Dog Ears smiled and shook his head. "No charge. I'm just looking to find these guys a home. I also work as a vet here so don't worry about not making any money cuz I do." Dog Ears looked around his house that he had turned into a shelter. His living space was on the second floor, but the whole first floor was dedicated to the shelter and Dog Ears' job. "You know what... Maybe it would be good to not do this all myself for once." Nestle barked at Dog Ears. "Okay I'll rephrase that. it would be good to have another pony help out. Anyway I guess you could come by tomorrow to help out. I usually close early on Sundays so I don't see the point in you staying for just a couple of hours. Unless of course you want to stay."

Minty laughed nervously. "I-um, of course; sure!" Minty stuttered. Minty petted the Akita sitting next to her. Minty sat down on the cashier counter. "So, um, what do you need help with..?" Minty said as calm as she could. "Finally..! I get to get to know Dog Ears better.. I mean, if he's willing to, anyway. Not like he'd ever like me back."

" It's fine. I live with a cat, I've had worse." Lyona rolls back her shoulders, wincing. 

 

Swift Quill smiles, "Very well then. You must be very special, Aodh normally takes quite a while to warm up to new ponies. And never before has he made a perch on their shoulders."

 

 

 

" The only thing I can think of is the police station. If you know what your parents' cutie marks mean, then you can check out anything that's connected to that. A place to stay?" Lyona tapped a hoof against her chin thoughtfully. " There's a bed and breakfast not too far from where I live, decently priced. Or you can stay over at my house, I have a bunk bed." 

 

Swift Quill thinks for a moment, "Well, if what I remember is correct, my mother's cutie mark is somewhat similar to mine, as she was an author before they disappeared, and my father... I believe that he was in some sort of medical profession. So I guess the police station would be a good idea. Oh and if it isn't any trouble, I'd like to stay at your place. I've heard some pretty bad things can happen at those bed and breakfast places. Although to be fair it's only because I've read it in novels." He chuckles a little, "Oh but don't you have a cat? How will he be with Aodh around?"

Dog Ears thought for a moment. "Um... Well right now you should probably get to know Dare a little better. I don't really have anything for you to do right now, or for me for that matter, so just getting to know Dare would probably be best." Dog Ears smiled and looked around his building. He didn't really know why, but e started feeling slightly awkward. "So are you from around here Minty/ I don't remember seeing you before. Then again I don't really get out that much. Wow that made me sound a little anti social." Dog Ears laughed a little nervously.

"Well, I moved to good ol' Fillydelphia last week. I don't think you would be antisocial.. I don't think anypony here gets out that much," Minty laughed. Minty noticed that the conversation started to get awkward. "Hey.. I could leave now if you want. I feel like I'm starting to bore you."

"No it's fine, it's usually boring around here anyway." Dog Ears winced at his words. "Um, n-not that you're boring or anything! I'm just um... No it's fine you can stay. Do you want to talk about something?" Nestle had resumed his post at the front door and plopped onto the floor with a light thud. Dare pounced on him and the two dogs started wrestling. Dog Ears chuckled as the two rolled around on the floor.

"No no, you're fine. Let's see, I was moved here for a while to help with the construction on a building. Yes as a filly I used to live in cloudsdale but almost never go there now. I build a lot of things and occasionally help with building construction. Sure we can hang out later and I read for fun, or climb."

Minty looked at the two dogs dueling. "I'm actually pretty antisocial myself. I can get shy around ponies. I guess you're probably the only pony I've talked to since I've gotten to Fillydelphia, since I'm too chicken to talk to anypony else." Minty laughed.

Dog Ears laughed a little. "Well I'm not anti-social. Far from it actually. I just don't really leave the house too much. And I made sure I didn't have any close neighbors so they wouldn't get annoyed by all the noise. But yea I'm probably the only person in Fillydelphia who you can crash into and become friends with in a matter of minutes." Dog Ears gave another small laugh and walked over to the two dogs. He managed to jump directly in between the two of them and stopped their fighting. "Alright before one of you hurts the other, maybe we should calm down some huh?" Nestle continued to lay on the ground he was on and Daredevil walked over and sat next to Minty.

Astro smiled, "Ah well, I moved here because this city has a great demolitions team, and plus there's an endless amount of work to be done, so I don't ever have to worry about a dry spell when it comes to bits. I guess that's really the only reason why I moved here..." He said trailing off. He didn't add the part about how he just needed some time away from his mother. He loved her, but sometimes she was a bit too overbearing and worrisome. "So are you planning on adopting? A pet, I mean." He clarified after a moment.

Minty grinned. "I envy you for that. If only I wouldn't have been so quiet.. Staying home all day and whatnot. I just don't get how you do it." Minty looked at Dare Devil pad over to her. "I may not be as good as Fluttershy, but I can still care for animals," Minty said, nuzzling Dare Devil and biting her lip.

"Well, that's good." Alona replied smiling "They say big city's never really stop growing, I can imagine you'll have good work here" she paused before answering the question "Oh. No I already have a pet fox, Quill  back home,My best friend and editor is watching her for me, You see even though the hotel I'm staying at allows pets I would have had to be careful to make sure nopony freaked out when they saw her. I'm just going to the shelter for research"

"Well I'm not all that picky about what I want to do, just as long as I'm doing something active and not just walking and looking around. So maybe a race, that would be fun to do." As Charcoal says this she has another thought. "Wait hang on a sec." Opening her saddle bag she reaches in and brings out a pocket watch and looks at the time. "Danget, my lunch break is almost over." Putting it back she looks back at Richard. "Sorry DJ but it looks like I will have to leave soon. I still have some work to do today."

" Firstly it is best to check in the police office. Then, if you didn't find anything, check the newspaper offices and the hospitals." At the end of her sentence, Lyona yawned a little.

 

" Sorry." Her cheeks reddened slightly. " Usually around this time I have a nap, so I'm a bit sleepy. Sure, you can stay at my place. I don't mind. Leo would probably just hiss at him before hiding, so don't worry. My cat hates practically everything and everyone." She chuckled.

Astor widened his eyes in surprise. "A pony with a fox for a pet? Well that's the first time that I've heard that!" He laughed. When they reached the animal shelter, Astro opened the door and gestured for her to go first. "Mare's first, that reminds me! We never introduced ourselves did we?"

Dog Ears cocked his head. "I don't really get it either. Ponies would make fun of me in school for my ears. They teased me and started calling me Dog Ears. So I went with it and tried to make those ponies my friends. I guess I've always been friendly." Dog Ears looked up at the door as it was opening. A mare and a stallion were walking into the building. "Hi there! What can I help you with?"

Minty gasped. "Ponies made fun of you? Oh, I'm so sorry..! I really do hope you're okay. I never really was bullied, but I was just shy, so nopony really n-noticed me.." By then, Minty noticed that Dog Ears went off to help a customer. She face hoofed herself. "Talking to yourself again! Way to make a impression!" Minty thought to herself.

Alona nodded and smiled  "a lot of Ponies are surprised when I tell them I keep a fox as a pet." She replied as they reached the shelter "Thank you for holding the door for me ,and your right I don't think we properly introduced ourselves" she said as she walk into the building, where they were imminently greeted by a stallion who had the oddest looking ears but Alona was never one to judge so she shrugged it off.

Lyona shrugs. " I'm no crafter, but I can make it livable and comfy." She shot up into the air, trying to locate her house. In a matter of seconds, she had already found it.

Dog Ears had heard what she said about her pet. "Oh you have a fox? I have a couple foxes if you're looking for someone to keep them- Oh my job? Well my job is being a veterinarian  If someone wants to get a check up on their animal or their animal is hurt or sick, I'm the one to come to. As for all the animals here, I just want to find them a good home. Nestle, my dog, and I go through the woods every now and then to see if there are any hurt animals. And other stray animals find their way to my house somehow. It's great to see people leave with new companions by their side. Er... sorry if that wasn't very good. I wasn't expecting an interview."
