Yes, I make ArmA video, tutorials and let's plays...

but currently I am not really doing anything as I am out of ideas

 

I am trying to get a simple OpenGL Application running on Linux.

I have the Code, which ran fine under windows, because visual studio just does everything automatically for you, but on linux I now have to take care of including libraries and s**t myself with Cmake and I have no goddamn idea how it's supposed to work, and google is not really helping right now -.-

I've always held religious beliefs my whole life, but I believe in scientific fact where things can be proven through empirical means. For example, we have been able to show that animals adapt to live in their varying environments, and those not suited for the environment in which they live have the least chance of surviving and mating and those genes are thus weeded out. 

 

It almost seems to me that those who hold religious beliefs take science as this thing that seeks to disprove their faith, but I don't think it's quite like that. I think for one to keep a solid mind, he must separate his faith from science. I think science is just our way of explaining things to the best of our knowledge based upon what we can observe. 

 

The thing I have to argue in the whole religion vs science debate is that when religion is challenged by logic, it doesn't adapt. It is not strengthened when challenged. For religion to change when challenged would defy the very basis upon which it is built: that the deity or deities were wrong and they should be amended to meet the new standard. Every time in history, when a previous scientific theory was proven wrong, science improves itself. It adopts the new theory. Science is always changing to improve. 

 

I hold to religious beliefs because I've always had this thing in me that seeks to explain what isn't tangible. This feeling in me that has always held that there is a deeper meaning to the total vastness of everything. That there are things we can't explain by science and that it is meant to be that way because that's the way God intended it to be. For example, we don't know exactly how big the universe it. Or what even contains it. Or how the heck it is even here. Intangible things such as measurements and irrational numbers (for example, pi or tau) can be infinite, but is it possible that something tangible - such as stars, planets, and the universe itself - really be infinite? And how? 

 

And why do we even exist? 

 

And if the universe is so huge, why are we the only things dwelling in it? At least, that we know of? There are so many planets we know of that could theoretically support life. So why don't they? 

 

I don't know. Maybe it's lazy of me to say it like that but it kinda sounds like I'm using religion to satiate my need to explain everything by filling the holes that science hasn't or can't. 

 

But anyway, I'm digging too deep here lol

Yeah. We were under a tornado warning earlier. Nothing came out of it, but still. Kept me on my toes the entire duration of the warning.

That's because the Candian dollar isn't as powerful as the American dollar. 

 

A US Dollar is 1.23 Candian Dollars. So if a GPU costs $199.99 here, it's $246.51 in Canada. If it ships from the US, though, that's because there are things like international shipping, customs fees, etc.
