I was just thinking that this is kinda the go-to CPU. And I paid 240 freaking bucks for it. I thought they could at least give us the courtesy of hyperthreading lol

Speaking of CPUs, Skylake is launching this Wednesday.

 

But then again, not really too excited with it, considering that Intel's gains since Sandy Bridge have been fairly incremental. Heck, even those CPUs from 2012 are still fairly relevant today, and will still not bottleneck even a Titan X or a 980 Ti, especially with a little bit of overclocking.

I hope this is the biggest improvement for AMD ever. I don't think they'll knock down the titan that is Intel, but I want them to make another comeback. Competition drives innovation, after all. And Intel practically has a monopoly on the CPU world. Anyone who argues to the contrary because AMD and IBM still exist don't quite understand how much of the market is owned by Intel. At least AMD's GPU division is doing alright. I'd like to see more games using Mantle.

I'll give MS this - they've come a long way with the Xbone. 

What if you combine DX12 with Mantle? Would you get double the effect?
