Why does it shock you? Lol It's a fairly well known fact here that they pump fruit juice full of sugar. At least the juice has nutrients.

like, from the values I found, 100g apple have the same amount of sugar as 100ml coke... and that surprised me.

Oh aye. Pardon me. Haven't had my covfefe yet. 

Was it prepackaged? Lol I mean, sugar is natural But yeah, It's a different sugar in fruits than what you get in sugarcane. AFAIK your body processes fruit sugar more efficiently so it's less likely to be turned to fat. At least that's what I've read.

Also, who has only 100 ml of coke. Cans here are usually 355 ml minimum. You can find them smaller, but it's not incredibly common. 

In other words, america is full of fat asses.

Well fruits contain fructose or glucose.
Sugarcane contains sucrose, but that's just 1 fructose and 1 glucose tied together, so...

The cans on the aircraft are quite small, maybe 150ml (would have to look)

We have nutritional information usually given as "per 100ml" and/or "per serving" on the packaging. 

So you might have to times by 3.57 for your standard can, or hopefully 1 serving = 1 can :|

Nah, man. We usually have serving sizes as 1 can, 1 bottle, 1 bag, 21 chips, etc. They do show mass on the nutrition facts panel, but yeah, I can't say I've ever seen a serving size in the US that was 100 ml of coke. On the bottles, they may do one column for a whole bottle and another for an 8 ounce serving, which is about 240 ml.
