Xena stepped forwards slightly, and felt a searing pain in his head. He writhed on the ground, and screamed into the air. He then fell into unconsciousness.

 

Dark was slightly afraid for her adopted father's life, and ran towards him. "Tempest, can you hear me?" She asked.

 

Tempest woke up and noticed a white area about the size of a door on top of a grid. He walked through and heard a door close behind him. "Where am I?" He asked, looking around.

 

A older version of Tempest appeared in front of the cyan pegesus and simply smirked. "You are within the confines of your mind." He said. "I'm here to help."The area around the two then began to take shape and formed into a basic crossroad. While one lead to a dark, malevolent space, the other led to a pasture filled with light that had almost everyone Tempest knew, aside from the enemies he had made over his life. "These are the crossroads between good and evil, Tempest Sol. Choose wisely, for there is no going back."

 

The cyan pegesus glanced at his older self and nodded. He then slammed his hoof into the ground in front of the dark recesses of his mind, and the are began to crumble into nothingness. "I know who I am. I am Tempest Sol, father of Cynthia Sol, husband of Ivy Sol, friend of many, bane of any evil that threatens this world, and the commander of Luna's royal guard. I swear on my very soul that Caras and any of his allies shall not live to see the light of the next day." He yelled, as he walked towards the light.

 

Xena appeared next to Tempest and smiled. "I will help in anyway I can." He said. "Nopony or demon uses me as a weapon. The only reason that I let you use my power is because I know that you are worthy of it."

 

Tempest nodded and smiled. "I wouldn't have it any other way my old friend. Now, I do believe it's time for us to wake up. It would be rude to keep the others waiting." The area that Tempest and Xena were in then began to disappear, and the cyan pegesus began to regain his consciousness.

"Bravo, I say bravo in deed. Such a display of strength from such a weak pony, oh and by the way Tempest, you said you swore an oath to protect Luna from harm. What if I told you, you failed. What would be the first thing that comes into your mind, how would you react to this news. Well guess what, you have failed. You think that you can protect Luna from me, Ha. You failed your princess, she is no longer one of you. She is on my side now." Caras laughed menicingly at Tempest, before vanishing.

 

He conntacted Temest telepathicly to deliver one final word.

 

"Failure."

Stardust was still flying over head, she quite liked the feel of the wind around her broken ears and it flapping her mane. She would usually just stand out in the snow storms when she wanted too, but the added feeling of using her wings was much better than just her on the ground. 

Though she needed to get to floor sometime, so she brought herself down to the earth. She remembered the ruins well, from her last visit. She went up to the front entrance, and knocked her hoof onto the door. Feeling the need to do so, because she was just in a knocking mood.

Caras heared the knocking on the door to his ruins and senced that it was Stardust at his door. 'Good she is here.' Caras walked up to the door and opened it to greet Stardust.

 

"Stardust, it is good to see you again, I see you got my message. Please do come inside."

Tempest woke up and wasn't exactly please. "Caras, watch your back. I will be the one to finally kill you and end all of the pain and suffering you have caused. For I am, Tempest Sol, Pegesus of the aura." He thought. The cyan pegesus then looked at the two dragons in front of him and nodded. "We should get back to Canterlot. There's a certain princess I have to talk to." He said, before flying into the air and towards Canterlot.

 

Dark sighed and smiled. "It's good to have you back, Tempest." She said, before flying after him.

Tempest soon arrived back at Canterlot. He entered the palace to see Minath and Luna. "Well, I'm glad nothing happened while I was away." He said. The cyan pegesus didn't believe what Caras had said about Luna, but he had to be careful in case it turned out to be true.

"Tempest it is good that you are here, but you may be a bit late. We have gone over the plans once already, but I will tell you. The plan is to use the elements of harmony agains Caras, it is our only hope left, Minath, Dark and Rambler are each takeing two. This is our last hope, I want you to go with them, for added protection. We need all of you for this. May Celestias spirit, be with you all."

Dark entered the castle and noticed Tempest and Luna. "I would actually like to give the element of magic to Tempest." She said. "I mean, I don't really use magic, and Tempest's aura manipulation comes close to being magic." The dragoness then handed said element to Tempest.

 

The cyan pegesus nodded and put the necklace on. "I won't let you down." He said.

"Good luck to all of you, now we just have to wait it out, if we fight Caras on his own territory we are bound to loose. So we must wait until him or his followers makes a move against one of the cities. Then we make our move. Take this time to say your goodbye to anyone you feel close too. For many of you may not be returning from this alive."

Sole summoned his sword and began to sharpen it, still watching for any enemies. It was almost time, all of his training and his friends sacrifices would pay off today. They would either win a wonderful victory... Or go down in a blaze of glory. Either way the dice fell it had to end soon. As he prepared for battle, his thoughts drifted to his wife. "I swear I won't die... I'll live to see you again." He mumbled

Minath felt in Luna's mind that she wasn't in control of her actions, and put up warding spells around herself and Rambler's minds. Caras would not take kindly to knowing that Minath knew that Luna wasn't herself. Minath's warding spells would last days. Her and Rambler's thoughts were safe from Luna and Caras.

Rambler probably felt a tingle in his mind when she set the spell, and she also created a spell that Celestia knew called a mind link. Now Rambler and herself could talk telepathically, and because of Minath's warding spell nopony could hear what they were saying. Minath looked to Rambler and sent him a telepathic message.

 

Now Rambler, this is going to sound weird, but we can now speak via our minds. We can withhold things and send things, and you also have a warding spell on your mind. Caras can't see our messages, I made sure of that. Luna is under Caras' control, I saw it in her mind. Minath thought, then showed Rambler via telepathy the memory of Luna's blank mind. I need you to stay as far away from her as possible. Stay close to me.

Lumi found a scrying mirror and contacted her parents in the Dragon Banks. She explained to them what was going on, but watered it down so that they wouldn't worry about her. She just hoped they understood. Then she walked over to Rambler.

 

"I may not know you well, but I've talked to Minath enough that I know you deserve this." Lumi said, then held out the element of Kindness.

Tempest shrugged and looked out into the distance. "I don't think it would be a gold idea to tell Cynthia and Ivy about this." He thought. The cyan pegedus then began to think about what Caras had said about the elements. "I might as well form a contingency plan in case things don't work out."

Most ponies might have been disturbed by the idea of someone else being inside their mind, but in a sense, Minath had occupied all of Rambler's thoughts for years anyway. He tried to send her a message back.

 

Very well. I can't imagine leaving your side at a time like this anyway. Whatever happens, I'll do all that I can to help you.

 

He then turned to Lumi. "I... I just hope that I can prove to be worthy of it." He gently took the element from her.

Minath nodded almost undetectably.

 

If everything goes as plan, you won't have to. I'm going to cleanse Luna of her corruption over time. The process has already begun. Caras won't know what hit him.

 

And it was true. Minath had started pouring cleansing magic into Luna, so little as to not alert her or Caras. In 24 hours she would be free of Caras' corruption. Caras might notice his hold on her slipping, but by then Luna would've realized she was being controlled and booted the remnants of Caras out of her mind.

"Judging by what Minath has told me, you will."

DH was in Canterlot, Guayota disguised as a regular dog. She wondered up to the palace and quickly gained entrance. Caras might not be happy about her being here, but she wasn't serving him. They were just allies.

 

She disguised herself with the help of Abezethibou, looking like a female Canterlot Guard. She stepped into the room where the defenders and Luna were talking, listening to their conversations. Each element seemed to be going to a different pony, and if they all received one each, and deserved that one, Caras' hold on them might be broken. DH stayed and listened to their conversations.

He waved a hoof dismissively at Lumi's response. "Minath is, and always has been, far too kind to me. I can hardly promise that I'll live up to the reputation she's made for me."

It's like he never left. She thought to herself, taking care not to send that to Rambler.

Rambler couldn't quite read her thoughts, but the smile on Minath's face was enough for him. Without a word, he wrapped a foreleg around her shoulders and continued to smile, contentedly. Whatever was coming, at least they would be facing it together. He turned back to Lumi again. "I guess we will. Hopefully neither I nor anyone else will be found lacking when the time comes."

There's a scrying mirror if you want to talk to your family. It requires magic so I can set it up for you, if you want. Flint, Emerald and Pops outta be happy to see you.

"Hopefully none of us will." Lumi said, then bowed her head and departed, going to the armory and putting on her purple armor. She stayed there, meditating.

Rambler leaned his head against hers, his nose half buried in her soft mane. He sent another message back.

 

I probably should. But... can you stay with me while I'm talking to them? If we don't make it out of this, I'd at least like them to meet the mare I love once, even if it can't be in person.

 

((I assume this takes place in an alternate universe and/or prior to the story you're probably never going to finish, and thus she hasn't actually met them.)

Chivalry was finishing up slaying more of his bubble targets. Afterwards he stopped for a slight moment and thought to himself. 'it's a good thing that I don't have anypony really close to me, that way, even if I die; there won't be anyone I have to worry about. Because the day i die, is the day I know for a fact that Caras is dead!' 

Chivalry looked all beaten up, His mane was messy and he was full of dirt and sand. His breaths were heavy and his legs were tired. But he knew that he couldn't take a break, He had to hurry and finish his training, it's only a little while longer and he'll be finished. He'll be ready to take down Caras or Stardust.

Chivalry created more bubble targets and started up again.

But that's a story for a different time. Although It's been about two years from the last time I spoke to them. I need to tell them that I found you... finally.

I never knew that. I can't tell you how much it means to me that you tried so hard to find me, or how sorry I am that I couldn't return to your side sooner. We lost seven years together, and I'll never be able to forgive myself for that.

Don't cry. I've forgiven you. You tried hard to get back to me, and that's all I can ask. Agápi̱ mou gia séna eínai ápeiri̱. My love for you is infinite. Now let me take you to that scrying mirror. Minath sent, then led Rambler away by the hoof to the scrying Mirror and charged it up.

 

"Now all you need to do is say who you wish to contact. The mirror will do the rest."

He approached the mirror with caution, not having used one before. He spoke the names of his family members and turned to Minath. "After all this time, I'm not sure what to say. Maybe you should be the first one to talk to them."

Minath nodded and approached the mirror. After a moment, the reflection swirled and in Rambler's home in Stallionshire appeared, showing the image out of the mirror in Rambler's living room, but the stallions of the house were nowhere to be seen.

 

"Flint! Emerald! Pops! Are you guys in? I want to talk to you guys about something."
