Could be worse, I suppose. I watched this documentary on Smokey Mountain, a Manila slum. The people live on the city dump in makeshift shacks rummaging through and reselling the trash 10-12 hours a day. A normal day is 150 pesos, a good day is 300, and someone might rake in 500 pesos on the best days.

 

500 pesos = $10.57.
