OOC Thread: Beep

 

 

Dog Ears woke up at his normal time and did his normal routine. Which was jumping off of his bed and tackling his do, Nestle. The two companions got up from their morning wrestle and began getting ready for the day. It was a little cold in Fillydelphia this time of year but Dog Ears didn't mind. As the pony made himself and his friend something to eat, the dog woke up several other animals in different rooms of the house with loud barks. Soft meows, squeaks, and barks along with many other sounds could be heard as Dog Ears' roommates began to wake up. Nestle came back into the main living part of the house just in time for breakfast. "Hey Nestle how about I take the cats this time? Last time it didn't end very well." Nestle looked away in a possible scene of embarrassment before sucking the food into the vacuum that was his stomach. Dog Ears pulled several bags of different food in a wagon as his dog did the same. After feeding all of the animals in the house, Dog Ears decided to go out for a stroll with Nestle. "Come on buddy let's go for a walk." The mostly brown beagle jumped towards the door with his loving owner, and the two set off in the brisk air towards the local park.

Astro blast strolled leisurely out the door of the Fillydelphia Inn that he was staying at, until his house was properly set up. "Two more days, and I'll have my own place." He said to himself excitedly. He was beyond tired of eating the same blank Inn meals every single day and night, and sleeping on the not so comfy excuse that the Inn called a bed. He would be so relieved when he finally got to move into his house. Of course he would miss his mother who had stayed in Ponyville, as she said she was too old to move again and she wanted to stay close to where his father had...Passed. But he would send her weekly, probably daily letters about his new home and adventures. Naturally he would leave out the part where he found a job on the local demolitions crew, because his mother absolutely loathed his career field, due to how many terrible thing could happen to him...

"Well no need to dwell on the depressing stuff!" He said to himself, continuing on his stroll around the city.

Lyona locked up her tiny apartment with a sigh. She had just recently moved to Fillydelphia, and it was quite boring since she hadn't met anypony yet. 

 

A mew from the apartment was heard, followed by some scratches at the door. 

 

" I put some food in you bowl already, go check there." Lyona mumbled to the kitten at the other side of the door. The scratching stopped. With a small smile brightening up her features, the pegasus decided to go to the park. Might be some more stray cats there too, I am supposed to take them to the shelter If I find one. 

 

Walking among the trees in the park was quite relaxing, especially since not that many ponies were around. She noticed a pony walking his dog, and smiled at the cute animal. Even if I prefer cats, doesn't mean I can't appreciate the other animals.

Charcoal woke up that morning in her small house at the edge of fillydelphia. Upon waking she gets a shower, eats breakfast and walks out the door to go to work. She works right now at a construction site on the south east edge of town. "Sigh, another day another day to stay hidden." Charcoal generally shy demenor causes her to want to stay out of site most of the time. And considering she is surrounded by stallions most of the day she is welcome to some peace and quiet.

Minty was going on her daily 2-mile flying session. She's woken up at 4 in the morning and is still flying, for the fun of it. She kept flying until she saw ponies coming out of their cottages for a walk, and smiled. "At least I get to meet somepony new here.." Minty eventually crashed into somepony and fell to the ground.

 

(( OOC: It doesn't really matter who she bumped into; just the first person who posts, I guess...? ))

Dog Ears nodded in greeting as he passed the pony, for his parents had told him it was the polite thing to do when passing someone. Nestle, though, began a very low growl in the very back of his throat. Dog Ears almost jumped at the sound, Nestle never acted like that. Unless... "Nestle she's not a cat. Even if she smells like cat she's not a cat okay? Jeez I don't know what to do with you sometimes. Just keep walking you big loaf." Dog Ears made sure to whisper to reduce the probability of the pony hearing him. Nestle followed grudgingly but started acting normal after a couple seconds.

Dog Ears looked up just in time to see a mint green pony crash right into him. He got up and brushed himself off. "Well that was quite something. Are you okay?"

 Minty got up and shook it off. "Oh! I'm so sorry; I wasn't looking where I was going! I'm so so sorry!" Minty exclaimed, flying down to the floor to pick up her saddlebag and threw it on her back. "Again, I'm really sorry..!" Minty said, frowning.

Dog Ears smiled and shook his head. "No no it's fine I understand. And trust me I live with this mutt here, so I'm used to getting tackled every now and then. I'm Dog Ears by the way. I'm the owner of the animal shelter, which now that I think about it is really just my house. Anyway I guess that's not really important. May I ask your name?" Nestle sat diligently as Dog Ears greeted the newcomer. He wanted to make sure the clumsy pony didn't hurt his friend again.

As Charcoal was walking along on her way to work she notices a mint green Pegasus mare flying around. Normally she would have given her a second though, if it wasn't for the fact that she had just crashed into another pony. She watched as they got io and dusted themselves off but she still wanted to make sure they were ok. "Hey are you two ok, are either of you hurt?"

Minty smiled. "Th-thank you! I would've never forgiven myself for that.." Minty said. "I'm Mintatheena. But you could call me Minty. Cute little pup you got there!" Minty said, gesturing to Nestle. "Are you alright, though? I hope you are. It'd be terrible if I hurt you."

Nestle barked happily at Minty at the compliment. Dog Ears laughed and nodded. "Yea he is isn't he? Definitely not cute around cats though. And yes I'm fine. Thanks for the concern. I'd feel just as terrible if the roles were reversed. But I don't have wings so..." Dog Ears gave a little laugh. "It was nice meeting you Minty. Hope to see you again some time." Dog Ears began to walk away and nearly ran into a pony who had asked him a question. "Oh yea I'm fine. And I think she's fine too. She didn't really seem hurt."

Minty trotted back to her cottage. "It's a shame that I had to leave so early.. he wasn't that bad looking either." Minty opened the door and flicked on her television. Although, she was a little tempted to go out and try to find the animal shelter. She wanted to adopt one of them.. so her ambitions got the best of her and she trotted outside. Yet again.

Swift Quill woke up with a yawn and stretched his legs. Hearing his stomach growling, he decides that it would be a good idea to get some grub to eat. On his way out of the inn, he thinks to himself, "I wonder if that lead on my parents is correct." As he was thinking to himself, he wasn't watching where he was going and he bumps into a strange pony. "Oh sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going. My name is Swift Quill by the way." He holds out a hoof to shake.

Lyona chuckled when the dog began to growl at her. Heh. He or she can probably smell Leo on me. Oh well.

 

She watched the other ponies' conversations quietly. Her ears perked up when she heard that one of the ponies was the owner of the shelter. Maybe I could ask him later about volunteering...

 

 

 

"Oh sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going. My name is Fire Heart by the way." He holds out a hoof to shake.

 

Lyona staggered a little on the impact. She shook her head, chiding herself for being such a featherweight. " It's okay. Mine's Lyona." She shook the stallion's hoof.

He shuffles his hooves, and hears an animal cry coming from somewhere in the sky above him. Hearing the cry, he smiles, "I umm... don't suppose you could please help me?" He asks

Astro Blast made his way to the park, intending on sitting down and just taking a look around him. Although he had been in the city for over a week, he hadn't taken the time to find any of the leisure locations. His main focus was finding the post office, medical clinic, and the local authorities.

As he entered the park he noticed quite a few mares and a few scattered stallions here and there. He saw that they all seemed to be conversation with one another so he stepped to the side and sat under a tree. Perhaps he would introduce himself at a later time.

Dog Ears noticed that the crash made him late for opening. "Um sorry I have to run. Thanks for the concern though!" He briskly trotted in the direction of his house/shelter. As he passed the pony he had seen before, Nestle once again produced a low growl. Dog Ears tapped him on the nose and smiled apologetically at the pony. "Sorry about him! He usually only acts that way around cats!" Dog Ears continued walking towards his house and ran inside. He got everything ready to open, and he flipped the sign on his house. Nestle sat close to the door to greet everypony who walked in. "Oh thank Luna today's an early close day. I'm just not really feeling up to it today Nestle. Ya know what I mean?" The beagle barked happily and his tongue lolled out the side of his mouth. Dog Ears laughed and started checking on the other animals. When someone entered, Nestle would bark so Dog Ears would know to come to the front desk.

"I suppose it's pretty obvious, but I'm pretty new here and am kind of lost."

 

" Heh, not to me. I'm new too, but I know the basic layout of the city..."

 

 

 

"I umm... don't suppose you could please help me?" He asks

 

" Sure, I'll try to help you, as much as I can. What do you need help with?" Lyona heard the animal's cry and looked up in confusion, wondering if a bird or something was in pain.

He looks a bit lost... If Fire Heart needs to find a place or something, I could ask the other pony to come along as well.

 

 

 

Nestle once again produced a low growl. Dog Ears tapped him on the nose and smiled apologetically at the pony. "Sorry about him! He usually only acts that way around cats!"

 

Lyona shook her head in confusement. Maybe I look like a cat? Probably just 'cause I smell like one...

(ooc - Oh and I changed the name to Swift Quill, i am sorry if it caused confusion (i hope that it was ok and that it's ok for me to have a pet phoenix, if not I can change it))

Alona walked out the door of the Golden Apple Hotel with a spring in her step, with this being her first time in Fillydelphia and all she was excited to say the least ."I'm so excited to get started on my new book" she though as she walked down the street "Even though I know I want to write a story about animals,I still don't know how I want the story to go, maybe I should go to the park for some ideas or ask a  local where the animal shelter is or something" as she reached the park she noticed a gray Pegasus stallion  sitting under a tree and decided to go ask him about the city and if he knew where the shelter was.

Well his cry was still a little far away so it's no surprise we can't see him yet." Swift Quill says, he puts his parents' photograph back in his saddlebags. In answer to Lyona's question, if he wants to accompany her and the other pony, Swift Quill nods.

" That's adorable." Lyona cooed, looking at the pendant and then back at Swift Quill. " I know a nice cafe not too far from here, it's pretty cheap and has some really tasty sandwiches. Their soup's okay, but I've tasted better. Do you want to go there?" She offered.
