Surprising fact of the day

 

There is a UN treaty on the rights of children. A part of it says that every child born on Earth has the right to a name. Every country in the world has signed this treaty but three: 

• South Sudan - Earth's newest country; probably hasn't had time to get to it yet;
• Somalia - because it lacks a central government; and
• The United States....

Why?

 

There are some groups that believe the United States is supreme (Murica) and shouldn't have to answer to an outside authority. but it's also because that treaty disallows the death penalty for children.

 

In fact, up until 2005, 22 states allowed children to be executed for crimes.
