of annoyance - before the door opened and a soaked mare poked her head out - beaming through her exhaustion. She faltered slightly on seeing who it was, but only for a moment.

"Ponder?" Bubble asked in her usual bright tone - glancing back into the room behind her as a muffled rumbling sounded from it for a second and closing the door a little more so that only her face was visible. "What are you doing her? I'm..."

Biting her lower lip, Bubble nervously double checked the room before turning back to her friend. "Uhm, sorry for shouting at you earlier... I felt really bad after that..."

Pondah perked up slightly when he heard Bubble's apology. A small smile began to form on his face. "That's why I'm here,"  Pondah replied, a little more relaxed knowing that Bubble wasn't still furious. "I came to apologise to you. I don't blame you for being mad at me. You had nothing but good intentions in mind and I kept pushing you away. If anything, getting snapped at was exactly what I needed."

Pondah sighed before continuing. "I'm came for two reasons. One was to apologise. The other was to ask you something. Some people that dropped by the office today are doing a firework show and vocal performance. I figured you would enjoy and thought I'd... er... ask if.... umm... do you want to go with me?

"Oh!" Bubble Beamed widely at the offer. She managed stop herself short of pulling the stallion into another hug - presuming that he wouldn't really appreciate being soaked, especially after the storm outside. She rocked in place as her body failed to get the message in time to stay completely still however. "I mean... That sounds great! Sorry, I just need a second..."

Vanishing inside the room, there was an angry crackle and some rather annoyed language muttered as a few more splashes of water flicked though the cracked open door - before the soggy mare returned with a smile.

"Crisis averted! Heh, Uhm, where was I? Yeah, I'd love to go with you!"

Sunny was a little worried as she saw Pondah zoom back and forth until he left, but she figured he'd be alright now that the storm was over. She then trotted back downstairs and patiently waited for everypony to go about themselves, awaiting a time to jump in.

Hearing Bubble's verdict caused the smile that had started growing on Pondah's face to instantly transform into a gleeful grin.

'YEAHHHH! Victory! Success! Finally!'

Seeing Bubble leap forward into a cuddle, Pondah outstretched a pair of legs to return the favour. When she pulled back and vanished back into her room, Pondah slowly lowered his legs in disappointment. He waited patiently as water began to form a puddle around his hooves. When Bubble returned, he spoke again. "I don't know exactly when the event is happening." Pondah stated. "Do you want to come back to the office or should I come back later? You seem pretty busy with... whatever this is. Might I ask what you are doing? Does it relate to the secret invention from last time I was here?"

"I'm done here - I was just playing around... rain is really pretty up close, you know? I really like snow but I never took the time to look at rain properly... and I don't think the other guests were too fond of the thunder..." Trailing off, she bounced over the fresh, indoor puddles - swinging the door closed as she did - grinning all the while.

Admittedly, when she was the one trailing water around, skipping over the puddles seemed like a trivial point - but it was fun, and that was what mattered. That was what always mattered. "We can go back if you like. How are you finding it, work?"
