None of my guys have died on Outer Ops in Peace Walker. I always send them out with a tank or something to keep them safe.

there is actually a list with all members you kicked or did die. most are kicked, there are, like in PW, soldiers with special talents. however there are also some in the game, with the ability "Troublemaker, who make your troup sick, getting into fights or just stink trough not washing enough. those are only sink the morale, the best is too fire those, even when some actually had a B-Rank in a team

 

teams are

 

Combat-Unit: The unit you can send for main or side missions, or sending to Outside missions. Those are also mostly the ones who protect your base, if it gets attack trough another online player *If turned off or generally not online, nothing like that can happen*

 

Base-Unit: Those who build up new parts of your base when ordered and other stuff for it

 

Weapon/Equipment-Team: Those, who build you new weapons and equipments

 

Intel-Team: The unit who informs you, if enemies are close-by or other important stuff during missions

 

Medic-Team: Those, who care for injured members and building stuff like pentazemin
