Might just have to get a few more years of experience in my field and just pray that something opens up there. Even as a temporary position. The Amundsen-Scott South Pole station only has 50 permanent workers who are there all year and about 140 - 160 workers during the summer months when tourist season kicks  up (or so I've read). It's also just incredibly difficult to get a job there. Some guy I was reading about hunted a job there for four years. I can understand why they'd be highly selective in their hiring process. They don't want to send just anyone to the south pole. Only the most motivated, most passionate, and hardiest individuals should get that honor. Still, I can't wrap my mind around how amazing the place would be. I mean, I've wanted to go there for years, but I just don't know if I'd ever really get the opportunity. :|

One of my lecturers did three stints with B.A.S., back in the day with huskies (and you could go out and shoot 300 seals to give food for winter).
