What if mlp was as big a deal as hugely popular shows like dr who am I the only person who would love it but feels like it would be bad for the show because more rule thirty four stuff would be popping up

It already is huge... I'd actually say MLP: FiM is more popular than Dr. Who. And the rule 34 is fine by me, I just ignore, I don't care about it.

Does MLP: FiM need to be around for 50 years to be famous and a big deal? No. It doesn't, because it's a very good quality show that doesn't need years and years of series to be famous.

Uh... it kinda already is. If you haven't noticed, the conventions alone dwarf most others by sheer size alone. We're already a hugely active and large community.

Considering the original target audience for the show and how much it has expanded beyond that since it first aired, I think we are quite a large community; much larger and more diverse than anyone could have predicted and in such a short time as well.  How many other shows have conventions such as the ones within this community organize?  

 

As far as the R34, it would exist either way so that is hardly a noteworthy factor.

Meh, 7 million people watch MLP:FiM, I'd say we're a pretty freaking huge fanbase. It's actually getting to the point where when people think of fandoms, they think, hmm, Doctor Who, Star Trek, and My Little Pony.

This show is huge, this fanbase is huge, the merchandize is huge, the company is huge, the Rule 34 is huge, the parodies are huge. I think you get the point. MLP FiM is already very popular.

We are going to be one of those remembered Fandoms for sure, we are already huge and growing. All this anti-brony criticism and effort shows how huge we've gotten.

 

You can go on nearly any popular YouTube video and sift through the comments and more than likely you'll find several obvious Bronies.

 

And with Xbox Live having MLP content... It's already safe to say we are pretty huge.

Dude MLP:FIM is HUGE if it gets any bigger its going to take over the world... hmmmm maybe It should get bigger.. anyway MLP is a big show! So many ponies all over the world know what it is, and it is way bigger then Dr who....

It would be interesting if it did get as big as the Trekkies or Star Wars fans. I still think we're smaller than Doctor Who. That show had a spotlight on youtube for the next Doctor reveal. We don't have anything close to that. The thing is with ponies is that it's much more polarizing fandom wise than other shows. I can go up to anyone in America, and there's more than a 50% chance that they like Star Wars. Finding a really big fan, though, is somewhat hard. With MLP it's usually you're a big fan or you just don't care at all.

if MLP:FIM became as popular and enjoyed as Doctor Who, that would be SOO...AWESOME!!!!   although...the R34 stuff is an issue if it were to become hugely popular.
