That one is nothing like the original Game. That monster was even renamed Zilla by Toho in order to make sure nobody mistook it for the real Godzilla.

The 1998 move isn't even a remake. The monster is literally nothing like the original. The only thing they have in common is that they are both giant Dinosaurs.

 

 Zilla doesn't even have the trademark atomic breath!

The original Japanese Godzilla had 28 films.

 

 This new American one is a reimagining. That other one was nothing like the original at all. Take the name Godzilla out and you wouldn't even be able to tell they were related.
