Rock snatched the papers from the stallion and inspected them.

 

"Ruined... Ruined... Ruined... Good!" He put the intact drawings in his saddlebag and threw the rest overboard. He turns to Repsol.

 

"It's a bit of a tragedy, but it could be worse" He shrugs "Thanks for helping by the way. I'm Rock, might I ask your name?"

Repsol looked in slight pain as the stallion threw the papers overboard wich he just picked up. he had no time to object however, as the stallion started talking.

"oh, ehrm.. think nothing of it. just glad to help" Repsol said as he shot the stallion a slight smile.

"I'm Repsol Rave. but everypony just calls me Repsol."

"Ah, well thanks for helping me Mr. Rave" Rock shook Repsol's hoof "As a pony who follows the code of chivalry, I must insist that I repay this favour somehow"

 

Rock quickly pulls out a notebook and scribbles Repsol's name in it and how many favours he owes.

"return the favor?" Repsol tapped his hoof in thought for a few seconds. "i... don't really know what to ask actually. i mean, i don't really need anything at the moment. but if you really need to repay the favor then i guess you could send Minty or Punk Beat over to me once you see them. i'd really like to hang out with them som emore, but they seem to be avoiding me or something." 

he looked back at the stallion.

"if that's okay with you ofcourse."

"Minty and Punk Beat?" He scratched his chin "I think I might of met Minty, but the other pony I have not heard of"

 

Rock puts his notebook back in his saddlebag

 

"I know!" He said "Why don't we both look for them? I'm always up for meeting new ponies, and I'm sure with both of us searching, we'll find them faster"

Repsol smiled at the stallion's sudden enthousiasm. "sounds like a plan!" he said as he turned to trot away. after two steps however, he turned back towards Rock. "ehrm, i don't suppose you have any idea where we can start searching for them?"

he looked over the ship once.

"this thing is kinda big too."

Rock scratched his head "Ummm..."

It was an awfully big ship. And he couldn't fly up to search because the weather was starting to get worse, it'd be too dangerous.

 

"A good place to start would be the canteen" He said "Every pony visits that place at least once a day, so we might see them there"

"smart thinking!" Repsol said as he turned towards the staircase to the lower deck.

the decks of the ship seemed entirely empty. everypony was inside somewhere hiding from the rain.

Repsol trotted down the stairs and turned left towards the canteen. there seemed to be some movement inside

"well, atleast somepony's in there." he said through the weather wich continued to get worse.

(( OOC: Finally managed to get back on the Forums to post.. ))

 

Minty trotted throughout the boat, trying to find something to eat. "This IS a luxury cruise.. where is the buffet...? And where are we going? And where is the captain? I'm getting off track." Minty finally found a food source; a kitchen. "Aw come ON. There's no chef, either? There's something weird about this cruise." Without thinking where she was headed, she trotted towards the canteen and just sat down for a rest.

as Repsol pushed the doors of the canteen open, he could see who where inside.

he could see the mare he nearly crashed into when he was racing with Minty earlier. and some other ponies he couldn't recognise.

i should probably go apologise to her. he thought.

after scanning the room some more, he saw Minty sitting at a table.

"hey Minty!" Repsol said as he trotted over to her, completely forgetting about everything else.

Minty looked up, actually surprised to see Repsol. "Hey, Repsol! What are you doing here?" Minty asked, hit with a sudden confidence. "What are you doing here?" Minty said, suddenly realizing she sounded rude. She managed to smile like nothing was wrong; though.

Repsol looked at his hooves when he pawed the ground sheepishly. "i was looking for you actually." he said giving the mare a slighlty awkward grin.

"i still didn't apologise for getting you to race with me. i mean, you hurt your hoof and all." 

he shot the mare a more sincere grin now.

"so well, i'm sorry."

Rock casually walks over, nomming a pineapple.

 

"Sorry, I saw some food and I got a bit peckish and...:" He saw a delicate scene was playing out between Minty and Repsol "I'll just continue eating"

 

He sheepishly waited as the two ponies talked amongst themselves.

"It's okay. I guess I was cheating a little," Minty said honestly, smiling a assuring smile. "I guess I didn't need to cheat, since I knew I was gonna win anyway," she teased, winking, then standing up. "I deserved to hurt my hoof. I accept your apology, Repsol." Minty said, looking around the room to see Lume. "I think I might be scared of Lume now.." she laughed.

 Repsol let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding upon hearing Minty's reply.

"well, only way to settle that is to have a re-match once." he smiled, but then suddenly remembered what happened last time.

"or maybe we could always...not hehe."

he then looked over to the mare he only knew as 'that mare i almost crashed into'.

"but why are you afraid of her? if you don't mind me asking, that is."

"I don't know.. she seems a little hostile. And it sounds like she's annoyed by Rock, judging by the conversation they have whenever I pass by them. I guess I feel like I should stay away from her," Minty said, looking around and seeing Rock politely watching the conversation. "Hey, Rock!" Minty smiled.

Lume kept on calmly eating the portion of toasted hay, crackers and apple juice she had picked up when she arrived the diner. Sitting in a quite isolated table at the corner of the room, she was able to overhear a conversation nearby.

 

"hey Minty!"

 "Hey, Repsol! What are you doing here?"

"i still didn't apologise for getting you to race with me. i mean, you hurt your hoof and all." 

"It's okay. I guess I was cheating a little,"

 

She rolled her eyes, soon identifying the ponies talking and the subject. She kept focus on the food and didn't bother looking over, but the idle conversation was slowly worsening her already awful mood.

Rock choked on his pineapple as soon as his name was mentioned. He coughed up a chunk and regained composure.

 

"Hello Minty" He smiled "Is your hoof doing okay? I can try to take a look at it if you want"

 

Rock pulled a large medical book and stared to flick through the pages, looking for a topic on injured hoofs.

Minty laughed at Rock's offer. "I'm okay, really. I just need to let it heal for a little, that's all. You don't need to worry about me." Minty put her hoof on Rock's shoulder, wincing, then splattering a fake smile on her face so that she wouldn't worry him. "Rest assured, Rock. I'm sure I'll be okay by tomorrow.. but sure, you can look at it."

Rock was slightly unnerved by Minty's fake smile.

 

"Okey dokey, I'll just give this a quick check" He held Minty's hoof and gave it a quick prod "Seems like there is still a bit of swelling. That can't be comfortable"

 

He turned to Repsol "Repsol, could you be a kind fellow and fetch some ice. It ought to help with the swelling"

((OOC: sorry to be so late to respond. there is a pretty big thunderstorm out here now, so i didn't really have internet. it seems to be over a bit now tough.))

Repsol perked up upon hearing his name. he didn't like to admit it but he was kind of staring at Minty's flank the whole time.

"yeah, sure can do. i'll be back in a bit." he said, as he trotted away to get some ice.

Minty nodded, sitting down. She noticed that Repsol hasn't been talking for a long while; right until he was told to get the ice. "It doesn't hurt that much.. it just hurts a little when I use it to pick up something. See?" Minty demonstrated by picking up a cup, wincing, then dropping the cup.

"You might have injured the muscle, but I can't tell without an X-ray" Rock shrugged "Better to be safe than sorry though"

 

Rock noticed the unique body language and extended eye contact that was happening between Repsol and Minty.

 

"So... I take it you quite like Repsol" Rock grinned

after some looking around, Repsol finally found a crew pony.  he asked for the ice, and shortly after came trotting back with an icepack.

"hey, i got this here. i hope it'll be enough." he said as he handed the icepack to Rock.

he shuffeled his hoof around on the floor awkwardly for a few more minutes before he spoke up again.

"so ehrm.. Minty. i don't want to seem weird or anything but do you think it would be cool to go out sometime?"

he shot the mare the most convincing smile he could master

Minty was taken aback by Rock's question. "W-what? How'd you know?!" Minty asked while Repsol was still gone.

Minty blushed at the sudden remark Repsol just said. "Am I dreaming? This can't be happening. This just can't.." Minty shook it off. "I.. um, sure! I would love to!"
